Abstract
A heat insulated pipe has an inner tube and a corrugated plastic outer tube, with the annular space between them filled with synthetic foam. The pipe is made by surrounding the inner tube with a film shaped to form a hose, filling the space with foamable synthetic and passing it through a mould made up of movable half-moulds. The foaming synthetic presses the film hose into the corrugations of the mould. The outer tube is then extruded on to the corrugated surface of the hose and is shaped into the corrugated form of the hose immediately after leaving the extruder die.
