Claims (2)

1. Procédé pour le fonctionnement d'un laminoir de bande et plus spécialement d'un laminoir comprenant notamment plusieurs cages de laminoirs quarto ou duo montées les unes après les autres et comportant des empoises du même type des deux côtés de la fente de laminage, pourvues d'au moins un dispositif de réglage (7) placé latéralement par rapport au plan des axes des cylindres, et à l'aide duquel on immobilise sans jeu les empoises des cylindres avant l'apparition de la force de laminage, en les poussant contre la face du montant de la cage vers laquelle est dirigée la composante transversale de la force de laminage, caractérisé en ce que les dispositifs de réglage (7) sont logés dans les montants (1) de la cage de laminoir et ils sont en liaison avec les empoises des cylindres d'un laminoir duo ou avec les empoises (3) des cylindres d'appui (2) dans le cas d'un laminoir quarto et en ce que les dispositifs de réglage (7) amènent lesdites empoises en appui direct contre des surfaces latérales (6a) de la fenêtre (6) de la cage, si bien que, pendant le développement de l'opération de laminage, les vérins de réglage (7) sont mis hors pression et les empoises précitées sont maintenues dans la position définie de la sorte uniquement par la force obtenue à partir du processus de laminage.
2. Dispositif pour la mise en oeuvre du procédé suivant la revendication 1 comprenant une cage de laminoir dans laquele des empoises d'un même type sont placées des deux côtés de la fente de laminage et au moins un vérin de réglage (7) est monté latéralement par rapport au plan des axes des cylindres de laminage, caractérisé en ce que les vérins (7) sont logés dans les montants (1) du laminoir et ils agissent sur les empoises des cylindres de laminage duo ou les cylindres d'appui.
