Claims (13)

1. Fremgangsmåde til produktion af et alkali-chitosan med lavt indhold af endotoxin, hvilken fremgangsmåde omfatter følgende trin: (a) at bringe chitosan i kontakt med en alkalisk opløsning med en koncentration på fra 0,01 M til 0,2 M for dannelse en blanding; og (b) at lade blandingen stå i det mindste 12 timer.
2. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 1, hvor fremgangsmåden yderligere omfatter et trin (c) med tørring af blandingen, hvor tørringstrinnet eventuelt udføres i en ovn.
3. Fremgangsmåde ifølge ethvert af de foregående krav, hvor alkaliopløsningen omfatter en alkali- eller alkalisk jordkomponent valgt blandt følgende, enten alene eller i kombination: metalhydroxider, metalcarbonater, metalbisulfiter, metalpersilikater, konjugerede baser og ammoniumhydroxid, hvor metallet eventuelt er valgt blandt natrium, kalium, calcium eller magnesium og hvor den alkaliske komponent eventuelt er valgt blandt natriumhydroxid, kaliumhydroxid eller natriumcarbonat; og/eller hvor den alkaliske opløsning sprøjtes på chitosanet eller chitosanet blandes med den alkaliske opløsning.
4. Fremgangsmåde ifølge ethvert af de foregående krav, hvor blandingen henstår i det mindste 48 timer i trin (b) og eventuelt i omkring to til fire uger; og/eller hvor blandingen henstår i en ren beholder og/eller under en inaktiv atmosfære.
5. Fremgangsmåde ifølge ethvert af de foregående krav, hvor blandingen yderligere omfatter et konserveringsmiddel eventuelt valgt blandt sølvioner, zinkioner, chlor-hexadin eller kombinationer deraf.
6. Alkalisk chitosan med lavt endotoxinindhold opnåeligt ved fremgangsmåden ifølge ethvert af kravene 1 til 5; eller et neutralt chitosan, et chitosansalt eller et chitosanderivat med lavt endotoxinindhold, som kan opnås ved fremgangsmåden ifølge ethvert af kravene 7 til 11.
7. Fremgangsmåde til fremstilling af neutralt chitosan, et chitosansalt eller et chitosanderivat med lavt endotoxinindhold, omfattende trinnene med at bringe et alkalisk chitosan fremstillet ved fremgangsmåden ifølge ethvert af kravene 1 til 5 i kontakt med en syre.
8. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 7, hvor trinnet med et bringe det alkaliske chitosan i kontakt med en syre udføres før tørringstrinnet (c) ifølge ethvert af kravene 2 til 5; og hvor syren eventuelt sprøjtes på det alkaliske chitosan eller det alkaliske chitosan blandes med syren.
9. Fremgangsmåde ifølge ethvert af kravene 7 til 8, hvor syren vælges blandt følgende, enten alene eller i kombination: organiske syrer eventuelt valgt blandt følgende, enten alene eller i kombination: eddikesyre, vinsyre, citronsyre, ascorbinsyre, acetylsalicylsyre, gluconsyre og mælkesyre; carboxylsyrer; fedtsyrer eventuelt valgt blandt følgende, enten alene eller i kombination: myristoleinsyre, palmitoleinsyre, sapiensyre, oleinsyre, elaidinsyre, vaccensyre, linoleinsyre, linoelaidinsyre, α-linolensyre, arachidonsyre, eicosapentaensyre, erucasyre, docosahexaensyre, caprylsyre, caprinsyre, laurinsyre, myristinsyre, palmitinsyre, stearinsyre, arachidinsyre, behensyre, lignocerinsyre, cero-tinsyre; aminosyrer eventuelt valgt blandt følgende, enten alene eller i kombination: histidin, lysin, asparaginsyre, glutaminsyre, glutamin, glycin, prolin, taurin; Lewis-syrer; monoprotiske syrer; diprotiske syrer; polyprotiske syrer; nucleinsyrer; og mineralske syrer eventuelt valgt blandt følgende enten alene eller i kombination: saltsyre, svovlsyre og salpetersyre, og/eller hvor syren har en koncentration på 1 M.
10. Fremgangsmåde ifølge ethvert af kravene 7 til 9, hvor syren foreligger som en syrevæske omfattende syren og et ikke-opløsningsmiddel, eventuelt valgt blandt ethyl-lactat, ethylacetat, methylacetat, ethanol, acetone, 80:20 blanding af ethanokvand eller blandinger deraf; og hvor forholdet mellem chitosan og syrevæske eventuelt er fra 5:1 til 1:5; og/eller hvor det alkaliske chitosan blandes med syren i 5 minutter.
11. Fremgangsmåde ifølge ethvert af kravene 7 til 10, som yderligere omfatter trinnet med tørring af reaktionsproduktet, hvor tørringstrinnet eventuelt udføres i en ovn eller ved filtrering af produktet igennem en lufttørrer.
12. Chitosansalt med lavt endotoxinindhold ifølge krav 6, til anvendelse som et hæmo-statikum til standsning af blodstrømning eller til anvendelse i en sårforbinding til overfladisk ikke-livstruende blødning eller livstruende blødning.
13. Hæmostatisk sårforbinding omfattende et chitosansalt med lavt endotoxinindhold ifølge krav 6.
