Es sind Zerkleinerungsmaschinen für Nahrungsmittel u. dgl. bekannt, die ein von einem Elektromötor mit hoher Drehzahl angetriebenes Schneidwerkzeug besitzen, mittels dessen die Nahrungsmittel in kurzer Zeit zerkleinert werden können. Das Zerkleinerungswerkzeug, das abwechselnd in der einen oder entgegengesetzten Drehrichtung antreibbar sein kann, besitzt gewöhnlich mehrere Arme, deren Arbeitskanten als messerartige Schneiden ausgebildet sind. Die Erfindung beruht nun auf der Erkenntnis, daß zum Zerkleinern von festeren Nahrungsmitteln u. dgl., wie z. B. Kaffeebohnen, Hülsenfrüchte, Gewürzkörner usw., eine bessere und schnellere Zerkleinerung dann erreicht wird, wenn die Arbeitskanten des Zerkleinerungswerkzeuges nicht schneidenartig, sondern stumpf bzw. flächig ausgebildet sind, weil hierdurch mehr Teilchen mit Sicherheit getroffen und zertrümmert werden. Die Erfindung zeigt eine Zerkleinerungsmaschine, die so eingerichtet ist, daß mit ihr beide Behandlungsmethoden der Nahrungsmittel ohne weiteres durchgeführt werden können.There are grinding machines for food and the like. Läßt man die das Zerkleinerungswerkzeug tragende Welle in solcher Drehrichtung laufen, daß die scharfen Schneidkanten zur Wirkung kommen, so kann man eine solche Zerkleinerungsvorrichtung in der bisher üblichen Weise mit besonderem Vorteil zum Zerkleinern von weichen Nahrungsmitteln, wie z. B. Kartoffeln, Gemüse und Früchte verwenden, während nach Umschalten der Drehrichtung die Zerkleinerungsmaschine insbesondere zum schnellen und wirksamen Zerkleinern von festeren Teilchen, wie z. B. Kaffeebohnen, Hülsenfrüchten, Gewürzkörnern u. dgl., geeignet ist. Die Schneidkantender Arme 3, 4, 5 und 6 sind, wie die Abbildung zeigt, abwechselnd nach oben . und unten abgeschrägt, um zu vermeiden, daß bei der Behandlung von flüssigen Stoffen eine unerwünschte nach oben gerichtete Strömung in dem Arbeitsbehälter entsteht.
