Definitions
- the invention relates to a bottle for artificial breastfeeding and other uses; a valve provided in the wall of the bottle makes it possible to adjust, manually, the quantity of air which must replace the liquid flowing due to the vacuum produced by the suction; an area of the nipple has a geometry which varies automatically to allow the variation of this vacuum to be evaluated during continuous suction.
- the opening includes a teat with or without valve allowing air to enter during feeding. It is obvious that in the absence of this valve, as for example in nesting nipple bottles, air can enter the bottle only through the holes in the nipple. In any case, the milk comes out of the teat because of the sucking of the infant and, so that the outside air can enter into the bottle, the infant must overcome the existing vacuum which depends, inter alia, on the height of the column of the liquid, the sensitivity of the valve when it exists, the width and the number of holes in the teat.
- an air valve for baby bottles manually adjustable during feeding, consists of two parts: one, serving as a seat, is integral with the bottom of the bottle and the other, serving as a regulating organ, is a rotary plug.
- This cap is provided with an air duct covered with a rubber sheath constituting the check valve: consequently the air cannot spontaneously enter the bottle but only by suction of the liquid through the teat, which tires the infant or even sometimes prevents him from sucking if he is fragile.
- this cap rotates freely in its seat, it does not have an easily identifiable position of complete closure of the valve and, therefore, must be provided with an index, associated with a graduated disc, fixed on the bottle and on which is indicated the fully closed position of the valve.
- an index associated with a graduated disc, fixed on the bottle and on which is indicated the fully closed position of the valve.
- the cap of this valve is held in place by a fixing member, a small amount of air can however enter the bottle around the cap and therefore, the liquid can flow, even when the valve is closed. .
- the present invention aims to provide a remedy to all these difficulties.
- the invention as characterized in the claims, solves the problem of introducing air into the bottle even in the presence of a very low vacuum, that is to say at almost atmospheric pressure, by revealing and visualizing the continuous variation of this vacuum occurring in the bottle by the effect of continuous suction.
- the advantages obtained thanks to this invention consist essentially in that: the quantity of air entering without almost any bubbling in the bottle is adjusted manually without interrupting the feeding; during the suction, the variation of the vacuum in the bottle appears automatically and continuously without any external intervention, forming on the one hand a visual signaling means indicating the moment and the mode of intervention on the valve and on the other hand , a means of controlling the effect obtained after adjusting the valve and the operating mode of the bottle relative to the needs of the infant; you can also administer foods thicker than milk, drugs that are both liquid, powdery and gaseous with or without adding air.
- a bottle according to the invention comprises a bottle and a teat, to be screwed or fitted, applicable on the neck of the bottle.
- the reusable glass bottle shown in Figs. 1 and 2 comprises a cylindrical, transparent, graduated body (1), the side or bottom wall of which is fitted with an air valve (2) provided with a manual adjustment device (3), rotating by 180 ° or from a different angle, between two positions "A" (fully open) and "C" (completely closed); each intermediate position corresponds to an intermediate valve opening value.
- the neck of the bottle is threaded to be fitted a nipple support ring or it is smooth in the case of an interlocking nipple application.
- Said valve (2) see for example of fig.
- the senor 3) comprises two parts: that (21), serving as a seat, is fixed on the bottle or is integral with it and that (22), serving as shutter, is movable relative to the first to which it is connected by a thread (23) not hermetically sealed and therefore forming an air passage.
- the parts, fixed and mobile, of the valve have a conical contact surface or of another known shape used for valves, with or without interposition of a seal.
- the shutter member (22) can advantageously be provided with a pierced tail (25), serving to connect externally a part for introducing into the bottle liquid and / or gaseous and / or powdery substances (such as for example drugs) , with or without adding air.
- the plastic bottle or other easily perforable material shown in fig. 4, comprises a body (1) of traditional shape and a small short threaded tube (32) protruding outside the side wall of the body (1 this tube is the fixed element of the above-mentioned valve.
- the shutter of this valve is a threaded capsule (33) connected to the tube (32) by a thread and from the base of which comes out a conical piece (35) larger than the capsule and the tip of which serves to open an air passage in the wall (31) of the bottle when the cap is screwed and unscrewed.
- This shutter (33) can advantageously be used to open the bottle before use and, in the case of a bottle made with a dose of liquid fixed in advance, to perforate the orifice.
- the bottle made of plastic or other easily punctured material, of the disposable type, shown in FIG. 5, is provided with a punch piece, of metal or other hard material, having a slightly conical wedge-shaped rod (42) and an enlarged cylindrical head (43); a small longitudinal hole (44) passing through the rod and the head, in combination with one or more transverse holes (45) and communicating with the hole (44), creates the air passage (s) when the rod of the part- punch is formed in the wall of the bottle; a probe (46) is provided to ensure the opening of the perforation (44) and to regulate the closing.
- a punch piece of metal or other hard material, having a slightly conical wedge-shaped rod (42) and an enlarged cylindrical head (43); a small longitudinal hole (44) passing through the rod and the head, in combination with one or more transverse holes (45) and communicating with the hole (44), creates the air passage (s) when the rod of the part- punch is formed in the wall of the bottle; a probe (46) is provided to ensure the opening of the perforation (4
- the pacifier shown in Figs. 6, 7 and 8 comprises: a flexible rubber body whose base (51), the peduncle (52) and the button (53) have an elliptical cross section at each point of the longitudinal axis; a circular rim (55) connected to the base (51); a ring (56) when applied to a bottle with a grooved neck.
- the most flattened areas of the base (51) have a bulge (57) towards the outside, open inside and whose wall thickness is very thin and less than that of the other areas of the teat.
- bulges (57) are of variable geometry and their curvature varies according to the variations in the vacuum existing in the bottle during feeding.
- the increase in vacuum first causes the wall to flatten out and then swell towards the interior.
- a teat is provided, the wall of the base (51) of which is thinner than that of the other zones of the said teat.
- the teat can also advantageously be provided with an annular projection (58) forcing said swellings (57) to remain outside the mouth of the infant and to avoid excessive introduction of the teat into the mouth of the infant. this.
- the holes (54) of the button (53) of the teat are lateral so that the liquid can flow towards the cheeks in the mouth of the child.
