Abstract
The guide device made of joined hollow profile sections (10) made of thin-walled sheet steel, the hot-dip galvanized interior of which is foamed with plastic (20), has a symmetrical box cross-section limited to at least three sides by sheet metal with a substantially decreasing width, the open side of which may face the floor touched this. The supports projecting partly into the floor and partly into recesses (21) that are specially used for this purpose in the hollow profile sections are therefore not exposed. The cross-sectional shape of the hollow profile, the greatest width of which lies above the height of the averaged wheel, is approximately that of an upright mushroom or a trapezoid, the small base of which touches the ground and the sides of which are inclined by a maximum of 30 ° to the vertical. Each hollow profile section is formed from a sheet metal sheet; to produce a closed hollow profile section, the longitudinal edges (11, 12) of the sheet metal sheet are flanged and connected and covered by means of the flanged sheet metal plate (13). The side walls of the hollow profiles can be corrugated, with the wave crests parallel to the road.
Description
The present invention relates to a guide device for the safety of four-wheel and two-wheel vehicles and their occupants or users in road traffic and on racetracks.
Over the course of time, it has emerged that it is advisable to provide the streets with a very narrow or without a median with guidance devices. Here, a guide device is mainly used, which consists of a prism-shaped profile made of concrete, which is anchored in the floor.
The concrete version was rightly expected to have very low repair costs, at least as far as the control system itself is concerned. However, it must be noted that vehicles that have got off the track and come into contact with this guide device are considerably damaged, and the vehicle passengers are also exposed to injuries. This applies to an even greater extent to two-wheeled vehicles, the users of which come into direct contact with the control device when they break out of the train.
Indeed, as can be easily seen, a motorcycle rider can be seriously injured when hitting a rigid and unyielding concrete plank even at low speeds.
Furthermore, there is a risk in both two- and four-wheel vehicles that start against the known concrete guiding devices in tangential direction that the tires adhering well to the concrete climb up on the guiding device, which can lead to serious consequences. In this case, it is not possible to preclude the vehicle from climbing onto the opposite lane.
These disadvantages could be largely avoided by means of conventional guide devices of the type described by the applicant in DE-PS 20 26 225. This is a guide system that supports guardrails provides, wherein the guardrails consist of thin-walled sheet metal and have the shape of a hollow profile comprising at least three sides and filled with plastic, and wherein the plastic adheres to the inner walls of the hollow profile. This control device is flexible and at the same time stable and safe. Their elasticity is undoubtedly better suited to the present problem than is the case for concrete guiding devices. However, this guide device has spaced supports which are extraordinarily effective in the freeway optics, but which must be eliminated in the present problem. In fact, a falling motorcycle rider would risk serious injuries if they came into contact with the supports of such a guide.
The aim of the invention is therefore to propose a guiding device which meets the above-mentioned requirements and does not have the disadvantages mentioned. This goal is achieved by the guide device according to the invention, which understands joined hollow profile sections made of thin-walled steel sheet, the interior of which is preferably hot-dip galvanized and foamed with a plastic, characterized in that the hollow profile foamed with plastic represents a symmetrical box of different widths delimited on at least three sides by the steel sheet , whose side facing the floor touches the same, and that the guiding device understands supports, in particular made of sheet steel, which protrude partly into the ground, partly into the hollow profile itself, and specifically into recesses which are specially used for this purpose in the profile body.
In each case of successive hollow profile sections, one is tapered at one end over a sufficient length by the sheet thickness and is nested with this end into the non-tapered end of the other hollow profile section, the two hollow profile sections being connected to one another by said riveting, screwing or adhesive bonding.
As can be seen, the guide device according to the invention has neither exposed supports or posts, nor any other protruding angular parts which could be dangerous to a vehicle or even a motorcycle cyclist. Furthermore, the walls are completely smooth thanks to the metal design. This means that, in contrast to the known concrete devices, no significant static friction with wheel tires can occur.
Each hollow profile section of the guide device according to the invention is made from one or two sheet metal sheets. This ensures extensive flatness, since sheet metal connections are either not necessary or, where necessary, are laid outside of possible contact with people or vehicles.
Furthermore, according to one embodiment, the hollow profile can be designed such that one side, that is, the side facing the floor, is open. This eliminates what is particularly cheap, any in the longitudinal i.e. sheet metal connection running in the direction of the road.
On the other hand, according to the invention, in embodiments in which the open shape is not desired, a closed hollow profile can be provided which has adjoining sheet metal edges which are crimped and are connected to one another by means of a flap which is correspondingly crimped on both sides. The tab hides the flanged sheet metal edges and thus eliminates any risk of cuts.
As far as the shape of the hollow profile is concerned, according to a first embodiment of the guide device according to the invention, a shape similar to an upright mushroom has proven to be particularly functional.
Due to the fact that the width decreases downwards and the upper part protrudes, a rotating wheel initially comes into contact with the upper tire edge with the guide device, see above that it sags down immediately. In this version, the wheel cannot climb because it is always pressed down by the weight of the car and since it also has no contact downwards, so there is no friction, it must fall down. A similar effect also occurs when the guardrail touches the body, particularly the fenders.
The mushroom shape also prevents a motorcycle rider in contact with the guiding device from being easily hurled over it onto the mating track because, in addition to the shape, the hollow profiles have a greater height than the conventional guardrails.
The mushroom shape therefore not only benefits motor vehicles, but also motorcycles to an increased extent, since a fall into the guide device according to the invention leads to a catch within the concave part of the mushroom, the fallen person not coming into contact with any protruding parts - exposed supports are not available - glides along the hollow section until its kinetic energy is exhausted. This type of protection is particularly effective and desirable within curves. For this reason, this embodiment is particularly suitable for building along racetracks.
A second embodiment of the guide device according to the invention provides that the hollow profile has the shape of a trapezoid, the base of which touches the ground and the sides of which are inclined to the vertical at an angle of at most 30 °. The upper edges are preferably rounded.
The advantage of this embodiment lies in particular in its simplicity. From a manufacturing point of view, this form entails lower acquisition costs, without having to accept a loss in safety. In fact, the smooth sheet metal makes climbing up here too prevents.
In one as in the other of the two embodiments, the side walls of the hollow profile can be designed to be corrugated in such a way that the waves run parallel to the direction of the road.
The advantage of the corrugated design of the guide device according to the invention is firstly in an increased rigidity of the hollow profile, which does not conflict with its elasticity in the longitudinal direction, and secondly in a protection against climbing.
Furthermore, according to the invention, provision can be made to equip the hollow profile with internal stiffeners, which can be continuous or punctiform.
The supports used to fasten the guide device according to the invention are preferably hollow bodies of any profile, which are embedded on the one hand in the floor and on the other hand protrude into the recesses provided in the hollow profile.
The supports can be made in two parts, one part serving as a base socket and the other being inserted first into the hollow profile and then into the base socket.
Another embodiment provides a three-part support and conceives two identical parts for insertion into the floor and insertion into the hollow profile recess, while the third part has a central bead and serves as a connecting piece for the first two parts.
According to the invention, the supports are provided with a predetermined breaking point at floor level.
