Abstract

Electrical resistance strip heating element, the insulated side areas of which are mechanically reinforced in order to render the strip less sensitive to tearing. The reinforcement may be of a slightly stretchable open mask type textile web.

Description

The invention relates to an electric heating element according to the preamble of claim 1.

Such an electrical heating element is known from DE-B-1 515 030. Any information about the reinforcement strip is missing. Reinforcing wires made of nylon are also mentioned in the document.

It is the object of the invention to provide a heating element of the type mentioned above with a special reinforcement strip.

The object is achieved as indicated in claim 1. Further training results from the subclaims.

  • Fig. 1 ein Heizelement gemäß der Erfindung,
  • Fig. 2 ein Doppel-Heizelement,
The invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to the drawings. Show it:
  • 1 shows a heating element according to the invention,
  • 2 shows a double heating element,
  • 3 shows a cross section along the section line 111 from FIG. 1,
  • 4 shows a part of a heating element with a coarse mesh reinforcement,
  • Fig. 5 shows a cross section through the element of FIG. 4 along the section line V and
  • Fig. 6 shows a cross section through the element of FIG. 4 along the section line VI.

In Fig. 1, a heating element 1 is shown with an electrical resistance strip 2, which is arranged in a meandering shape. The electrical connections are labeled 3 and 4. The resistance strip is applied as a layer on at least one film on insulating material 5, the width of which is greater than the width of the resistance strip arrangement.

The free insulation areas outside the resistor strip assembly are normally used to attach the element to a wall, ceiling, or the like by nailing or otherwise.

The lateral insulation surfaces are reinforced. According to the invention, the reinforcement consists to a certain extent of stretchable textile fabric 6, as a result of which the best possible connection between the insulating films and the reinforcement can be achieved. The reinforcement is required to withstand tensile strengths of at least 10 Newtons in each direction for ten seconds.

As shown, this element consists of two arrays of resistance strips 10 and 11, which can be parallel or in series, depending on the installation requirements. In this case, in addition to the outer reinforcements (13), there is also a reinforcement strip 12 or the like in the "side surface" between the two resistance strip arrangements 10 and 11.

The resistance strip arrangement, denoted by 2, is located between two insulation films 5 in the form of a layer arrangement, and the reinforcements 6 are likewise in the form of a layer arrangement between the insulation films 5. The reinforcements 6 which are attached in the "nail surface" of the heating element should preferably have a thickness which is greater than the thickness of the resistance strip arrangement in order to avoid undesired pressure on the resistance strips during installation. When nailing the element to a wall or ceiling, the reinforcements absorb all or most of the pressure that would otherwise undesirably affect the resistance strip arrangement.

Fig. 4 shows schematically a portion of a side surface of a heating element, in which the insulating films are transparent in order to facilitate attachment. The reinforcement is of the type of a to some extent stretchable, coarse-mesh textile fabric. In this case, the installers can simply be instructed to hit the nails in the reinforcement surface, or better, if the reinforcement is made of colored material, into the colored surface.

Cross sections of the side surface according to FIG. 4 are shown in FIGS. It can be seen there that the two insulation foils 5 lie against one another and are connected there by the spaces between the horizontal and vertical threads 20 and 21 of the reinforcement, so that the best possible connection between the insulation foils and the reinforcement is achieved.
