Description
Process for printing textile products the subject of the invention is a method of printing textiles with vat dyes which are contained therein insists that vat dye preparations, the alkali salts, are used for this purpose of homologues of aromatic acids, such as sulfonic or carboxylic acids. So far These are vat dye preparations that are not yet ready-to-use printing pastes are to be viewed, their production can, for. B. be done in such a way that one aqueous Pastes of vat dyes, which also contain glycerine or similar alcohols, such as glycol, diethylene glycol, thiodiglycol, thiodiglycerol, contain the alkali salts of the acids mentioned and the pastes thus obtainable either readily processed with the usual additives on printing pastes or evaporated or completely or partially freed from the liquid contained in them in another way, the concentrated pastes or powders obtainable in this way after any time and after usual working methods processed on printing pastes and then for textile printing purposes used. The advantage that comes from the addition of the mentioned hydrotropic Substances is obtained; is a multiple. Once in this way it succeeds very concentrated pastes that do not settle or settle even after long periods of storage segregate, produce; second, in this way it is possible in many cases to obtain dry dye powder after slurrying and adding the usual Additions can easily be processed on printing pastes that print very evenly can; third, the addition of the hydrotropic agent works in most Cases a considerable gain and faster fixation of the available prints. It should be mentioned that the latter effects are also observed when the aforementioned Hydiotropically acting substances are only added to the otherwise finished printing pastes in which case the dye is also present in a reduced state can.
G e o rg i e v i es-Haller, Handbuch des Zeugdrucks, Teil =, 1930, S. 1q.1), 16 Gewichtsteile Gummi 1:1, 17 Gewichtsteile Tragant 65:1000, 1ö Gewichtsteile Glycerin, 15 Gewichtsteile Kaliumcärbonat, 15 Gewichtsteile Natriumformaldehydsulfoxylat und 15 Gewichtsteile Wasser enthält.It is known to add certain hydrotropic substances to vat dyes (see patent specification 244 738 and British patent specification 2.7 742 from igo8). Compared to the hydrotropic agents mentioned in these patents, those of the present invention have the advantage of a better effect. Example 10 parts by weight of a dye paste containing 10 parts by weight of 6,6'-dichloro-q., 4'-dimethyl-bis-thionaphthene indigo, 15 parts by weight of sodium p-toluenesulfonate and q.o parts by weight of glycerol are mixed with 10 parts by weight of water and 80 parts by weight of a thickening mixed in 100 parts by weight of 6 parts by weight of wheat starch, 6 parts by weight of British gum powder (cf. Geo rg ievi es-Haller, Handbuch des Zeugdrucks, Teil =, 1930, p. 1q.1), 16 parts by weight of rubber 1: 1, 17 parts by weight tragacanth 65: 1000, 10 parts by weight glycerin, 15 parts by weight potassium carbonate, 15 parts by weight sodium formaldehyde sulfoxylate and 15 parts by weight water.
The printing paste obtained in this way is used for printing in a customary manner. The prints obtained are dampened and dampened with potassium chromium / acetic acid as well developed by soaking at the boil. One made in this way on cotton Pressure turns out to be significantly more powerful than one according to the same rule, however pressure obtained without the addition of sodium p-toluenesulfonate.
Example 2 20 parts by weight of the finely divided dye according to patent specification 239 093, obtainable by oxidation of naphthooxythiophenecarboxylic acid as an aqueous paste; = 5 parts by weight of sodium p-toluenesulfonic acid or sodium o-, m- or p-xylenesulfonic acid and qo parts by weight of glycerine are evaporated on the water bath while stirring until the dough is 16 percent. The dye preparation obtained in this way does not dry up and can easily be processed by the customary methods on printing pastes which, when printing, even when printing is not reduced by the method, give stronger prints than when working without the addition of the hydrotropic agents mentioned.
Beispiel q. Eine Druckpaste, bestehend aus 2 Gewichtsteilen des Farbstoffs 5, 7 . 5', 7'-Tetrabromindigo, q. Gewichtsteilen p-toluolsulfonsaurem Natrium, q. Instead of the sodium salts, the hydrotropic agents mentioned can be used also other alkali salts thereof,. such as B. the potassium or lithium salts, use Find. Example 3 3 parts by weight of a 6 percent strength dye powder, for example by drying. -579 parts by weight of a 10.33 percent paste of the dye of Example 2, 2 parts by weight of dehydrated sodium carbonate and 38 parts by weight Sodium p-toluenesulfonic acid in enamelled drying trays on the water bath or on a drum dryer heated with 11/2 to 2 atmospheres of steam; or was prepared in any other way, with = 7 parts by weight of water and -8o parts by weight of a thickening - as indicated in Example 1, mixed. The printing paste obtained in this way can be produced just as well as one made from pasta Use printing paste. The prints are without specks and fix better than the corresponding ones Pasta with the same dye content and show an enhancement of the nuance the prints obtained without the addition of sodium p-toluenesulfonate. Example q. A printing paste consisting of 2 parts by weight of the dye 5, 7. 5 ', 7'-tetrabromoindigo, q. Parts by weight of sodium p-toluenesulfonate, q. Parts by weight of glycerine, - 15 Parts by weight of potassium carbonate, 12 parts by weight of sodium formaldehyde sulfoxylate, 23 Parts by weight of water, q.a parts by weight of a thickening; those in zoo parts by weight 35 parts by weight of Britishgum powder, 13 parts by weight of wheat starch, 2 parts by weight Sodium benzylsulfanil and 50 parts by weight of water is added by mixing and heating on the water bath prepared and used in the usual way for printing. The prints obtained are dampened and dampened with potassium chromium / acetic acid as well developed by soaking at the boil. One made in this way on cotton Pressure is significantly more powerful than one according to the same rule, but without Addition of sodium p-toluenesulphonate and 8% glycerol, pressure obtained.
Instead of the hydrotropic agents mentioned in the examples, z. B. also o-, n- or p-toluic acid sodium or o- or m-toluenesulfonic acid Sodium or other Al-potassium salts of these acids are used.
