The invention relates to a transport container, in particular for temperature-sensitive goods such as blood products, with a thermally insulating housing consisting of a base part and a lid.

Such transport containers are used, for example, to transport whole blood, blood plasma or donated organs; however, there are also areas of application outside of medical technology, e.g. for transporting food samples or photographic material.

For longer transport routes, it is necessary to cool this temperature-sensitive content to a certain temperature that is significantly below the ambient temperature. For this purpose, it is known to use so-called eutectic cold storage, i.e. cooling elements that are usually pre-cooled outside the transport area and, when housed inside the transport container, can maintain a certain temperature there for a very long time.

As a rule, several of the temperature-sensitive goods described are stored in such transport containers, e.g. a number of blood units and blood plasma packs, which should ideally be kept in a certain position during transport.

The idea behind the invention is therefore essentially to insert wall elements into the interior of the transport container, which are simultaneously used as eutectic cold storage and thus make an additional contribution to the desired temperature stabilization in the interior of the transport container. The solution according to the invention therefore offers a double benefit, namely an improvement in the temperature constancy over longer periods of time in the interior of the transport container and a certain security and separation of the temperature-sensitive goods in the interior.

In an advantageous embodiment, it is provided that the cold storage elements are made of two wall parts that can be inserted into one another perpendicularly, for which purpose the wall parts have slots facing one another that extend approximately over half their height.
