Heavy current and high voltage cables with paper insulation Heavy current
and high-voltage cables with paper insulation must be applied after the paper layers have been applied
for known reasons are soaked with a liquid isolating agent to a
Complete filling of the spaces between the individual layers and the cavities
to achieve in paper. Oil is usually used as the impregnating agent. Owns oil
good insulation properties with high dielectric strength, so that it can be used as an impregnating agent
in itself is very suitable. But oil is very thin, so that special without application
Precautions there is a risk of cavitation. For this reason it is common
add resin to the oil to make it more viscous and sticky. This will
although the formation of cavities in the insulation is largely avoided, the admixture
of resin has the disadvantage that the loss angle of the existing paper and oil
Insulation becomes worse and, above all, temperature-dependent to a large extent. the
The size and the course of the loss angle are of considerable influence on the
permissible load on the cable. According to the invention, as an impregnating agent for heavy current
and high-voltage cables with paper insulation polymerized but still liquid
Isobutylene can be used. Isobutylene has insulation value and
Dielectric strength properties equivalent to those of oil. It is rubber-like in spite of its resemblance to rubber
The structure is not sensitive to ozone, and the insulation consists of paper and isobutylene
has a low loss angle, which is largely independent of the
Cable temperature is. For this reason, it is possible to use isobutylene
To be able to load cables higher than the oil-soaked ones mentioned in the introduction, so
that, in spite of the much higher price of isdbutylene, an increase in the price of the cable
does not occur.
The use of isobutylene is known per se in cable technology.
It is already known to produce insulating tapes with isobutylene. Here comes
it only depends on the use of the good adhesiveness of isobutylene.
It is also known to use isobutylene in submarine cables containing gutta-percha
and rubber are insulated to be used as a pressure equalization
-turn around.
For this proposal is decisive. that the isobutylene in addition to good insulating
Properties of the insulation mentioned is not or only slightly adsorbed.
It has also been suggested to use isobutylene in place of
Add resin to the known impregnating compound consisting of col. This suggestion
does not, however, lead to a decisive improvement in the impregnating agent, because how
Experiments have shown is only when isobutylene is used
as an impregnating agent, an improvement in the loss angle in large temperature ranges
to achieve.
