Le pliage de l'échelle dans le grenier et son dépliage pour son utilisation s'effectuent suivant un arc de cercle constant ne permettant pas, en particulier, d'éviter, pendant ces manoeuvres, un obstacle situé dans le grenier, ne serait-ce qu'au niveau du toit lorsque celui-ci est très incliné.
