Abstract

Parti-coloured yarn of cotton or other short fibre, is prepared by applying the dye-liquid to sections of the material in the state of roving and while it is wound on a core such as a bobbin, and subsequently drawing and twisting the roving so as to form a yarn. During the twisting the roving may be combined with other strands that have been similarly dyed with different colours. The dyeing of the wound material may be carried out as described in Specification 205,057.
