Neben dieser Mehrarbeit gegenüber dem neuen Verfahren müssen aber die sich aus dem Anstrich entwickelnden Dämpfe angezündet werden, damit sich aus der stark rauchenden Flamme an den kalten Wänden die erforderliche Schutzschicht aus Teer und Ruß absetzt. Erst wenn das geschehen ist, ist die Form für den Guß fertig. Demgegenüber ist ohne weiteres ersichtlich, daß das Arbeiten nach dem neuen Verfahren eine Zeit- und Arbeitsersparnis mit sich bringt, indem kein vorheriges Anstreichen bzw. Anräuchern der Form notwendig ist, die Schutzschicht sich vielmehr aus dem durch das eingegossene Metall verdampfenden Naphthalin bildet. ' Es ist 'zweckmäßig, das Naphthalin in Form von Pulver aufzugeben, das in Papierheubel ;gefüllt wird, um die Handhabung zu erleichtern. Es sind nur außerordentlich geringe Mengenerforderlich.
