Description
Process for the production of polishing agents for paint and plastic surfaces Up to now, wax preparations have been used to polish paint and plastic surfaces Polishing agents made from oil @ emulsions, which are often mechanically acting, polishing agents such as Silica chalk, kieselguhr, kaolin and the like are added.
Most of these polishing agents also contain solvents that have the purpose of leveling and higher through weak dissolution of the surface To achieve a gloss effect.
Furthermore, polishing agents are known which contain organic acids. One has z. B. proposed to make a polishing agent from citric acid, hydrochloric acid, Oxalic acid, molasses and a fat- and oil-dissolving acid such as butyric acid, formic acid, Propionic acid or lactic acid. For one made from water, mineral oil, and colloidal clay A polishing agent consisting of an abrasive is an additive of a mixture of Oxalic acid and tartaric acid are suggested. Another well-known cleaning and polishing agent consists of a non-soapy emulsion of water, oil, vegetable glue and a Astringent agents, the latter being understood as: tartaric acid, salicylic acid, Tannic acid, gallic acid, benzoic acid and others. These polishes serve their purpose only imperfect. The polishing effect is often not sufficient. The shine is in proportion too little for the work involved. The persistence of the gloss is short-lived Duration. In the case of transparent plastics, the transparency becomes mostly impaired by fogging. For soft, transparent plastics the surface is usually even scratched by such polishing agents.
According to the invention, this drawback is surprisingly eliminated the addition of small amounts of glycolic acid to a compound composed in a manner known per se, practically neutral polish eliminated. The shine of using such a polish polished surface of a paint or plastic is much larger and more durable. The surface is free from haze and cloudiness. The buffing goes considerably more quickly.
In the case of transparent plastics, the transparency and permeability to light are considerably increased. The view is clear and haze-free. Existing scratches are almost completely removed. Any deeper scratches are lightened so much in the contours that they hardly affect the transparency. The formation of scratches from the polishing itself is prevented. Embodiment 10% solvent, 15% paraffin oil, 50/0 castor oil, 2% emulsifier, 25% silica chalk, 42% water, 1% glycolic acid. The addition of this acid can be varied within wide limits without impairing the effect.
