Description
Die Erfindung betrifft amorphe mikroporöse oxidische Fest
stoffe auf Basis von organofunktionellen Verbindungen von Me
tallen, Übergangsmetallen und Halbleiterelementen sowie ein
Verfahren zu ihrer Herstellung und ihrer Verwendung als Adsor
benzien, zur Stofftrennung, als Katalysator oder Katalysator
trägermaterialien.
Aus DE-OS 21 55 281 und DE-OS 23 57 184 ist die Herstel
lung von porösen Siliciumdioxiden bekannt, indem man Tetraal
koxysilane oder Polyalkoxysiloxane gegebenenfalls zusammen mit
Organoalkoxysilanen der hydrolytischen Polykondensation unter
wirft.
Es ist weiterhin bekannt, daß poröse Feststoffe durch hy
drothermale Synthese oder nach dem Sol-Gel-Prozeß hergestellt
werden können. Die so hergestellten Feststoffe sind jedoch ent
weder röntgen-kristallin oder röntgen-amorph und besitzen einen
geringen Anteil an Mikroporen.
Gemäß DE-AS 10 38 015 läßt sich kristallines Alumosilikat
herstellen, indem Natriumaluminat-Lösung und Natriumsilikat
lösung unter Gel-Bildung miteinander vermischt und zur Kristal
lisation gebracht werden.
Amorphe Alumosilikate können analog dem in der DE-OS 29 17 313
beschriebenen Verfahren hergestellt werden. Dabei werden eine
Aluminat- und eine Silikat-Lösung vereinigt.
Wenn das Gemisch sofort in ein Fällöl gegeben wird, bilden sich
perlförmige Körper aus amorphem Alumosilikat.
Die bisher bekannten porösen Feststoffe sind in ihrer Wir
kung oft unspezifisch, wenig selektiv und empfindlich gegen me
chanische und chemische Einwirkung, z. B. hydrolytischen An
griff.
Zur Charakterisierung der porösen Feststoffe werden
gemäß JUPAC-Klassifikation folgende Porenklassen herangezogen
(dp = mittlerer Porendurchmesser):
Mikroporen dp < 2 nm
Mesoporen 2 nm < dp < 50 nm
Makroporen dp < 50 nm.
Mesoporen 2 nm < dp < 50 nm
Makroporen dp < 50 nm.
Die Porenverteilung kann durch verschiedene bekannte Methoden
ermittelt werden, z. B. durch Adsorption von Gasen und Dämpfen
und Auswertung der dabei erhaltenen Sorptionsisothermen nach
der Horwath-Kawazoe-, BET- oder Kelvin-Methode, insbesondere
zur Ermittlung der Mikro- und Mesoporenverteilung, oder durch
Quecksilberporosimetrie zur Ausmessung der Porenverteilung von
Makroporen und größeren Mesoporen.
Die Aufgabe der Erfindung bestand darin, poröse Feststoffe
mit überwiegendem Anteil an Mikroporen sowie ein Verfahren zu
deren Herstellung bereitzustellen.
Erfindungsgemäß wird die Aufgabe durch mikroporöse oxidi
sche Feststoffe auf Basis organofunktioneller Verbindungen von
Metallen, Übergangsmetallen und/oder Halbleiterelementen vor
zugsweise von Elementen der dritten und vierten Hauptgruppe
und/oder der vierten Nebengruppe des PSE, die durch Temperung
beziehungsweise Kalzinierung derartiger Verbindungen herge
stellt wurden und eine Porengröße von 0,3 bis 2 nm, ein Poren
volumen von 0,05 bis 0,9 ml/g und eine BET-Oberfläche von 10
bis 1000 m²/g aufweisen, gelöst.
Die erfindungsgemäßen mikroporösen Feststoffe sind rönt
gen-amorph.
Erfindungsgemäß erfolgt die Herstellung der mikroporösen
Feststoffe durch thermische Zersetzung von organofunktionellen
Verbindungen, vorzugsweise von Elementen der dritten und vier
ten Hauptgruppe oder der vierten Nebengruppe des PSE in Gegen
wart von Ozon, Sauerstoff und/oder Luft bei 100 bis 600°C,
vorzugsweise bei 200 bis 500°C.
Die Umsetzung kann auch bei Umgebungstemperatur erfolgen,
was jedoch eine Verlängerung der Umsetzungszeit mit sich
bringt.
Organofunktionelle Verbindungen im Sinne der Erfindung
sind vorzugsweise Verbindungen die Silicium, Titan, Hafnium,
Zirkon, Aluminium oder Germanium enthalten zu verstehen.
Die Ausgangsverbindungen können allgemein durch die

In obiger Formel I kann R außerdem auch nichtmetallhaltige
Elemente bzw. chemische Gruppen bedeuten. Verbindungen dieser
Ausführungsform sind z. B. Bis(3-triethoxysilylpropyl)tetrasul
fan, 3-Aminopropyl-triethoxysilan, Phosphorsäure-P,P-dimethyl
trimethylsilylester.
In einer weiteren bevorzugten Variante der Erfindung wer
den als Ausgangsverbindungen Dimethylphenylsilan, Dichlordiphe
nylsilan, Vinyltriethoxysilan, Natriumtrimethylsilikonat, Te
traethoxysilan, Hexadecyltrimethoxysilan, Octyltrimethoxysilan,
oligomeres Methyl-1-octylmethoxysilan, Tetrapropylsilikat,
Aluminiumisopropylat, Tetrabutylorthotitanat, Tetrabutylzirko
nat oder Eisenacetylacetonat verwendet.
Als Ausgangsverbindungen für die erfindungsgemäßen mikro
porösen oxidischen Feststoffe können in einer anderen Vorzugs
variante spezielle organofunktionelle Verbindungen des Silizi
ums eingesetzt werden.
Vorzugsweise werden Siloxane oder Polysiloxane der all
gemeinen Formel II

Als weitere Ausgangsverbindungen im Sinne der Erfindung

werden in einer weiteren Ausführungsform der Erfindung als Ausgangsverbindungen eingesetzt.
Als bevorzugte Verbindungen der allgemeinen Formel IV
werden Polydiphenylcarbosilan oder Poly(diphenyl-co-dime
thyl)carbosilan, die gemäß EP 0 460 556 herstellbar sind,
als Ausgangsverbindung zur Synthese der erfindungsgemäßen Fest
stoffe eingesetzt.
Polysilazane können ebenfalls als Ausgangsverbindungen im
Sinne der Erfindung eingesetzt werden.
Die organofunktionellen Verbindungen können wie bereits
aufgeführt auch Elemente der fünften oder sechsten Hauptgruppe
des PSE, vorzugsweise Stickstoff, Schwefel, Phosphor, chemisch
gebunden enthalten.
Die organofunktionellen Verbindungen können sowohl allein
als auch als Mischung oder Lösung verwendet werden.
In einer weiteren Vorzugsvariante können organofunktio
nelle Verbindungen als Ausgangsverbindungen verwendet werden,
die thermisch zersetzbare und/oder oxidierbare Reste enthalten.
Vorzugsweise sind als solche die entsprechenden Säureester ge
eignet, z. B. Tetrapropylorthotitanat oder -zirkonat, Alumi
niumisopropylat.
Erfindungsgemäß werden zur Herstellung der mikroporösen
Feststoffe die organofunktionellen Ausgangsverbindungen in
sauerstoff- oder ozonhaltiger Gasatmosphäre bei Umgebungs
vorzugsweise bei höheren Temperaturen in die mikroporösen
Feststoffe umgewandelt.
Die Sauerstoffkonzentration beträgt vorzugsweise 5 bis
100%, die Temperatur 100 bis 600°C, vorzugsweise 200 bis
500°C.
Die Umwandlung zu den mikroporösen Feststoffen erfolgt
dadurch, daß die organofunktionellen Verbindungen in sauer
stoff- oder ozonhaltiger Gasatmosphäre zunächst bei einer Tem
peratur von 100 bis 200°C (T₁), vorzugsweise bei 200°C getem
pert werden und anschließend nach Erhöhung der Temperatur auf
maximal 600°C, vorzugsweise bei Temperaturen von 300 bis
500°C (T₂), kalziniert werden.
Bei der Temperung bei vorzugsweise 200°C bilden sich zu
nächst feste, glasartige nichtporöse Feststoffe, die beliebig
lang an Luft stehengelassen bzw. gelagert werden können. Durch
weitere Temperung bzw. Kalzinierung dieser Feststoffe bei höhe
ren Temperaturen, vorzugsweise bei 300 bis 500°C, werden die
organofunktionellen der Ausgangsverbindungen oxidiert und man
erhält den erfindungsgemäßen oxidischen mikroporösen Feststoff.
Das abgekühlte Produkt kann ebenfalls beliebig lange auch an
Luft aufbewahrt werden, ohne daß eine Strukturänderung ein
tritt.
Werden die nach der Temperung bei T₁ gebildeten Feststoffe
zu lange der Temperatur T₂ ausgesetzt oder wird die Temperatur
T₂ zu hoch gewählt, wird die mikroporöse Struktur wieder aufge
weitet und man erhält mesoporöse oder sogar makroporöse Fest
stoffe.
Die Umsetzungsdauer zur Erzielung der mikroporösen Struk
tur kann je nach Wahl der Temperaturbereiche und Ausgangsver
bindungen bis zu 75 Stunden dauern.
In einer weiteren Ausführungsform werden zur Herstellung
der mikroporösen Feststoffe oxidische Feststoffe auf Basis
Siliciumdioxid oder Aluminiumoxid oder Aluminiumphosphat, z. B.
Kieselgele, Aerosile, Xerogele oder Alumosilikat mit den ge
nannten organofunktionellen Verbindungen ein- oder mehrmalig
getränkt und anschließend thermisch bei 100 bis 600°C vorzugs
weise bei 200 bis 500°C in Gegenwart von Sauerstoff, ozonhal
tigen Gasen oder Luft behandelt.
Es ist ebenfalls möglich, diese oxidischen Feststoffe mit
den genannten organofunktionellen Verbindungen ein- oder mehr
malig zu beschichten und danach ebenfalls in Gegenwart von
sauerstoff-, ozonhaltigen Gasen oder Luft thermisch bei 100 bis
600°C, vorzugsweise bei 200 bis 500°C zu behandeln.
Des weiteren ist es möglich, die organofunktionellen Ver
bindungen vor oder nach ihrer thermischen Behandlung in Gegen
wart von sauerstoff-, ozonhaltigen Gasen oder Luft, mit einer
Aluminat und/oder Silikatlösung vorzugsweise Natriumsilikatlö
sung zu vermischen und nach dem Sol-Gel-Verfahren weiterzube
handeln.
Werden die organofunktionellen Verbindungen vor ihrer
thermischen Behandlung mit einer Aluminat- und/oder Silikatlö
sung vermischt und nach dem Sol-Gel-Verfahren gemäß DE 29 17 313
weiterbehandelt, muß zur Bildung der gleichmäßigen Mikroporen
struktur eine thermische Behandlung in Gegenwart von sauer
stoff-, ozonhaltigen Gasen oder Luft erfolgen.
Werden jedoch bereits thermisch behandelte organofunktio
nelle Verbindungen, also die erfindungsgemäßen mikroporösen
Feststoffe, mit einer Aluminat- und/oder Silikatlösung ver
mischt und nach dem Sol-Gel-Verfahren weiterbehandelt, ist eine
anschließende erfindungsgemäße thermische Behandlung nicht un
bedingt erforderlich. Eine übliche Trocknung bei Temperaturen
bis 200°C ist ausreichend.
Das für diese Herstellungsvarianten angewandte Sol-Gel-
Verfahren zur Herstellung oxidischer Feststoffe entspricht
vorzugsweise dem in DE 29 17 313 dargelegten Verfahren.
Im Anschluß an die dort beschriebenen Verfahrensschritte
können weitere Schritte wie Altern, Basenaustausch, Waschen,
Entionisieren, Trocknen bzw. Tempern, folgen.
Einzelheiten des Verfahrens sind der DE 29 17 313 zu ent
nehmen.
In einer bevorzugten Variante im Sinne der Erfindung,
wird das nach dem Sol-Gel-Verfahren gefällte Material in Gegen
wart von sauerstoff-, ozonhaltigen Gasen oder Luft bei 100 bis
600°C thermisch behandelt.
Die erfindungsgemäßen amorphen mikroporösen oxidischen
Feststoffe weisen eine Porengröße von 0,3 bis 2 nm, ein Poren
volumen von 0,65 bis 0,9 ml/g und eine BET-Oberfläche von 10
bis 1000 m²/g auf und eignen sich auf Grund dieser Eigenschaf
ten insbesondere zur Stofftrennung in flüssigen oder gasförmi
gen Medien.
Es ist ebenfalls möglich, die erfindungsgemäßen Feststoffe
auf z. B. Apparateteilen aus Metall, Keramik oder Kunststoff zu
fixieren. Derartig beschichtete Apparateteile können z. B. in
der Klimatechnik verwendet werden.
Jeweils 100 g der in Tabelle 1 angeführten Ausgangsverbindungen
werden auf 200°C (T₁) erwärmt und 16 Stunden bei dieser Tem
peratur belassen. Dabei verfestigt sich die Ausgangsverbindung
und bildet einen festen glasartigen, nichtporösen Feststoff.
Anschließend wird unter Temperaturerhöhung (T₂) der Feststoff
weiter getempert bzw. kalziniert. Die organofunktionellen Grup
pen der Ausgangsverbindungen werden bei diesen Temperaturen
oxidiert und es resultiert der oxidische, mikroporöse Fest
stoff.
Die Diagramme zeigen die Sorptionsisotherme und Porenvolumen
verteilungskurven der Proben 4, 5, 7.
Claims (13)
1. Mikroporöser oxidischer Feststoff auf Basis organofunk
tioneller Verbindungen von Metallen, Übergangsmetallen und/oder
Halbleiterelementen insbesondere von Elementen der dritten oder
vierten Hauptgruppe und/oder vierten Nebengruppe des PSE, mit
einer Porengröße von 0,3 bis 2 nm und einem Porenvolumen von
0,05 bis 0,9 ml/g und einer BET-Oberfläche von 10 bis 1000 m²/g.
2. Mikroporöser oxidischer Feststoff nach Anspruch 1, her
gestellt durch Temperung oder Kalzinierung von organofunktio
nellen Verbindungen von Metallen, Übergangsmetallen und/oder
Halbleiterelementen, vorzugsweise Silicium, Titan, Hafnium,
Zirkon, Aluminium, Germanium.
3. Verfahren zur Herstellung von mikroporösen Feststoffen
auf Basis organofunktioneller Verbindungen nach Anspruch 1,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß organofunktionelle Verbindungen von
Metallen, Übergangsmetallen und/oder Halbleiterelementen allein
oder deren Mischungen bei 100 bis 600°C in Gegenwart von Ozon,
Sauerstoff und/oder Luft thermisch behandelt werden.
4. Verfahren zur Herstellung von mikroporösen Feststoffen
nach Anspruch 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die organofunktio
nellen Verbindungen bei 200 bis 500°C thermisch behandelt wer
den.
5. Verfahren zur Herstellung mikroporöser Feststoffe nach
Anspruch 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß organofunktionelle Ver
bindungen der allgemeinen Formel I

allein oder deren Mischungen verwendet werden.

R für Alkyl, Alkylen, Aryl, Alkylaryl,
R¹ für Wasserstoff, Alkalimetall, Alkyl, Alkylalkoxy oder Aryl

allein oder deren Mischungen verwendet werden.
6. Verfahren zur Herstellung mikroporöser Feststoffe nach
Anspruch 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß als organofunktionelle
Verbindungen Polysiloxane der allgemeinen Formel II
R₃²Si-(O-SiR₂²)n-O-SiR₃² (II)worin
R² für Wasserstoff, Alkyl, Aryl oder Alkylalkoxy,
n für 0; 1 bis < 100
steht, wobei R² in verschiedenen Einheiten ein und desselben Polysiloxans auch unterschiedliche Bedeutung besitzen kann,
allein oder deren Mischungen verwendet werden.
R² für Wasserstoff, Alkyl, Aryl oder Alkylalkoxy,
n für 0; 1 bis < 100
steht, wobei R² in verschiedenen Einheiten ein und desselben Polysiloxans auch unterschiedliche Bedeutung besitzen kann,
allein oder deren Mischungen verwendet werden.
7. Verfahren zur Herstellung mikroporöser Feststoffe nach
Anspruch 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß Polysiloxane der all
gemeinen Formel III
(R₂³SiO)x (III)worin
R³ für Alkyl, Aryl oder Alkylaryl
x für < 100
steht, wobei R³ in verschiedenen Einheiten ein und desselben Polysiloxans auch unterschiedliche Bedeutung besitzen kann,
allein oder deren Mischungen verwendet werden.

8. Verfahren zur Herstellung mikroporöser Feststoffe nach
Anspruch 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß Polycarbosilane der
allgemeinen Formel IV
worin
R⁴ für Wasserstoff, Alkyl, Cycloalkyl, Aryl, Arylalkyl oder Halogen steht, wobei R⁴ in verschiedenen Einheiten ein und desselben Polycarbosilans auch unterschiedliche Bedeutung besitzen kann,
R⁵ für Alkyl, Cycloalkyl, Aryl, Arylalkyl, oder Halogen steht, wobei R⁵ in verschiedenen Einheiten ein und des selben Polycarbosilans auch unterschiedliche Bedeutung besitzen kann,
R⁶ für Halogen, insbesondere Fluor, oder Phenyl steht, wobei R⁶ in verschiedenen Einheiten ein und desselben Polycarbosilans auch unterschiedliche Bedeutung besit zen kann,
R⁷ für Wasserstoff, Halogen, insbesondere Fluor oder Phe nyl steht, wobei R⁷ in verschiedenen Einheiten ein und desselben Polycarbosilans auch unterschiedliche Bedeu tung besitzen kann,
m für den Fall, daß R⁶ und/oder R⁷ für Phenyl stehen, die Zahl 1 bedeutet und für den Fall, daß R⁶ für Fluor und R⁷ für Wasserstoff oder Fluor stehen, eine ganze Zahl von 1 bis 6 bedeutet, wobei m in verschiedenen Einhei ten ein und desselben Polycarboxilans auch unterschied liche Bedeutung besitzen kann, und
p für eine ganze Zahl von m bis 2m-1 steht, wobei p in verschiedenen Einheiten ein und desselben Polycarbosi lans auch unterschiedliche Bedeutung besitzen kann,
allein oder deren Mischungen verwendet werden.
R⁴ für Wasserstoff, Alkyl, Cycloalkyl, Aryl, Arylalkyl oder Halogen steht, wobei R⁴ in verschiedenen Einheiten ein und desselben Polycarbosilans auch unterschiedliche Bedeutung besitzen kann,
R⁵ für Alkyl, Cycloalkyl, Aryl, Arylalkyl, oder Halogen steht, wobei R⁵ in verschiedenen Einheiten ein und des selben Polycarbosilans auch unterschiedliche Bedeutung besitzen kann,
R⁶ für Halogen, insbesondere Fluor, oder Phenyl steht, wobei R⁶ in verschiedenen Einheiten ein und desselben Polycarbosilans auch unterschiedliche Bedeutung besit zen kann,
R⁷ für Wasserstoff, Halogen, insbesondere Fluor oder Phe nyl steht, wobei R⁷ in verschiedenen Einheiten ein und desselben Polycarbosilans auch unterschiedliche Bedeu tung besitzen kann,
m für den Fall, daß R⁶ und/oder R⁷ für Phenyl stehen, die Zahl 1 bedeutet und für den Fall, daß R⁶ für Fluor und R⁷ für Wasserstoff oder Fluor stehen, eine ganze Zahl von 1 bis 6 bedeutet, wobei m in verschiedenen Einhei ten ein und desselben Polycarboxilans auch unterschied liche Bedeutung besitzen kann, und
p für eine ganze Zahl von m bis 2m-1 steht, wobei p in verschiedenen Einheiten ein und desselben Polycarbosi lans auch unterschiedliche Bedeutung besitzen kann,
allein oder deren Mischungen verwendet werden.
9. Verfahren nach Anspruch 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß
organofunktionelle Verbindungen verwendet werden, die chemisch
gebundene Elemente der fünften und sechsten Hauptgruppe des
PSE, vorzugsweise Stickstoff, Schwefel, Phosphor enthalten.
10. Verfahren nach Anspruch 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß
organofunktionelle Verbindungen verwendet werden, die thermisch
zersetzbare und/oder oxidierbare Reste enthalten.
11. Verfahren nach Anspruch 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß
oxidische Feststoffe, insbesondere auf Basis Siliciumoxid oder
Aluminiumoxid, Aluminiumphosphat oder Alumosilikat, insbeson
dere Kieselgele, Aerosile, Xerogele, Alumosilikate, ein- oder
mehrmalig mit den organofunktionellen Verbindungen getränkt
oder beschichtet werden und bei 100 bis 600°C, vorzugsweise
200 bis 500°C in Gegenwart von Ozon, Sauerstoff und/oder Luft
thermisch behandelt werden.
12. Verfahren nach Anspruch 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß
die organofunktionellen Verbindungen vor oder nach ihrer ther
mischen Behandlung mit einer Aluminat- und/oder Silikatlösung
vermischt und nach dem Sol-Gel-Verfahren gemäß Patentschrift
DE 29 17 313 A1 weiterbehandelt werden, wobei sich gegebenen
falls eine thermische Behandlung in Gegenwart von Sauerstoff,
Ozon und/oder Luft anschließen kann.
13. Verwendung der nach einem oder mehreren der Ansprüche 3
bis 9 hergestellten mikroporösen Feststoffe als Adsorptionsmit
tel, zur Stofftrennung, als Katalysator oder Katalysatorträger.
