A system of air-activated gravity conveyers 11 is arranged on removable supports 8, 9 in a wheeled vehicle or ship for unloading if. The end slides form at least two groups 7a, 7b arranged symmetrically on either side. of, and inclined towards, a similar central collecting air conveyer 5, by which the material is discharged. In the railway wagon illustrated in Figs. 1 and 2 the central conveyer 5 is carried by a trough 12 mounted in trunnions 6 in a passage 4 so that it may be inclined to deliver to either side of the vehicle. Roof-shaped members separate the conveyers 11 and inclined walls 9a, 9b are provided adjacent the walls of the vehicle. The central conveyer 5 delivers to a funnel and hose connection (not shown) fitted adjacent the sliding door 3 in use and delivering to a further air-activated gravity conveyer, to an elevator, or to a pneumatic conveyer or elevator. The conveyers comprise porous supporte 11, preferably, of woven canvas, arranged over metal troughs 12 provided with air inlets which are connected by pipes to a central distributer (not shown). Air is supplied to the distributer by a blower at the unloading station and independently operable valves permit the conveyers to be operated selectively Fig. 13. shows two groups of conveyers 7a, 7b in, the forward half of the hold of a barge and delivering to central coveyers 23a, 23b which in turn deliver to a central pit 24 in the barge.
