Description

Process for the production of porous building materials. The invention relates to a process for the production of porous materials for building purposes and the like from minerals, z. B. cement and plaster of paris mixed with water or other liquids. The invention consists in that, in association with the mixing liquid, foam for "artificial porosity of the material is used. It has been found that that such foam is sufficiently durable during the subsequent shaping of the material is so that a lot of air bubbles remain in the mass - which is its porosity guarantee.

The process can be carried out in such a way that a foam-forming substance is added to the mixture liquid or to a mixture of this liquid and the material mixed therewith, after which the foam formation is brought about by vigorous stirring or by supplying compressed air, possibly carbonic acid will. In many cases, however, it is easiest to add already made foam to the mixture liquid or to the mixture of this liquid and the material mixed with it. When manufacturing on a larger scale, the foam is processed in a special machine, from which the foam becomes a \ li.chun,:; s machine from ordinary hnns'ru'.ai @@ r. Over-P 0 ' leads. prepare. so that the foam is absorbed instead of or at the same time as sand or other fillers ii the hybrid.

As a foam-forming substance, a plant slime -, - z. B. that of Seaweed or seaweed made sol-called tangin, are used. The durability of the Foam produced from these substances can be increased by adding gelatin will. The quantities of these substances required are very small, so the process presents itself very cheaply.

In certain cases it has been observed that a further strengthening of the Foam takes place by adding a little formaldehyde.

In addition to the above substances, it has been found that releasable Soaps, e.g. Resin-soda or resin-potash soap, probably useful for this purpose: are. These soaps have the property that they are particularly strong and durable Develop foam that is very suitable for mixing with the concrete-forming materials to "earth" without breaking the foam bubbles, so that the desired degree of porosity can be reached with certainty.
