Description
Process for the preparation of condensation products The invention relates to the preparation of condensation products from polyhydric alcohols, polybasic acids, natural resins and drying oils. It has already been proposed to use the polyhydric alcohol and the polybasic acid in the theoretically calculated amounts when generating condensation products from these four components. In contrast, working of these ratios according to the invention with deviation by first condensing a polyhydric alcohol in excess, a polybasic aromatic acid and a natural resin or a mixture of natural resins in the usual manner, and then the product obtained in the autoclave with Linseed oil is heated at temperatures above about aio ° until a homogeneous mass is obtained.
The masses obtained according to the invention are homogeneous and at room temperature more or less flowable and are particularly suitable for paint and varnish production. Due to their solubility in white spirit, they advantageously differ from from the same components while maintaining the theoretical proportions of Alcohol and acid produced condensation products that were in toluene, but not are soluble in white spirit. It is known that solubility in toluene is easier than the solubility in naphtha and this again easier than the solubility in Achieve mineral spirits so that the invention by obtaining one in mineral spirits soluble synthetic resin. solves a problem recognized by experts as difficult. White spirit is also cheaper than the aromatic hydrocarbons, which is why it z. B. is used for painting in place of turpentine oil.
As a polyhydric aliphatic alcohol one can run of the method according to the invention, for example, use glycerine or glycol, and as polybasic acids come mainly the dibasic, aromatic acids, such as phthalic acid and its anhydride, into consideration. The amount of polyvalent applied The excess of alcohol is calculated based on the total acid number of the mixture the polybasic acid and the resin.
Beispiele i. The action is also essential for the method according to the invention of linseed oil on condensation products previously generated in a certain way. The synthetic resins obtainable according to the invention can therefore also not be obtained thereby be that in a single operation in Autoclave the Condensation of the various components, such as glycerine, phthalic anhydride, Natural resin and linseed oil. This also applies to the known production resin-like mixed ester by esterification of glycerine with phthalic anhydride, Linseed oil or wood oil fatty acids and resin acids. Examples i. One hires first Synthetic resin by adding 285 parts of phthalic anhydride at 11o ° to 24o parts of glycerol and Zoo gives parts of rosin (acid number 162.5) to 26o ° in 15 to 20 hours and then keep the temperature at this level for 2 hours. The resin obtained has a dropping point according to U b b e 1 o h d e from i o5 to 12o °, now you fill Put 45o parts of this synthetic resin and 45o parts linseed oil in a stirred autoclave and heat for 16 hours up to 2io °. The pressure rises to 6 at. Then leaves you cool the mass down to 5o to 6o ° and make sure that it is complete has become homogeneous. If necessary, the mixture is heated to 25o ° for a further 8 hours and, if necessary necessary, even longer. The mass finally obtained decreases at ordinary temperature a little flowable form and has a yellow-greenish, weakly fluorescent Color on.
@ Temperatur. Die .erhaltene Masse ist bei gewöhnlicher Temperatur homogen, wenig fließbar und schwach fluoreszierend.2-. 240 parts of glycerol are heated to 10 ° and a mixture is added : from 285 parts of phthalic anhydride and zoo parts of dammar resin. Then increases the temperature is raised to 26o ° in 15 hours and cooked at this for another 2 hours. @ Temperature. The resin obtained in this way has a dropping point according to U b b e 1 o h d e from i 4o to 157 °. Zoo parts of this resin are now boiled with zoo parts linseed oil heated in the autoclave for 16 hours at 220 °. If the mass obtained is not is completely homogeneous, cook a few hours longer and raise the temperature up to 25o °. When it cools down, a homogeneous mass that is difficult to flow is obtained. 3. 150 parts of glycerine are mixed at 110 to 120 degrees with a mixture of zoo parts of phthalic anhydride and zoo parts heated manilla resin. The temperature is increased for 5 hours to 170 ° until all the manilla resin has melted. Then you go up in 8 hours 25o ° and then pours. The resin obtained has a dropping point according to U b b e 1 o h de from 140 to 157 °. Zoo parts of this resin are now mixed with zoo parts of linseed oil heated in the autoclave at 220 ° until the mass is completely homogeneous. The duration of the heating is about 30 hours. If necessary, you can also use the Increase temperature to 25o °. The mass obtained is at ordinary temperature homogeneous, difficult to flow and weakly fluorescent.
Beim Erkalten erhält man eine wenig fließbare, homogene Masse.¢. 240 parts of glycol are heated to 120 ° and a mixture is dispensed 285 parts of phthalic anhydride and zoo parts of rosin. Then you increase the temperature in 5 hours to 275 °. After maintaining this temperature for l1 / 2 Hours an acidity of 5 is reached. You can now cool down and get a clear, not brittle resin. 35o parts of this resin are mixed with 35o parts linseed oil heated in the autoclave at 25o "until complete solution has occurred. When cooling a homogeneous mass that is difficult to flow is obtained.
