Description

Die Befestigung des Steuerruders am Faltbootsteven machte bisher besondere Schwierigkeiten. Es ist hier nicht möglich, wie bei anderen Booten, an der Außenwand des Bootes feste Ösen oder Klammern anzubringen, da die Bootshaut meist aus Leinwand oder Gummistoff besteht und möglichst nicht durchbohrt werden soll, damit sie nicht später undicht wird. Man ist deshalb gezwungen, das Steuerruder mit Klammern zu befestigen, welche von außen auf den Steven auf geklemmt werden, oder den Steven selbst aus mehreren Teilen zusammenzusetzen, wovon einer außerhalb der Bootshaut zu liegen kommt, der die erforderlichen' ösen oder Haken trägt. Im letzten Falle wird dabei notgedrungen die Bootshaut mehrfach durchlöchert, was sich besonders bei längerer Benutzung des Faltbootes als ständige Quelle der Undichtigkeit äußert. Werden jedoch aufgeklemmte Klammern verwendet, so ist der Faltbootfahrer gezwungen, diese schwere und unschöne Einrichtung nachträglich am Steven zu befestigen, was immer nur mangelhaft und mit Gefährdung der Haut geschehen kann.
