Claims (15)
- Forbedret gæringsproces ved anvendelse af melasser1. Fremgangsmåde til forbedring af gæringsudbyttet fra melasser i et gæringsmedium, hvor melasserne indeholder mindst ét af de ikke-gærbare sukkere, raffinose og/eller stachyose, hvilken fremgangsmåde omfatter etablering af kontakt mellem melasserne og en enzymsammensætning, der mindst omfatter én svampetransglucosidase, der kan hydrolysere ikke-gærbare sukkere, såsom raffinose og/eller stachyose.
- 2. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 1, hvor melasserne er restmelasser fra sukkerrør, high test-rørsukkermelasser, raffinaderiers rørsukker- eller roemelasser produceret som et biprodukt af raffinering af brunt rørsukker for at producere hvidt sukker, roemelasser fra sukkerroer og saft fra citrusmelasse udtrukket fra tørret citruspulp.
- 3. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 1 eller krav 2, hvilken fremgangsmåde endvidere omfatter tilsætning af ét eller flere sekundære enzymer til at hydrolysere granulær stivelse, proteiner og/eller reststivelse i melasserne.
- 4. Fremgangsmåde ifølge et hvilket som helst af de foregående krav, hvor gærbare sukkere fra melasser i gæringsreaktionen omdannes for at opnå slutprodukter, såsom en alkohol, en organisk syre eller et biokemisk specialprodukt.
- 5. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 4, hvor alkoholen er ethanol og/eller den organiske syre er mælkesyre eller citronsyre og/eller det biokemiske specialprodukt er en aminosyre.
- 6. Fremgangsmåde ifølge et hvilket som helst af de foregående krav, hvor fremgangsmåden øger de gærbare sukkere opnået fra melasserne.
- 7. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 6, hvilken fremgangsmåde endvidere omfatter gæring af de gærbare sukkere til slutprodukter i nærvær af gæringsmikroorganismer.
- 8. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 7, hvor etableringen af kontakt og gæringen sker samtidigt, eller hvor etableringen af kontakt er en forbehandling.
- 9. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 7, hvor melasserne omfatter ikke-gærbar stivelse og etableringen af kontakt, forbehandling og/eller gæring forekommer ved en temperatur under gelatineringstemperaturen for den granuløse stivelse.
- 10. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 9, hvor den ikke-gærbare stivelse er en granuløs stivelse.
- 11. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 9, hvor: (a) kontakt- og/eller forbehandlingstemperaturen er under 52 °C; og/eller (b) gæringstemperaturen er fra 15 til 40 °C; og/eller (c) gærings-, kontakt og forbehandlingstemperaturen er fra 15 til 40 °C; og/eller (d) kontakt- og/eller forbehandlingen sker ved et pH fra 2,0 til 7,0; og/eller (e) gæringen sker ved et pH fra 3,5 til 7,0.
- 12. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 6, hvilken fremgangsmåde endvidere omfatter etablering af kontakt mellem melasserne og mindst ét granuløst stivelseshydrolyserende enzym (GSHE), såsom en alpha-amylase eller en glucoamylase.
- 13. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 6, hvilken fremgangsmåde endvidere omfatter etablering af kontakt mellem melasserne og mindst et andet enzym, såsom en hemicellulase, en cellulase, en pectinase, en protease, β-glucosidase, en ikke-GSHE alpha-amylase, og/eller en ikke-GSHE glucoamylase.
- 14. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 13, hvor proteasen er en sur svampeprotease, såsom en sur svampeprotease fra en Aspergillus- eller Trichoderma-art.
- 15. Fremgangsmåde til fremstilling af ethanol ud af melasser, hvilken fremgangsmåde omfatter behandling af melasser i et gæringsmedium efter fremgangsmåden ifølge et hvilket som helst af de foregående krav og det yderligere trin med gæring af melasserne i nærvær af en gæringsorganisme for at producere ethanol.
