Description

The invention relates to a device for removing paint, carpet and / or material residues from a surface, with a cutting plate attached to a vibration exciter, which is provided on two mutually parallel circumferential sides with cutting edges, each of which has a transition area in connection with the cutting plate stand and form an acute angle to the processing surface.

The removal of such material residues occurs when renovating residential or business premises after the removal of wallpaper, floor coverings, cladding or the like. In these cases, the remains of paints, plastics, adhesives or material to be removed on the surfaces to be renovated are removed laboriously by hand with a spatula or with the help of mechanical grinders. The disadvantage here is not only the high workload, but also the considerable consumption of abrasives.

However, devices are also known (US-A-2 984 908) which operate with the aid of movable cutting plates which are set reciprocally in motion by means of an eccentric gear. In this device, the center area of the device rests on the surface to be processed. In this device, therefore, the weight of the vibration exciter is not used, but only the spring force that is generated when the cutting edges deflect. The known device has not been able to assert itself because the cutting edges do not exert sufficient force on the remnants.

Furthermore, a device is known (US-A-3 811 160), in which a continuous plate is attached to the vibrating plate of an orbital sander, at the ends of which two cutting edges point vertically downwards. A disadvantage of this device is that the vertical cutting edges shake into a surface and can cause damage. The device must therefore be guided very carefully by hand and must be constantly in motion.

Finally, reference is made to DE-A-2 818 073. In this device, a cutting blade is attached to a plate suspended from a vibration exciter. The machine drives the cutting blade over the plate with an oscillating movement that runs in the plane of the plate. The peeling tool equipped with the cutting blade is only arranged on one side of the machine, so that it has to be lifted and guided at an angle during work. Lifting can also be facilitated by a support roller.

The disadvantage of this device is that the blade position must obviously be set very precisely so that the peeling process runs optimally. This is tiring and cramping with hand guidance. However, the wheel-supported design requires considerable additional technical effort, in particular the blade must also be reinforced so that the interaction of oscillation, blade feed and working speed leads to an optimal result. The wheel-based device is therefore too expensive for a handyman.

The object of the invention is therefore to provide a device of the type mentioned at the outset, with the aid of which a rational, fatigue-free and rapidly progressing method of removing material residues is made possible by overcoming existing difficulties and disadvantages, the device being easy to handle and must be inexpensive to implement.

This object is achieved with a device of the type mentioned at the beginning, which has the following details:
  • the cutting plate is arranged below the housing of the vibration exciter,
  • - The transition areas to the cutting edges are formed by obliquely outwardly extending edge parts which are connected to the cutting plate and the cutting strips provided with the cutting edges by resiliently elastic transitions.

With the device according to the invention, in contrast to the prior art, an efficient and fatigue-free mode of operation is achieved in that the cutting edges in the frequency of the vibration cutting and planing working strokes in the order of magnitude of the vibration amplitude are carried out by the material residues standing as elevations on the surface to be smoothed takes off effectively. It is not necessary to check the inclination of the machine or the cutting edges.

Because the cutting plate with its characteristic arrangement and shape according to the invention is equipped with bevelled edges and cutting edges tapering at an acute angle to the machined surface, the bevelled edge parts of the cutting plate having a certain resilient-elastic effect, effective cutting is achieved without the surface to be smoothed is attacked. The height at which the cutting insert lies above the surface can be of different heights.

The cutting plate has a polygonal, preferably a rectangular, bulging base in the central region and two approximately parallel edges with cutting edges. The cutting edges themselves can be straight, but they can also be serrated or serrated.

In the various embodiments there is also the advantage that the device with a commercially available orbital sander as a drive for relatively low purchase costs as a new, powerful Vorrich is available, which facilitates many relevant smoothing work.

  • Fig. 1 eine Vorrichtung nach der Erfindung in perspektivischer Darstellung;
  • Fig. 2 eine Vorderansicht der Vorrichtung gemäß Fig. 1;
  • Fig. 3 eine andere Darstellung;
  • Fig. 4 ein Randdetail bei der Schneide gemäß den Fig. 1 und 3;
  • Fig. 5a und 5b zwei verschiedene Klingenformen.
The invention is illustrated below using an exemplary embodiment in the drawing and is explained in more detail. It shows
  • Figure 1 shows a device according to the invention in perspective.
  • FIG. 2 shows a front view of the device according to FIG. 1;
  • 3 shows another representation;
  • 4 shows an edge detail in the cutting edge according to FIGS. 1 and 3;
  • 5a and 5b two different blade shapes.

The cutting tip usually has a rectangular shape, the central region of which is arched and which has two parallel edges with downwardly protruding cutters, while the end faces are cutless. The shape shown in Fig. 1 does not correspond to this shape, since it shows an embodiment with two cutting strips instead of a plate.

Fig. 1 zeigt die Vorrichtung gemäß Erfindung in arbeitsbereitem Zustand. Fig. 1 shows the device according to the invention in a workable state. A cutting plate 1 consisting of two cutting strips 2, 2 'and the base 1' extends in its central part approximately parallel to the surface 3 to be processed and is arranged in the central part above the surface to be processed. The cutting plate 1 is in contact with it via the cutting strips 2, 2 '. The latter are beveled in the direction of the surface 3, the edge parts 4, 4 'being provided with cutting edges 5, 5'. For this purpose, the cutting edges 5, 5 'are hardened by a method known to those skilled in the art of cutlery. The cutting edges 5, 5 'run at an acute angle α to the surface 3. Material residues 7, 7 'present on the surface 3 are lifted off, as can be clearly seen from the illustration in the figures, in a combination of small-scale cutting and / or planing movements which occur in rapid succession with the frequency of the oscillation.

The actual one-part or multi-part insert 1 can be released from the actual vibration exciter 9 for sharpening or after wear after loosening the fastening elements, for example in the form of screws 8. The screw holes in the cutting plate 1 are arranged so that they match the existing holes of conventional orbital sander.

As can also be seen from the figures, the vibration exciter 9 has one or more handles 10. Furthermore, an electrical supply cord is present, which is not shown in the present case, however. Accordingly, the designs shown are motor-driven orbital sanders of a commercially available type which are familiar to the person skilled in the art. Such known devices are designed either as circular oscillators or as linear oscillators, both types of oscillation, which can alternatively be set on one device, being possible with commercially available devices. As tests have shown, both types of vibration are suitable for the invention. In the rest, these are symbolized by the arrows 11 (circular oscillators) and 11 '(linear oscillators).

Another view is shown in FIG. 3. The two cutting strips 2, 2 ', which are divided in the central region, can be clearly seen. Each of the two cutting strips 2, 2 'has edge portions 4, 4' which end in cutting edges 5, 5 '. The cutting plate 1 can also be designed in another embodiment, for example in the form of a regular hexagon.

A somewhat different shape of the edge part 4 of the cutting insert 1 is shown in FIG. 4. This is equipped with larger radius transitions 12, 13. This results in a somewhat softer-elastic effect, which is advantageous in some cases in coordination with the cutting material.

Dieser Winkel α liegt etwa zwischen 5 und 25°, ohne daß diese Winkelangaben letztlich limitierend sein sollen.3 and 4, the acute angle IX, which the cutting edges 5, 5 'forms with the surface 3, can also be seen. This angle α is approximately between 5 and 25 °, without this angle information ultimately being intended to be limiting.

Die Fig. 5a zeigt die Möglichkeit, die Schneiden mit einer geraden Schneidkante auszustatten, während die Fig. 5b eine gezackte Schneidkante darstellt.5a shows the possibility of equipping the cutting edges with a straight cutting edge, while FIG. 5b shows a serrated cutting edge.
