Abstract

A railway vehicle for urban use has at least one motorized truck and at least one non-motorized supporting truck. Claims (5)

1. Railway vehicle, particularly for urban use, the frame of which being constituted by one or several sections, the vehicle comprising a floor (19) bordered on each side by a stringer (21), walls fitted with doors (20) and windows, and a roof, the vehicle being supported by at least two trucks one (17) of which being non motor driven and only supporting, this supporting truck (17) being fitted with wheels of small diameter (3,4,5, 6) allowing an important lowering of the level of the floor (19) of the vehicle at the right angle to the area corresponding to said truck (17), the lowering of the level being sufficient so that only one footboard (29), disposed at a level located mid-way between the street (22) and the floor (19) of the vehicle, is necessary to permit access to, respectively exit from the vehicle for the passengers, characterized in that the surface of said lowered floor (19) is flat, in the sense that it is free of stairwells, the stringers (21) bordering the floor (19) being located at the same level from one end to the other end of the area of the vehicle where the floor is lowered, and in that the footboard (29) is retractable and is placed in position of use simultaneously with the opening of the corresponding door (20).
2. Vehicle according to claim 1, characterized in that the frame is constituted by at least two sections facing each other and provided with an articulation of vertical axis which connects them to each other.
3. Vehicle according to claim 1, characterized in that a supporting truck (17) is located at right angle to an articulation means connecting two frame sections to each other.
4. Vehicle according to claim 1, characterized in that the supporting truck (17) is located close to the end of a frame section facing the articulation which connects two frame sections.
5. Vehicle according to Claim 1, characterized in that the frame is supported by at least three trucks, at least one of the two end trucks being motor driven (18), and the supporting truck(s) (17) being equipped with wheels (3, 4, 5, 6) of small diameter, the floor of the vehicle being arranged on two levels, a first lowered level (19) being located at right angle to the supporting truck(s) (17) with small wheels, and a second higher level covering the motor driven truck(s) (18), said level of the floor being accessible to the passengers by an internal stair (33) which connects together the parts of the floor located at two different levels.
