In Helvetica chimica acta, BandXV,
Process for the production of polyazo dyes Azo dyes which contain two permanent azo groups have so far hardly been produced and have been investigated for their technical usability. In Helvetica chimica acta, BandXV, 1932, Seiteiioff.ündi342ff., Ruggli et al. Described simple representatives of this dye compound. They couple 2, 7-dioxynaphth: aline twice with energetically coupling diazo compounds, they also couple dianotated p-aminobenzenesulfonic acid or dianotated aminobenzene in alkaline solution with i-amino-7-oxynaphthal.in, -diazotize this periaminoazo compound with 2azo azo compound and then couple the diazoazo compound further -Oxynaphthalene or i; 3-dioxybenzene. In this way they obtain peridisazo dyes, the structure of which is demonstrated by splitting the dyes. Likewise, azo dyes without salt-forming groups are listed in patent specification q.32 426, which are developed into peridisazo dyes on the fiber. It has now been found that valuable polyazo dyes which contain permanent azo groups are obtained if azo dyes are used where A denotes the radical of an azo dye which contains a diamine, an oxy or dioxy compound of the benzene series as a final component, B denotes one of these final components or A, X denotes hydrogen or the amino group and n denotes an integer and Y denotes hydrogen or S 03H or, if X stands for hydrogen, can also mean the group N = N-aryl, is built up in such a way that aminoazo dyes derived from an i- or 2-amino-7-oxynaphthalene are in the 8-position or contain azo groups in the 8- and i-position of the naphthalene nucleus, at least one diazotizable amino group and at least one solubilizing group in the radical coupled in the 8-position, are dianotized or tetrazotized and combined with couplable diamines or oxy or dioxy compounds of the benzene series.
in alkalischem Mittel kuppeln, w-iede=-verseifen, diazotieren bzw. tetrazotieren
These new polyazo dyes can be prepared in such a way that
i-_Amino-7-oxynaplithalin, for example, is chosen as the starting compound, this one

saponified the dye and then, as described above, further tetrazotized and

Sulfonic acids, optionally also in the form of their aryl sulfonic acid esters, diazotize,
combine with a couplable amino compound or final component, the
If necessary, saponify the dye, if necessary also phosgenate, then

Sulphonic acids run out, which twice, in acidic and alkaline solution, with one-
Diazo compound are coupled, whereupon the peridisazo dye, as before
described, is further converted into a polyazo dye. Finally can
one also pre-gel in such a way that residues are introduced in the 8- or in the 8- and i-positions,
whose diazotizable amino groups have already been dianotized and with couplable diamino
or oxy or dioxy compounds of the benzene series are combined.
Beispiel i 13,6 Gewichtsteile

The resulting polyazo @ dyes dye vegetable fibers directly and, depending on their final component, can be developed with i-diazo-4-nitrobenzene or 2-oxynaphthalene or treated with salts of copper or chromium. They are superior in terms of lightfastness to similar dyes, from which they differ in the position of the azo groups in the naphthalene nucleus. Example i 13.6 parts by weight of amino-3-formylaminobenzene are stirred into 60 parts by weight of cold water and dissolved by adding 28 parts by weight of hydrochloric acid (D. 1.15) to form an aqueous suspension. A solution of 6.9 parts by weight of sodium nitrite is added to the solution at 0 °. The diazo solution is allowed to run at 0 ° to 2 ° to a solution of 23.9 parts by weight of i-amino-7-oxy naplithalin-3-sulfonic acid in the presence of 28 parts by weight of sodium carbonate. When the coupling is complete, the solution of the monoazo dye formed is added finitely to 135 parts by weight of sodium hydroxide solution (D. i.36) and the mixture is heated to 40 to 1 ° for 2 hours to saponify the formyl group. By adding i, -o (@iw ichtteileii hydrochloric acid (D. r, i5), the dye is deposited and this is then separated off. The dye paste is dissolved in about 1 zoo parts by weight of water with the addition of a little 1, sodium hydroxide solution 15 parts by weight of sodium nitrite and 70 parts by weight of hydrochloric acid (D. 1.15) are added and the mixture is tetrazotized for 1 to 2 hours By gradually adding a solution of 3-5 parts by weight of sodium acetate, the coupling is completed within about 6 hours .. Then the solution is neutralized with sodium carbonate and the trisazo dye formed is separated off which dyes cotton in a yellow-brown tone, and after-treatment with i-Diazo-.:l-nitrobenzene turns it into a lightfast red-brown n received. The dye has verinutlicli the composition: Example e 39.3 parts by weight of the p-toluenesulfonic acid ester of i-amino-7-oxynaphthalene-4 sulfonic acid are dissolved in 700 parts by weight of water, 28 parts by weight of hydrochloric acid (D. i, 15) are added and a solution of 6, 9 parts by weight of sodium nitrite are dianotized at 22 to 25 ° for about 2 hours. Then, 0.7 parts by weight of i-amino-3-methylbenzene, dissolved in a little water and 14 parts by weight of hydrochloric acid (D. i, 15), are added to the diazo solution. The coupling is by gradually adding dropwise a solution of 15 parts by weight of sodium acetate within 2q. Hours led to the end. The separated dye paste is stirred in 500 parts by weight of water, 250 parts by weight of sodium hydroxide solution (D. 1.36) are added and the mixture is heated to 80 ° to 85 ° for 3 hours. After the saponification has taken place, the solution turns red-brown. By adding 250 parts by weight of hydrochloric acid (D. i, ig), the monoazo dye is precipitated and filtered off with suction. The dye paste is dissolved in about Soo parts by weight of water with the addition of a small amount of sodium carbonate and the solution in the presence of 28 parts by weight of sodium carbonate with a diazo solution prepared from 13.6 parts by weight of i-amino-3-formylaminobenzene according to Example i at -5 to - 2 ° united. When the coupling is complete, 135 parts by weight of sodium hydroxide solution (D. 1.36) are added and the mixture is heated to 60 ° for 2 hours. The saponified disazo dye is precipitated and separated off by adding i 50 parts by weight of hydrochloric acid (D. i, i 9). The dye paste is dissolved in sodium carbonate solution, tetrazotized according to Example i and coupled with 21.6 parts by weight of 1.3 diaminobenzene. The separated tetrakisazo dye dyes cotton in a red-brown shade, which turns into a beautiful light-fast brown when treated with i-diazo-4-nitrobenzene. The dye probably has the composition EXAMPLE 3 The dye paste obtained according to Example 2 from 39.3 parts by weight of the dianotized p-toluenesulfonic acid ester of i-amino-7-oxynaphthalene-q.-sulfonic acid and z0.7 parts by weight of i-amino-3-methylbenzene and saponification is added in a soda-alkaline solution 60 ° treated with phosgene. After the phosgenation has ended, the precipitated Dis.a@zofarbs.toff.abdnt off and, as described in Examples i and 2, coupled in a soda-alkaline solution with a diazo solution prepared from -r3.6 parts by weight of i-amino-3-formylaminobenzene. The resulting tetrakisazo dye is saponified, tetrazotized and the tetrazo compound is combined with 10.8 parts by weight of i, 3-diaminobenzene. The resulting hexakisazo dye is a dark powder and dyes cotton in a reddish-brown shade, which, when developed with i-Diazo - 4-nitrobenzene, turns brown. The dye has the composition Example 4 1.5 g parts by weight of i-amino -; - oxynaphthalene are dissolved in 14 parts by weight of hydrochloric acid (D. 1.1 g) and 250 parts by weight of water. This solution is combined at 10 ° to 15 ° with a diazo solution prepared from 17.3 parts by weight of i-atninobenzene-4-sulfonic acid. The coupling, which starts immediately, is completed by adding dropwise a solution of 10 parts by weight of sodium acetate. After 5 hours, the coupling mixture is briefly warmed to 40 "and the resulting monoazo dye is separated off. The dye paste is combined in 2,000 parts by weight of sodium carbonate with a diazo solution of 13.6 parts by weight of i-amino-3-fortnylaminobenzene at 3 to 5 °. When the coupling is complete, the mixture is combined the disazo dye is saponified by adding 180 parts by weight of sodium hydroxide solution (D. 1.36) and heating to 40 ° for two hours, the solution is made acidic to Congo by adding 250 parts by weight of hydrochloric acid (D. i, ig) and the dye is separated off Parts by weight of water slurried, made weakly alkaline with sodium hydroxide solution and tetrazotized by adding 500 parts by weight of ice, 15 parts by weight of sodium nitrite and 15o parts by weight of hydrochloric acid (D. i, ig) hours at 3 to 5 ° Solution of 1o, 8 parts by weight of 1, 3 - diaminobenzene and 18.8 parts by weight of 1, 3-diamirtobenzene-4-sulfonsä ure shifted. The coupling is brought to an end by the dropwise addition of a solution of 60 parts by weight of sodium carbonate. The separated tetrakisazo dye is a dark powder that dyes cotton in a yellowish brown shade and gives it a strong brown when treated with i-diazo-4-nitrobenzene. The dye probably has the composition Example 5 A diazo solution prepared according to Example 2 from 39.3 parts by weight of the p-toluenesulfonic acid ester of i-amino-7-oxynaphthalen-4-sulfonic acid is combined with 13.8 parts by weight of i-oxybenzene-2-carboxylic acid in a soda-alkaline solution. The resulting monoazo dye is, as described in the examples, saponified. The dye paste obtained is dissolved and combined with the diazoazo compound of 18.4 parts by weight of 4,4-diaminodiphenyl and 13.8 parts by weight of i-oxybenzene-2-carboxylic acid in a solo alkaline agent. The trisazo dye is separated by looking and is a brown powder that dyes cotton in a red-brown shade and turns yellow-brown on aftertreatment with chromium salts. He probably owns the composition Example Ö 41.6 parts by weight of the monoazo dye from dianotated i-amino-3-formylaminobenzene-4-sulfonic acid and i- (4'-aminophenyl) -3-methyl-5-pyrazolone are dianotized in a known manner. The diazoazo compound is combined with 23.9 parts by weight of i-amino-7-oxynaphthalene-4-sulfonic acid in an alkaline medium, and the disazo dye formed is saponified by adding sodium hydroxide solution and heating to 40 ° after the coupling has ended. The separated dye is tetrazotized again as in Example 4 and coupled with a solution of 3o.4 parts by weight of i-amino-3-oxethylaminobenzene. The de --- Aandene tetrakisazo dye dyes cotton in a yellowish brown shade and is developed to a reddish brown on aftertreatment with i-diazo-4-nitrobenzene. He probably owns the composition Example? The separated monoazo dye is saponified in the usual way by heating in dilute sodium hydroxide solution to 80 ° and the saponified azo compound is separated from the solution using hydrochloric acid. The dye paste is stirred in about 1500 parts by weight of water, made alkaline and combined with the diazoazo compound of 18.4 parts by weight of tetrazotized 4,4'-diaminodiphenyl and 13.8 parts by weight of i-oxybenzene-2-carboxylic acid. The trisazo dye formed is precipitated and separated off by adding sodium chloride. It dyes cotton in a good lightfast yellow-brown shade and probably has the composition Example 8 A solution of 23.9 parts by weight of 2-amino-7-oxynaphthalene-6-sulfonic acid is mixed with a diazo solution prepared according to Example i from 13.6 parts by weight of i-amino-3-formylaminobenzene at 5 °. The coupling is completed within 24 hours until the Congo acidic reaction has disappeared. It is then neutralized with sodium carbonate and, after adding a8 parts by weight of sodium carbonate, the monoazo dye is coupled again with a diazo solution prepared from 13.6 parts by weight of i-amino-3-formylaminobenzene. After the coupling has ended, the disazo dye formed is saponified according to Example i, then tetrazotized and coupled with a mixture of io.8 parts by weight of i, 3-diaminobenzene and 16.6 parts by weight of 3 aminophenylaminoacetic acid. The separated tetrakisazo dye dyes cotton, aftertreated with i-diazod.-nitrobenzene, in a reddish brown shade with good fastness properties. Probably owns the composition
