Abstract
761,198. Pneumatic conveyers. SIMON HANDLING ENGINEERS, Ltd. Sept. 2, 1955 [Sept. 17, 1954], No. 26973/54. Class 78 (1). A mobile unit for handling granular material pneumatic granular material receiving and comprises a power-driven vehicle fitted with delivering means, means for driving said pneumatic means from the engine, and means for carrying pipe sections for connecting said pneumatic means to the points where the material is to be drawn in and delivered. An exhauster 5, driven by a shaft 4 from the gearbox of the vehicle, is connected by a receiver 6 and a pipe 7 to a grain receiver 8 in which there is a cyclone separator 9. The receiver has an inlet 10 to which the end pipe of a series 28 is connected. These pipes are stored in racks 27 when not in use. Grain is discharged from the receiver through a rotary valve 11 and is directed by a two-way valve 13 either to a worm conveyer 14 feeding an elevator 15 or to a pipe 16 leading to a discharge pipe 17. The elevator discharges by a shoot into a receiver e.g. a vehicle, and the pipe 17 can be extended by connecting pipes 28 thereto. The air discharged by the exhauster 5 passes through a pipe 25 to the pipe 17. When the pipe 17 is not in use, the air from the exhauster is discharged to atmosphere through a silencer 24.
