Auf zwei nicht gezeichneten, in der Längsrichtung des zu bespannenden Tennisschlägers verlaufenden und am Gestell der Maschine befestigten Schienen ist eine querverlaufende Schiene 1 senkrecht zu ihrer Längsrichtung verschiebbar angeordnet. Auf dieser Schiene 1 ist der Saitenhalter verschiebbar geführt, so daß er in zwei zueinander senkrechten Richtungen beweglich ist. Der Saitenhalter besitzt zwei Klemmbacken 6, 7, die in ihrem oberen Ende Ausschnitte 8 aufweisen, deren Entfernung der Entfernung der Längssaiten 9 voneinander entspricht. Die beiden Klemmbacken sind durch ein Gelenk 11 miteinander verbunden und. auf einem Führungsstück 12 der Höhe nach verschiebbar, das unten zu einer Schwalbenschwanzführung 13 ausgebildet ist. Auf dem Führungsstück 12 ist ein Bügel 14 befestigt, in welchem ein Bolzen 15 gelagert ist. Auf diesem Bolzen ist ein Exzenter 16 drehbar angebracht, welches durch den Handgriff 17 betätigt werden kann. In einem Ansatz 18 des Führungsstückes 12 ist ein Bolzen 19 verschiebbar, auf welchen eine Schraubenfeder 20 aufgeschoben ist. Diese Schraubenfeder stützt sich einerseits gegen die Schiene 1, andererseits gegen einen Bund auf dem Bolzen 19, drückt diesen Bolzen in die in Abb. 2 gezeichnete Lage, so daß das Ende des Bolzens immer an dem Exzenter 16 anliegt.
