Definitions
- the invention relates to a drinking cup allowing the mixing of two doses of constituents at the time of use.
- the subject of the present invention is, as a new industrial product, a drinking cup specially arranged to allow, under the best desirable conditions, the preparation, storage, transport and distribution of drinks of the aforementioned type, the two constituents of which are mixed at the time of tasting.
- the cup according to the invention of the kind comprising a glass-shaped container whose opening is closed by a heat-sealed lid, and a vial one of the two constituents being enclosed by said vial while the other is placed in the space in the container around this vial, is characterized in that the opening of the vial, facing downwards, is obstructed by application against the bottom of said container and in that the bottom of the container has an axial tube of low height which is provided with a sealing gasket and the inner wall of which is threaded.
- the cup according to the invention comprises a container 1 in the form of a glass, which is supposed to be made of transparent synthetic material.
- the bottom, provided slightly raised, of this glass 1 is integral with an axial tube 2 established at a reduced height and whose internal wall is provided with a helical thread; in this tubing 2 is screwed the open base 3a of a cylindrical sleeve 3 of plastic material, preferably transparent.
- the internal wall of this socket 3 includes wedging fins 3b, three in number in the example envisaged and oriented obliquely inward; the top of these fins 3b is connected to stops or edges 3c which extend in the upper part 3d of the sleeve 3, which upper part 3d has the "pinched" profile shown in FIG. 3 in order to allow easy gripping, as will be better understood below.
- a glass vial 4 the opening of which faces downwards, bearing against a seal or gasket 5 housed in the tube 2.
- the diameter of this vial 4 is such that its cylindrical side wall is centered and wedged between the deformable fins 3b while its bottom, turned upwards, is held by the upper stops 3c, with the interposition of a wedging disc such as 6.
- the opening of the glass 1 is closed by a heat-sealed cover 7, provided with a lateral gripping tab 7a.
- the automatic filling of the flask 4 can be operated while the latter is engaged in the sleeve 3, the 3d end of the latter then of course being turned downwards.
- the container or glass 1 being presented open in the direction of the bottom, the sleeve 3 is screwed by its base 3a into the threaded tube 2; the gasket 5 seals the closure of the vial 4 while the disc 6 allows the compensation of slight differences in height which may affect the vials.
- the glass 1 is then turned over so as to allow it to be filled and the cover 7 is finally put in place.
- the annular space formed by the fins 3b forms an insulator and prevents any excessive cooling or overheating of the liquid contained in the vial 4.
- the assembly formed by the socket 3 and the vial 4, made integral with one another as a result of the fins 3b, can be removed from the glass 1 which can then be used for tasting the drink obtained by mixing the two doses of constituents.
- Fig. 4 illustrates a variant in which the vial mounted inside the socket 13 is constituted by a small bottle 14 of a type known per se in the alcohol trade, the opening of the neck 14a being closed by bearing against the lining 15.
- the fins 13b ensure the centering of this bottle 14 and its connection with the sleeve 13, the setting in the axial direction being effected by means of an upper pad 16 capable of being compressed elastically.
- Fig. 5 illustrates another embodiment of the cup according to the invention.
- a container or glass 21 the bottom of which is provided with a threaded tube 22, but it is the open base or neck 24a of the vial 24 which is screwed tightly into the above-mentioned tube.
- This thus dispenses with the socket 3 or 13 of the preceding embodiments, it being observed that the cover 27 fixed on the open edge of the container 1 can advantageously come to be fixed against the bottom, turned upwards, of the vial 24 which is thus retained axially in said container; this bottom is advantageously provided with a “pinched” profile, as shown in 24b, so as to facilitate the unscrewing of the vial 24 during use.
- tubing 22 can then be provided in independent form, by simply making it comprise an annular base 22a capable of giving it a better seat; the vials 24 are thus capable of being filled in advance and being stored in the full state by being closed by the tube 22-22a, their fixing in the glasses 1 being carried out at the last moment, that is to say during filling them and closing them with the cover 27.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a drinking cup allowing the mixing of two doses of constituents at the time of use.
It is known that a certain number of drinks consist of the mixture, in respective well-defined amounts, of two components which can be formed either by liquids or by a liquid and a powdered product, it being observed that for reasons of conservation or freshness of taste it is necessary or even only advantageous that this mixture occurs immediately before use, that is to say before tasting. By way of nonlimiting example, one can cite the case of aniseed drinks (such as in particular those known under the name of "pastis" or "anisette"), comprising in principle five volumes of water for one volume of liquor.
The state of the art in the matter is illustrated by the documents FR-A-2 069 091 and US-A-3 856 138. It will be observed that if in the first city of these documents it is indeed a cup to drink the mixture of the two constituents is not carried out automatically and requires manual stirring. In the second one we are dealing with a bottle which lends itself very poorly to the normal use of a cup and which is closed by an expensive stopper, having two concentric threads.
The subject of the present invention is, as a new industrial product, a drinking cup specially arranged to allow, under the best desirable conditions, the preparation, storage, transport and distribution of drinks of the aforementioned type, the two constituents of which are mixed at the time of tasting.
The cup according to the invention, of the kind comprising a glass-shaped container whose opening is closed by a heat-sealed lid, and a vial one of the two constituents being enclosed by said vial while the other is placed in the space in the container around this vial, is characterized in that the opening of the vial, facing downwards, is obstructed by application against the bottom of said container and in that the bottom of the container has an axial tube of low height which is provided with a sealing gasket and the inner wall of which is threaded.
- Fig. 1 is a schematic axial section of a drinking cup established in accordance with the invention.
- Fig. 2 is a cross section along the plane indicated in II-II in FIG. 1.
- Fig. 3 shows the upper part of the socket containing the vial of the cup according to FIG. 1 and 2.
- Fig. 4 shows a variant of the cup according to FIG. 1.
- Fig. 5 is an axial section illustrating another embodiment of the invention.
In the embodiment shown in fig. 1 to 3, the cup according to the invention comprises a
In the socket thus formed is engaged a
The automatic filling of the
It will be noted that the two liquid constituents which respectively fill the
At the time of use, the user tears and eliminates the
Fig. 4 illustrates a variant in which the vial mounted inside the
1 à 3.The use is of course identical to that which has been explained above with reference to FIGS. 1 to 3.
Fig. 5 illustrates another embodiment of the cup according to the invention. Here we find a container or
It will be noted that the
