Металл-алюмофосфатные молекулярные сита и частицы катализатора на основе металл-алюмофосфатного молекулярного сита защищают от ухудшения свойств водой, поддерживая указанные молекулярные сита или катализаторы в контакте с жидкой смесью спирта и воды, содержащей от 45 до 99,8 мас.% спирта. Металл-алюмофосфатные молекулярные сита и частицы катализатора на основе металл-алюмофосфатного молекулярного сита, защищенные указанным образом, катализируют превращение сырья в углеводороды.
