Description
The invention relates to a method for producing colored yarn from short fiber Textiles, especially cotton, and aims to produce a yarn that is entirely gradually tapering or intersecting color points, so that therefrom Woven or knitted fabrics can be produced, in which dyed and undyed Places are intimately mixed.
It has hitherto been customary to produce mottled cotton fabrics or knitted fabrics from yarn which was only dyed or stained alternately after the yarn had been spun by dyeing yarn points located at short distances from one another. So it is z. B. has become known to color finished spun cotton yarn in Kötzerform after the puncture process batchwise.
It is also known to use rovings made of long, tough fibers, such as. B. wool or cotton to be dyed in strands, the same being printed or otherwise colored during a linear movement. However, such methods cannot also be used for rovings made from short fibers, such as. B. cotton can be used. Such short-fiber rovings have a very low elongation and tear when an attempt is made to effect the dyeing during their movement. The known processes with liquor circulation cannot be used for rovings made of cotton, because the absorbency of these fibers is inherently very low and, even when a significant pressure difference is used, opposes the passage of the liquor with a resistance which makes the process impossible.
Hierdurch ergeben sich bei den Gewirken oder Geweben viel langsamer und f einer ineinander veriatif ende Farbstellen, was ein viel schöneres Aussehen der fertigen WareIn contrast, the method according to the invention is that the only slightly twisted roving in Kötzerform in a known manner z. B. is dyed at intervals by the puncture process, whereupon the roving is unwound and stretched to produce the finished yarn, finished spun tmd is twisted if necessary. .,. Compared to the above-mentioned stitching process, the difference is that the order of the two process stages, the production of the finished yarn by stretching, spinning, twisting and the batch dyeing of the colored material in Kötzer form according to the stitching process, have been rearranged. The result is that the coloring extends only to part of the cross-section of the finished yarn. As a result, the knitted or woven fabrics result in much slower and interdependent color spots, which gives the finished product a much nicer look
hervorruft, weil scharfe Grenzen zwischen den farbigen und nichtfarbigen oder den verschiedenfarbigen Teilen vollkommen vermieden sind.because there are sharp boundaries between colored and non-colored or differently colored Parts are completely avoided.
Compared to the second-mentioned dyeing process for roving the method according to the invention has the advantage that the roving to be colored during the dyeing wound onto a core and, as a result, the risk of the web tearing during dyeing is completely eliminated. Only after dyeing is the roving unwound, stretched, spun and twisted if necessary, with the same or with different threads, which in the same way treated with other colors. The stretching and twisting serve 'to get sharp To prevent delimitations at the ends of the short colored areas of the roving and to distribute the color spots.
In the drawing, Fig. 1 shows in a side view Yarn or roving wound on a bobbin, with the spots the wound thread mass, which are soaked with colored liquid, are indicated. Figure 2 is a cross-section along line 2-2 Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is an enlarged view of a yarn made up of two rovings different coloring was generated. Fig. 4 shows a knitted fabric made from this yarn.
The process for making a yarn according to Fig. 3 is as follows: After cotton fibers by means of the machines commonly used for this purpose (Carding, stretching, fleger) formed into rovings are in Shortly spaced areas of the roving soaked with paint, and before the roving is carried out. The coloring is without decrease of the roving carried out by the bobbins, so that the roving through the coloring is neither torn nor damaged and immediately after coloring can be attached to the slip-on gate of the spinning machine.
The coloring is carried out by applying limited amounts of coloring liquid to predetermined positions on the roving wound on a bobbin B (Figs. 1 and 2). In consideration of the loose structure of the cotton roving, the penetration of the colored liquid can be effected very easily. The coloration can e.g. B. be carried out according to the method and devices described in Patent 481,817. The colored parts D of the winding mass are indicated in Figs. 1 and 2 by shadow lines and are arranged along the spool at certain distances from one another. Each colored portion extends from the outer surface of the thread mass to the inner surface thereof.
Another roving, wound on a bobbin of the same size as bobbin B , is then partially colored with a different color from that of the first bobbin. The parts of the second colored thread mass can be arranged in the same way as the colored parts of the first thread mass.
The two rovings are then attached to the creel of a spinning machine and run together through the stretching rollers to the same spindle.
A yarn produced according to this process is shown in Fig. 3, in which the arrangement of the two different colored parts indicated with undyed parts of the yarn is. A further intermingling of the colors results when the Ganij knits as shown in Fig. 4 will.
It is evident that by changing the position of the colored sites of next for use roving, likewise by using different colors at different rovings or various go nenTeilen thereof roving or complete coloring of a sliver with a single color, and subsequent staining of separate parts with of a different color or by changing the layers gs of the dyed areas of two or more rovings to be processed together, yarns can be obtained which are suitable for knitting a mottled fabric in any desired color.
