Den foreliggende opfindelse angår bis(aminomethyl)bicyklo-[2,2,1]heptan-derivater og en fremgangsmåde til inhibering af udfældning af metalioner fra vandige opløsninger eller til chelatering af metalioner i en vandig opløsning deraf ved 5 anvendelse af derivaterne.
Norbornan er en cyklisk forbindelse, der findes i eller kan opnås ud fra de tilbageværende tunge hydrocarboner i bunden af destillationstårne i anlæg til fremstilling af lette hydrocarboner. Forskellige derivater af norbornan har været 10 fremstillet og blandt disse bis(methylamin). Det er denne forbindelse, der er blevet phosphonomethyleret og/eller alkyl-carboxyleret, som er genstand for den foreliggende opfindelse.
Det er velkendt, at aminer, såsom ethylendiamin og diethylen-triamin kan omsættes med formaldehyd og phosphorsyr ling til op-15 nåelse af methylenphosphonatderivater af aminen, hvori me-thylenphosphonatgruppen

2q Anvendelsen af methylenphosphonsyresubstituerede alkylen-polyaminer til metalionkontrol i mindre end støkiometriske mængder bev foreslået i et patent (US-patentskrift nr. 2.609.390), der blev udstedt i 1952. Senere blev et vand-dispergerbart polymert amin-chelatdannende middel, som inde-holdt alkylenphosphonatderivater, omtalt som havende "tærskel"-virkninger ved anvendelse til inhibering af kedelsten (se US-patentskrift nr. 3.331.773), idet dette udtryk benyttes til beskrivelse af anvendelsen af midlet i mindre end støkiometriske mængder. 15 Det har nu vist sig, at hidtil ukendte chelatdannende og tærskel-midler til inhibering af udfældning af metalioner kan fremstilles ud fra bis (methylamin) derivaterne af norbor- . nan. hvori substituenterne A, B, X og Y uafhængigt af hinanden er valgt blandt methyl enphosphonsyregruppen og alkylcarboxylsyre-grupper (med 2-4 carbonatomer) samt alkali- eller jordalka-limetal-, ammonium- og aminsalte af phosphon- eller carboxyl-5 syrederivaterne.
Fremgangsmåder til opnåelse af carboxyl syrederivater af forbindelser med formlen I er velkendte.
Carboxylsyregruppen kan indføres i stedet for et amin-hydrogen-atom ved omsætning af aminen i vandig opløsning med et passen- 10 de nitril, såsom glycolonitril og acrylonitril, i nærværelse af baseoverskud (NaOH) og ved efterfølgende omdannelse af saltformen af syregruppen til den frie carboxyl syregruppe i overensstemmelse med den velkendte procedure.
Med hensyn til fremstillingen af aminsalte af syregrupperne er omsætningen velkendt. I Richter’s 3.udgave (1952) af hans Textbook of Organic Chemistry, side 246, er det anført, at "Amines of all classes, like ammonia, are basic substances and readily react with acids to form ionizable salts".
Opfindelsen angår endvidere en fremgangsmåde til inhibering af 20 udfældning af metalioner fra vandige opløsninger, hvilken fremgangsmåde er ejendommelig ved, at man til nævnte opløsninger i mindre end støkiometriske mængder, baseret på de tilstedeværende metalioner, sætter en forbindelse med formlen DK 169106 B1 5 hvori subs ti tuenterne A, B, X og Y hver uafhængigt af hinanden er valgt blandt methylenphosphonsyregruppen og alkylcarboxyl-syrsgrupper (med 2-4 carbonatomer) samt alkali- eller jord-alkalimetal-, ammonium- og aminsalte deraf, idet mindst én af 5 nævnte substituenter er en methylenphosphonsyregruppe eller et sale deraf.
Opfindelsen angår endelig en fremgangsmåde til chelatering af metalioner i en vandig opløsning deraf, hvilken fremgangsmåde er ejendommelig ved, at man dertil sætter i det mindste en 10 støkiometrisk mængde, regnet i forhold til de tilstedeværende metalioner, af en forbindelse med formlen

hvori substituenterne A, B, X og Y hver uafhængigt af hinanden er valgt blandt methylenphosphonsyregruppen og alkylcarboxyl-syregrupper (med 2-4 carbonatomer) og alkali- eller jordalka-15 limetal-, ammonium- og aminsalte deraf.
De følgende eksempler illustrerer fremstillingen og anvendelsen af de omhandlede forbindelser ifølge opfindelsen. Identifikation af forbindelserne sker ved henvisning til den ovenfor nævnt formel I.
20 EKSEMPEL 1.
Destilleret vand (10 g) og H^PO^ (9,9 g) blev afvejet i en 50 ral rundbundet kolbe, der var udstyret med en vandkølet 25 svaler, et termometer, en omrøres tang og en tilsætningstragt. Koncentreret HCl (11,8 g) blev derpå tilsat, og DK 169106 B1 6 3,9 g (2(3) ,5(6)-bis(aminomethyl)bicyklo[2,2,IJheptan blev langsomt tilsat under omrøring. Opløsningen blev opvarmet under tilbagesvaling i ca. en time, og 37% vandig formaldehydopløsning (8,51 g) blev tilsat over et tidsrum på 2 1/2 5 time. Opløsningen blev opvarmet i yderligere 3 timer under tilbagesvaling. Den dannede forbindelse var det fuldstændigt phosphonomethylerede norbornanderivat, hvori hvert af symbolerne A, B, X og Y stod for raethylenphosphonsyregrupper, -ch2po3h2.
1 o EKSEMPEL 2.
Proceduren ifølge eksempel 1 blev fulgt med tilsætning af I5 3 molækvivalenter formaldehyd (24,3 g af en 37% opløsning) og phorphorsyrling (25,1 g) til 1 molækvivalent 2(3),5(6)-bis(aminomethyl)bicyklo[2,2,1]heptan (15,2 g). Den resulterende opløsning blev neutraliseret med NaOH (vandig), og der tilsattes 1 molækvivalent glycolonitril (14,7 g af en 38% 20 opløsning) og NaOH (13,8 g af en 33,3% opløsning). Den dannede forbindelse var natriumsaltet af bicykloheptanderivatet, som havde et gennemsnit på 3 methylenphosphonsyregrupper og 1 carboxymethylgruppe pr. molekyle som A-, B-, X- og Y- substituenter.
25 EKSEMPEL 3.
En mængde (15,2 g, 0,1 mol) 1(2),4(5)-bis(aminomethyl)bicyklo-3 0 [2,2,1]heptan blev anbragt i et rustfrit stålbægerglas, og 50 ml destilleret vand blev tilsat, efterfulgt af tilsætning af 37 ml 50% NaOH. Denne opløsning blev opvarmet til ca.
70°C under omrøring, og carboxymethylering blev foretaget ved dråbevis tilsætning af 58,9 g 38% glycolonitril under 35 vedvarende opvarmning i løbet af et tidsrum på en time.
Efter ca. 15 minutter af tilsætningen var temperaturen på tilbagesvalingstemperatur, og NH^ blev frigjort. Destille- DK 169106 B1 7 ret vand blev periodisk tilsat til erstatning af'fordampet vand. Efter afslutning af tilsætningen af glycolonitril opvarmedes opløsningen i yderligere en time under omrøring og rensning med Den dannede forbindelse var tetracarb- 5 oxylmethylderivatet, hvori A, B, X og Y var CH^-COONa.
Anvendeligheden af forbindelserne ifølge opfindelsen blev fasrslået ved udførelse af kedelstens-inhiberingsforsøg i overensstemmelse med National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACA)-forsøgsmetode TM-03-74. Inhiberingsresultaterne iO for calciumcarbonat-kedelsten er vist i tabel I og er sammenlignet med en i handelen værende kedelstens-inhibitor, aminotri(methylenphosphonsyre). Inhibering af calciumsulfat- kedelsten blev også afprøvet, og resultaterne er vist i tabel II. Også fuldstændig phosphonomethyleret polyethylenimin 15 (PMPEI) og fuldstændig phosphonomethyleret diethylentriamin (PMDETA) blev afprøvet for inhibering af calciumcarbonat - og calciumsulfat-kedelsten, og resultaterne heraf er også vist i tabellerne I og II. Resultaterne for disse to sidst nævnte kendte forbindelser tjener til sammenligning af forbindelser-20 ne, der kendes fra US patentskrifterne nr. 2.609.390 og 2.599.807, med forbindelserne ifølge opfindelsen.

Sammenligningen mellem de kendte forbindelser PMPEI og PMDETA og forbindelserne fremstillet ifølge eksemplerne 1 og 2 viser 5 en overlegen virkning af de omhandlede norbornan-afledte forbindelser ifølge opfindelsen i forhold til polyethyleniminen med høj molekylvægt (PEI) (molekylvægt 1200) i begge tabeller I og II og i forhold til diethylentriaminen (DETA) med lav molekylvægt i tabel I, idet tabel II her viser en i det væ-10 sentlige tilsvarende virkning.
Anvendeligheden af forbindelserne ifølge opfindelsen i henseende til at fungere som chelateringsmidler blev demonstreret ved titrering af forbindelserne med standardkobberopløs-ning i nærværelse af chrom-azurol-S-indikator. Forbindelsen 15 ifølge eksempel 1 blev titreret og viste sig at danne kompleks med tilnærmelsesvis 1/5 mol kobber pr. mol ligand. Denne forbindelse kan fungere som enten en tærskelforbindelse eller et chelateringsmiddel.
Claims (11)
1. Bis (aminomethyl)bicyklo [2,2, l] heptan-derivater, kendetegnet ved, at de har strukturformlen A\ γΓΤχ /X T hvori substituenterne A, B, X og Y hver uafhængigt af hinanden 15 er valgt blandt methylenphosphonsyregruppen og alkylcarboxyl-syregrupper (med 2-4 carbonatomer) samt alkali- eller jord-alkalimetal-, ammonium- og aminsalte af phosphon- eller carboxyl syrederivaterne .
2. Forbindelse ifølge krav l, kendetegnet ved, at 20 alle substituenterne A, B, X og Y er methylenphosphonsyregrup- per.
3. Forbindelser ifølge krav 1, kendetegnet ved, at mindst ét af symbolerne A, B, X og Y betegner en methylenphos-phonsyregruppe. DK 169106 B1
4. Forbindelser ifølge krav 1, kendetegnet ved, at ét af symbolerne A, B, X og Y betegner en carboxymethyl gruppe, og at de øvrige tre betegner methylenphosphonsyregrupper.
5. Forbindelser ifølge krav l, kendetegnet ved, at 5 hvert af symbolerne A, B, X og Y betegner -CH2COONa.
6. 7. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 6, kendetegnet ved, at substituentsaltet af methylenphosphonsyregruppen er et alkalimetalsalt .
8. Fremgangsmåde til chelatering af metalioner i en vandig opløsning deraf, kendetegnet ved, at man dertil sætter i det mindste en støkiometrisk mængde, regnet i forhold til de tilstedeværende metalioner, af en forbindelse med formlen i DK 169106 B1 hvori substituenterne A, B, X og Y hver uafhængigt af hinanden er valgt blandt methylenphosphonsyregruppen og alkylcarboxyl-syregrupper (med 2-4 carbonatomer) og alkali- eller jordal-kalimetal-, ammonium- og aminsalte deraf.
9. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 8, kendetegnet ved, at A, B, X og Y hver er methylenphosphonsyregrupper eller salt-formen deraf.
10. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 8, kendetegnet ved, at hvert af symbolerne A, B, X og Y betegner carboxymethyl- 10 grupper eller saltformen deraf.
