Claims (6)

1. Verfahren zum Entfetten von kaltgewalzten Metallbändern bei dem das Entfetten gleichzeitig mit dem Aufheizen des Bandes auf chemischem Wege mittels stark erhitzter Dämpfe ausgeführt wird, welche auf die auf dem Band vorhandene Ölschicht einwirken, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Aufheizen und das Entfetten des Bandes räumlich getrennt voneinander ausgeführt werden, wobei das Aufheizen des Bandes in einem Raum der Wärmezufuhreinrichtung mittels Wärmestrahlung ausgeführt wird, und wobei das Entfetten des Bandes auf chemischem Wege im Heizungsraum mittels eines bei der Verbrennung eines Brennstoffes in einem Stochiometrischen Unterschuß entstehenden Gases erreicht wird.
2. Verfahren nach. Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Band während des Aufheizvorganges auf der für die Durchführung der Dampfentfettung notwendigen Temperatur, vor allem auf einer Temperatur zwischen 450 und 600 °C gehalten wird.
3. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Atmosphäre des Heizraumes aus von der Verbrennung eines gasförmigen Brennstoffes herrührenden Dämpfen aufgebaut wird, wobei die Verbrennung entweder innerhalb oder außerhalb des Heizraumes durchgeführt wird.
4. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die im stöchiometrischen Sinne nicht vollständige Verbrennung mit einem Rückstandsanteil zwischen 0,5 und 10 %, gegebenenfalls unter Vormischung durchgeführt wird.

Verfahren nach Anspruch 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die vom Heizraum abgezogenen Dämpfe zur Verbrennung der bei der unvollständigen Verbrennung anfallenden Rückstände ebenso aufbereitet werden wie zur Verdampfung des Öls und zur Vorwärmung der Luft, die nachfolgend in der die Gasatmosphäre erzeugenden Verbrennung benötigt wird.

Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Heizraum unter Gewährleistung eines geringen Abstandes zwischen den Heizelementen oder den Raumwänden und dem Band als schmale Kammer ausgebildet ist, und damit auf dem Niveau des zu entfettenden Bandes einen großen Durchsatz sowie einen raschen Austausch der Gasatmosphäre erlaubt.
