Die Anlage gemäß der Erfindung ist so eingerichtet, daß einmal das Gut durch den Trockenraum während des Trockenvorgangs fortlaufend oder mit Unterbrechungen hindurchgeführt werden kann, wie dieses sonst nur beim Kanalofenbetriebe geschieht, während im zweiten Fall das Gut fest gestapelt oder in sonstiger Form untergebracht ist und für die ganze Dauer des Prozesses an einer Stelle liegenbleibt, wie dieses bei Kammeröfen der Fall ist, wobei in beiden Fällen das Stufentrockenverfahren Anwendung findet. Es ist beispielsweise bei Holz üblich, daß zunächst ein Dämpfen des Holzes stattfindet und erst nach dem Dämpfen das Trocknen' einsetzt. Während des Trockenvorgangs selbst müssen auch noch verschiedene Bedingungen eingehalten werden, so daß es bisher erforderlich war, für die verschiedenen Stufen auch verschiedene Einrichtungen zu treffen. Das Wesentliche der Erfindung liegt nun darin, daß in jeder Zone des Trockners sämtliche Einrichtungen, die für die einzelnen Vorgänge in Frage kommen, vorhanden sind, es ist also jede Stufe des Trockenkanals vollständig gleich gebaut. Die Ventilatoren v, welche den Wärmeträger im Kreislauf durch den gesamten Trockenraum fördern, sind so eingerichtet, daß entweder durch Änderung der Schaufelstellung oder durch Änderung der Drehfahl und Drehrichtung die Stärke des Luftstroms und damit auch der Wärmeübertragtingskoeffizient beliebig geregelt bzw. der Wärmeträger einmal von links nach rechts, das andere Mal von rechts nach links durch das Trockengut geleitet werden kann. Die Heizkörper h dienen zur dauernden Aufheizung des kreisenden Wärmeträgers, während das Dampfrohr i den Zweck hat, Sattdampf beim Dämpfen des Holzes in den Trockner einzuführen oder überhitzten Dampf zum Zwecke des Reifens. Die Schächte e mit den Klappen k dienen dazu, die erforderliche Frischluft dem Trockenraum zuzuführen. Die Klappen k sind einstellbar eingerichtet, so daß die zuzuführende Frischluftmenge geregelt werden kann.
