Bei der Herstellung und Veredelung synthetischer Garne sind häufig thermische Behandlungen laufender Garne notwendig, z.B. beim Verstrecken, beim Texturieren oder beim Zwirnen. Da Garne meist auf Einzelstellenaggraggregaten hergestellt und verarbeitet werden, verbrauchen die entsprechenden Heizvorrichtungen verhältnismäßig viel Energie und erfordern einen großen Regelaufwand. Hier versucht man durch gemeinsame Heizaggregate für eine ganze Fadenschar Abhilfe zu schaffen, wie das z.B. die DD-PS 59 994, die DE-OS 16 60 462 oder die DE-OS 24 13 315 zeigen.
