Description
The invention relates to a wall element for the construction of natural wood buildings.
Natural wood buildings are generally used here to describe buildings whose visible walls are formed by the natural surface of trees. These can be rooms that are closed on all sides, but can also be only partially closed, such as pavilions, shelters, etc. In the simplest case, such buildings only comprise a single room.
The best-known example of such natural wood buildings is the log cabin, which is particularly common in Nordic countries. It is characterized by a natural, almost rustic construction method, in which solid round logs are stacked horizontally on top of each other in the total length of the respective house or building wall (= width or depth of the house or building) and connected to each other at their ends, in particular by mortising. In this construction method, only material that grows well and is approximately the same thickness can be used. It must therefore be carefully selected from the mass of felled wood. It is therefore correspondingly expensive.
Schließlich ist es in aller Regel erforderlich, die ZtUS Blockhsüsbsu benötitTtsri 3aiimEtMmmii *n **■* -A further disadvantage is that the full tree trunks, which are often very long, have a considerable weight, so that they can usually only be processed with lifting gear. seinen Transport sowie seine Verarbeitung erweist sich der Bau eines Blockhauses letztlich als recht &Idigr;- S teuer.Because of its transport and processing, the construction of a log house ultimately turns out to be quite &Idigr;- expensive.

Propose a wall element for the construction of natural wood buildings, in which shorter tree trunks of lower weight and of different thicknesses can be used. At the same time, the existing structural advantages as well as the optical and aesthetic appeal of natural wood should be preserved.

Gelöst wird diese Aufgabe nach dem Vorschlag derThis task is solved according to the proposal of the
Invention in that longitudinal sections of round logs cut to room height and straightened laterally are vertically aligned and butted laterally to form a visible layer, whereby they are permanently connected to a counter layer made of wood covering the joints.
Da sichAs can be seen, the wall element mentioned is the result of a fundamentally changed construction method. jü solid material is now replaced by a composite material, where a certain thickness of the round logs as a whole is no longer important, but only of the corresponding longitudinal sections. The latter can, however, be obtained from edge logs of different thicknesses, whereby only intermediate pieces (planks) of different thicknesses are produced, which can generally be reused. This makes it possible to use even low-class , i.e. cheaper wood. Since
die genannten Längsabschnitte bereits mit üblichen Handgeräten (nämlich Motorsägen, wie sie zum Zuschnei·the aforementioned longitudinal sections have already been cut with conventional hand tools (namely chainsaws, such as those used for cutting

Instead of the full width or depth as a length measurement, only the much lower room height is now taken into account. This means a significant reduction in the weight of the components that have to be handled during assembly. As a result, a construction method is opened up that allows craftsmen to build the desired natural wood structures without any additional help if necessary. Finally, the construction (.ilestandte i Ie) and assembly of the proposed wall element are so clear and simple that its implementation can now even be a matter for do-it-yourselfers.
The proposed vertical arrangement of the longitudinal sections also achieves another, by no means insignificant, advantage. In log houses, for example, a noticeable shrinkage of the round logs in their diameter must be taken into account .
From log to log, the amounts are small, but they add up to 15 cm or more for normal room heights. This means that with conventional log house construction, the ceiling, roof, etc. can be expected to sink by up to 15 cm or more as the wood dries out. This can be quite disruptive and sometimes problematic compared to other solid components, such as chimneys, etc., which are not subject to such shrinkage.
The invention now makes use of this fact, so that the undesirable sinking of the walls with the

The proposed wall structure is not only suitable for external walls, but also for internal and partition walls. This results in practically the same advantages.
The counter layer is also expediently made up of room-high lengths and laterally horizontal longitudinal sections of round logs which are vertically aligned and butted together laterally. The individual components (longitudinal sections) of the counter layer are offset laterally from those of the visible layer in order to cover their joints. In this embodiment, the counter layer also takes on a visual and aesthetic function by simultaneously forming another visible layer.
In a further development of the inventive concept, boards, planks or similar running parallel to one another are attached behind the visible layer as additional components of the counter layer. This is a type of sandwich construction in which the individual longitudinal sections of the visible layer and counter layer no longer necessarily have to be arranged laterally offset from one another.
The boards, planks or similar are expediently arranged at a distance from one another. This embodiment can be used to save material, create insulation spaces, set up ventilation ducts and/or provide installation slots.
It is advantageous if adjacent boards, planks or similar are shortened slightly alternately at the head and foot of the wall element. In this design, the aforementioned gaps are connected to each other in a meandering shape, which further serves the purposes already mentioned,
The individual components are expediently nailed or screwed together to achieve a permanent connection. This is a widely used connection technique which also proves to be convenient and sufficient for the purposes of the invention.

However, this requires a suitable diameter for the round log 1. With thicker round logs, an intermediate piece is also created in the middle, which is later used as a plank.

In a second processing step, the longitudinal sections 2 are straightened laterally, namely by two parallel cuts, which are made in such a way that a flat contact surface of a certain height, for example between 1 and 6 cm, is created on each side.
Die Längsabschnitte 2 sind raumhoch, was je nach BestimmungAccording to Fig. 2, such longitudinal sections 2 are vertically aligned and butted against each other laterally. They form a visible layer 3. The individual longitudinal sections 2 are permanently connected to a counter layer 4, namely nailed. The counter layer 4 covers the joints of the longitudinal sections 2 of the visible layer 3. As can be seen, the counter layer 4 here also consists of longitudinal sections 2 which are laterally offset from the longitudinal sections 2 of the visible layer 3. This allows the joints to be covered and results in a stable composite structure. Even if shrinkage and gaps form at the joints as a result of natural drying, this does not cause any significant problems, as no continuous gaps are created and these can easily be closed again with suitable filling material if necessary. The longitudinal sections 2 are room-high, which, depending on the purpose,
des Raumes eine unterschiedliche Höhe bedeuten kann. 35of the room can mean a different height. 35
Sandwich-BauweiseAs can be seen from Fig. 5, the inventive concept can also be implemented in a so-called sandwich construction

Fig. 4). Die einzelnen Bestandteile können lagenweise (siehe insbesondere Fig. 3) odei durchgehend (siehe Fig. 4) miteinander verbunden, d.h. hier vernagelt werden.realize in which boards (planks) 5 are inserted between the longitudinal sections 2 of the visible layer 3 and the longitudinal sections 2 of the counter layer 1. Together with the longitudinal sections 2 of the counter layer 4, they cover the joints of the longitudinal sections 2 of the visible layer 3. In this case, it is no longer necessary for the longitudinal sections 2 on both sides to be arranged laterally offset from one another; rather, in this case, the longitudinal sections 2 are advantageously aligned with one another, whereby the boards 5 can cover the joints on both sides at the same time (see Fig. 4). The individual components can be connected to one another in layers (see Fig. 3 in particular) or continuously (see Fig. 4), i.e. nailed here.
As can be seen from the figures, the boards 5 stand upright and run parallel to each other, so that together with the longitudinal sections 2 of the visible layer 3 and counter layer 4 they form gaps 6. These can also be connected to each other, for example by alternately shortening the boards 5 at the head and foot of the wall element according to Fig. 5. This results in a meandering passage between the visible layer 3 and the counter layer 4, as shown by the arrows 7. This can be used in particular for ventilation purposes, for carrying installation material and much more.
The invention proposes a wall element that can be made sufficiently strong for different requirements, in particular for a load-bearing function. Additional insulation is generally unnecessary. The costs, especially for DIY construction, are extremely low.

The construction of a house generally begins with half-logs being set up at the statically important points and anchored to a foundation. This is followed by horizontal beams as the lower abutment 8 and upper abutment 9 for the wall element described above, as shown in Figs. 6 and 7. In addition, a sheet of foil 10 is provided behind the visible layer 3 as a barrier layer. The rest of the structure is as follows.
The foundation 11 is followed by floor insulation 12 and floor covering 13. Above the upper abutment 9 are roof rafters 14 and ceiling beams 15, the latter being covered from below with a cladding 16 and from above with a floor covering 17. In between there is insulation material. If the upper abutment 9 is to take on a static function, for example to support the roof rafters 14, as shown in the example in Fig., it must be dimensioned accordingly stronger. This can result in a slightly different upper finish for the wall element, namely such that the upper abutment 9 now runs in the full width of the counter layer 4 including the boards 5.
