- silos pose a problem at the end of their emptying. Indeed, as long as the volume of product is important, the emptying is carried out by gravity but towards the end of the emptying, the grains form on the bottom of the silo an oblique heap which does not evacuate any more because the mass which it represents , without being negligible since it can reach in the usual silos several hundred quintals, no longer crumbles.

This process is not satisfactory either, because the grains rub on the parts of the floor between two ribs where an energy expenditure to overcome this friction. In addition, as the air jet at the outlet of the "punctures" extends obliquely to the direction of advancement of the grains, a certain energy is still consumed in pure waste.
