Definitions

  • the invention relates to a method for the exploitation of marine oil and / or gas deposits by drilling holes in different locations of the occurrence and processing of the product obtained, both processes being carried out from separate platforms, and to an offshore structure, in particular for carrying out the method.
  • the cost-effectiveness of using small or recently located oil and gas fields is essentially determined by the costs for the production platform and the drilling costs. In the case of marginal fields, the solid constructions previously customary for low to medium water depths have to be written down to the relatively small amount of hydrocarbons that can be obtained. This entails high production costs.
  • the production platform is constructed in the manner of a four-legged jack-up platform that sits directly on the sea floor.
  • the legs extend from the platform to a surrounding box-shaped foundation frame, which is necessary to distribute the relatively high foundation load of this production platform.
  • the holes are drilled from specially designed jack-up platforms somewhat away from the installation site of the actual production platform.
  • a half-timbered scaffold protects the pipelines rising from the sea floor, which are led to the production platform via a pipe bridge. After the field is exhausted, the production platform can be relocated and used again, while the pipe bridge and truss cannot be easily reused.
  • Another proposal is a drilling platform that is planned in connection with a tanker as a storage and terminal.
  • the relatively low loads of such a drilling platform allow a direct foundation of the lifting legs.
  • the drilling platform is combined with a production platform into one unit.
  • this combined platform is designed as a jack-up platform, it can be reused at another location after the deposit has been exhausted, but it is not possible to separate drilling and production.
  • an offshore construction designed, for example, as a drilling or production platform is known (US Pat. No. 3,528,254), which is supported on a substructure that was previously lowered onto the seabed.
  • the substructure is firmly anchored in the subsurface.
  • the dimensions of several such substructures are matched to the offshore construction and can be lowered to the sea floor at various points and anchored there.
  • One and the same offshore construction can therefore be placed on the different substructures.
  • the offshore construction is therefore reusable, while the substructures are lost.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a method and an apparatus which are suitable for the exploitation of marine oil or gas fields and allow a short field development time.
  • This object is achieved according to the invention in that the platforms are placed one after the other on a substructure previously lowered onto the sea floor and in that the substructure lowered at a first location is picked up after leaving the platform and lowered at the next but one location for renewed pickup of one of the platforms.
  • an offshore structure consisting of a floating drilling platform and a floating production platform with lifting and lowering lifting legs, which are each supported on a substructure lowered to the sea floor, is proposed, which is characterized in that the lifting legs of the Drilling platform and the production platform have the same dimensions and the same arrangement to each other and that the respective substructure is floating and is optionally assigned to the drilling platform or the production platform.
  • foundation work on a new location can be started before drilling on another location is complete.
  • the drilling platform can be moved to the already established substructure at the new location.
  • the production platform is placed on the substructure left by the drilling platform.
  • repairs and adjustments to the platforms and the substructures can be carried out. In this way, the field development time can be significantly reduced.
  • the reuse of not only the platforms but also the substructures reduces the production costs.
  • the offshore structure shown is designed as a drilling platform 1, from which the holes to the deposit are made, and as a production platform 2, which is used to process the products obtained.
  • Each of these platforms contains a deck 3 on which the facilities necessary for the respective purpose are set up.
  • steam generators, turbines, Ge generators and, if necessary, rectifiers can be installed, with the aid of which the oil and / or gas can be converted into electricity which is transported ashore via submarine cables.
  • the decks 3 of the platforms are buoyant and equipped with lifting and lowering legs 4.
  • lifting devices are available on the deck.
  • the deck 3 and the lifting legs 4 of the drilling platform 1 and the production platform 2 are largely the same.
  • the lifting legs 4 have the same dimensions and the same arrangement with respect to the deck 3.
  • the lifting legs 4 of the platforms are supported on a substructure 5 which has previously been lowered onto the seabed 6.
  • the substructure 5 is buoyant due to the arrangement of bilge and floodable tanks. It can also be provided with storage tanks for the extracted oil.
  • the substructure 5, like the drilling platform 1 and the production platform 2, is fully assembled at a shipyard. These units are towed to the intended construction site on the sea and lowered there.
  • the substructure 5 consists of feet 7 and vertical sections 8, which are connected to one another by struts 9.
  • the lower ends of the lifting legs 4 rest on the vertical sections 8 of the substructure 5.
  • the mutual spacing of the lifting legs 4 corresponds to the spacing of the vertical sections 8 from one another.
  • Each substructure 5 can thus be assigned either a drilling platform 1 or a production platform 2.
  • the vertical sections 8 of the substructure 5 can be extended and connected by a truss structure 10.
  • the distance of the vertical sections 8 from the water surface indicated by the line 11 is essentially the same.
  • the lifting legs 4 of the drilling platform 1 and the production platform 2 can always have a constant short length. This means a comparatively economical dimensioning of the relatively expensive lifting legs 4 and a small space requirement for the leg diameter which is small given the short leg lengths.
  • a substructure 5 is placed and installed on the seabed 6 at location A by flooding the tanks.
  • a drilling platform 1 is initially placed by floating this drilling platform 1 over the substructure 5, lowering the lifting legs 4 until they strike the substructure 5, and the deck 3 when the lifting legs 4 are firmly seated, up to the desired height above the water surface is raised.
  • the required production wells are drilled from the drilling platform 1.
  • a second substructure 5 is to be installed on location B while the production wells are being sunk.
  • appropriate structural preparations for extending and adapting the substructures 5 initially installed at location A to the water depth and the ground conditions of location C are to be carried out.
  • phase II and the subsequent phase 111 a short time is provided for general overhauls of the production platform 2 and the drilling platform 1 and for adaptation work on the resumed substructure 5 from location A.
  • This substructure 5 is then placed on location C, while the production platform 2 is placed on the substructure 5 left by the drilling platform 1 at location B.
  • drilling operations can be started from the attached drilling platform 1 at this new location C.
