Description
Process for refining, in particular for mercerising vegetable products Fabrics In the patent 516o69 a process is given, through which finishing effects, in particular a mercerization of vegetable fibers by treatment with acids or bases can be achieved by cooling the treated goods in the Stretch field the swelling process is influenced. In this process, #lie is a definition the mercerization effect and the prevention of shrinkage after the end of mercerization, as usual, to think carried out in such a way that the mercerized material in the stretching field treated with hot water or otherwise diluting the mercerizing agent is brought about.
In the method according to the additional invention, which relates in particular to the mercerization of fabrics made from plant fibers, the controllable prevention of the shrinkage of the tissue is switched on in the course of the mercerization itself, namely in this way. that the tissue, after it i: is deep-frozen in stretching field, via further heat exchange bodies, e.g. B. hollow rollers o. The like. Is performed, which are heated by steam or warm liquids. An indirect dry heating of the mercerizing agent in the trade, while it is still in the stretching field, is initiated and thus the shrinkage of the tissue, which only occurs at low temperature, is more or less prevented as desired. The indirect dry heating not only significantly simplifies the entire process, but it is also possible to extract the mercerizing agent in a much more concentrated form for further processing in the subsequent leaching and to expose the tissue to the bulging effect of concentrated wanner lye. The method also makes it possible to allow the mercerizing effect generated on the first cooling and stretching elements to exist to a greater extent and to be satisfied with a smaller shrinkage for the purpose of compressing the mercerizing material or to fix this mercerizing effect less by means of less subsequent indirect heating, i.e. to achieve a partial neutralization, and thereby enable further shrinkage. In the latter case, it is advisable to let the heating rollers located behind the stretching field follow the cooling rollers, between which .aber no longer stretching rollers, but rather smooth rollers, possibly at a greater distance from the cooling rollers, in order to be able to under the influence of the repeated cooling and of the smooth guide rollers i; So without repeated stretching), a shrinkage in the weft direction of the fabric .and optionally reduced withdrawal speed in the warp direction of the fabric to achieve.
The following is: the procedure using some schematic drawings the devices required for this purpose are explained.
In Fig. I and 2, i denotes the fabric, z are the draw rollers, 3 the cooled rollers, 4 the heated rollers and 5 the take-off rollers. That with Lye soaked and .abgepreßte tissue goes over the draw roller -2, then over the Cooling roller 3 and is in the stretched state between the two stretching rollers .2 heated by the hot roller .4, then goes to the further cooling roller 3 without that a draw roller follows; the fabric is so on this chill roll as a result the cooling in the weft direction shrink. Albeit a shrinkage in the Warp direction is desired, this can take place between the pairs of take-off rollers, in that the second pair of take-off rollers runs a little slower than the first thing indicated by the sagging of the fabric. Anyone could do it, of course Kind of any number of rollers can be attached.
In Fig. 3 and i. again with i denotes the tissue, with a one cooled roller, with 3 the chain guide of the tension chain, with 4. a heat sink, with 5 a heated body, with 7 take-off rollers, with f> further cooling rollers.
The fabric i, saturated with lye and squeezed off, is put into the tenter 3 supplied; a cooling roller z can be arranged in front of this as required. in the A heat sink 4 is arranged in the clamping field, followed by a heated body 5. -. \ Z'ach A further cooling roller 6 can be arranged in the clamping field in order to reduce shrinkage to produce in the weft direction. Furthermore, take-off rollers 7 can be arranged, around a warp shrinkage, which is again indicated by the sagging fabric is to enable.
Fig. 5 shows the course of the fabric within a run device suitable for the process. The designation of the rollers corresponds to that Scheme in Fig. I and 2. The dimension in the middle of the fabric strip shows the assumed Change in the width and thus the density of the fabric, based on the raw material i oo cm wide. A heating to about 30 ° C is also assumed partial neutralization. For example, it would be heated to 70 ° - and with it the Mercerization carried out completely, so the goods would only shrink a little afterwards and leave the machine with a width of about 5 cm instead of 6o cm.
It is known per se that the mercerization effect can be achieved by increasing the temperature to interrupt, on the other hand it is new, the heating in an uninterrupted work process turn on the dry way in the stretching field by placing the fabric over heated% Valzen or surfaces is led away.
For .the method described above, it is important that in the stretching field during the mercerization process, the tissue after it has left the cooling surfaces has happened, continued over heated surfaces and then again if necessary is passed over cooling surfaces.
For the production of transparent and linen effects using mercerization The process is not suitable below 0 ° C.
