Description
Die Erfindung betrifft eine wärmesensible Oberflächenbe
schichtung für wärmeschrumpffähige Produkte, insbes.
Schrumpfmanschetten aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff für
Kabelmuffen, zum Anzeigen einer optimalen Schrumpftempera
tur.
Für wärmeschrumpffähige Produkte und insbes. Kunststoff
produkte, welche infolge einer thermischen Erweichung und
anschließenden Verfestigung zur Abdichtung von zu um
schließenden Gegenständen dienen, ist die Temperaturfüh
rung von besonderer Bedeutung. Das gilt vor allem dann,
wenn solche wärmeschrumpfenden Produkte eine Kleber-Innen
schicht aufweisen. Bei zu geringer Temperatur schmilzt die
Kleber-Innenschicht nicht auf, so daß eine Abdichtung nicht
gewährleistet ist. Da ein hinreichendes Verkleben nicht
stattfindet, sind die umschlossenen Gegenstände nicht aus
reichend abgedichtet. Bei zu hoher Temperatur kann es zur
Beschädigung der Kleber-Innenschicht und sogar des wärme
schrumpffähigen Produktes kommen. - Um diese Nachteile zu
vermeiden, ist das Aufbringen von Thermocolourfarben be
kannt geworden, die entsprechende Temperaturen durch einen
Farbumschlag anzeigen (vgl. US 38 16 335, US 41 05 583,
GB 15 11 053, GB 20 38 478). Jedoch können die bekannten
Anstrichmittel keine andere Funktion übernehmen.
Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde, eine wärmesensible
Oberflächenbeschichtung der eingangs beschriebenen Aus
führungsform zu schaffen, die nicht nur das Erreichen einer
bestimmten Temperatur anzeigt, sondern darüber hinaus
infolge einer nachfolgenden Verfestigung zusätzliche
Funktionen wie Schutz vor Nagern, Insekten oder Mikroben
übernimmt.
Zur Lösung dieser Aufgabe ist die wärmesensible Oberflä
chenbeschichtung gekennzeichnet durch ein thermomorphes
Beschichtungsmaterial aus Kunststoff, welches unter Bil
dung eines innigen Verbundes auf die Manschettenoberfläche
ggf. unter Verwendung eines Haftvermittlers bzw. eines
wärmestabilen Klebers aufgebracht wird. Das Beschichtungs
material kann aus einem typenreinen Kunststoff oder Co-
bzw. Terpolymere oder einer Polymermischung bestehen. Neben
der Vielfalt der Temperaturen, die durch unterschiedliche
Kunststoffe bzw. Kunststoffmischungen erreicht werden,
kann eine feine Gradunterteilung durch eine geeignete Wahl
der Molekularmassen erreicht werden. Jedenfalls wird im
Rahmen der Erfindung durch Änderung der Form, der Oberflä
chenstruktur, der Durchsichtigkeit, Brillanz oder derglei
chen hinsichtlich des Beschichtungsmaterials das Erreichen
einer bestimmten Temperatur angezeigt. Vorzugsweise sind
in das Beschichtungsmaterial kurze Glasfasern und/oder
Insektizide eingebracht, so daß das Beschichtungsmaterial
nach dem Verfestigen zugleich Schutzfunktionen übernimmt,
beispielsweise Schutz gegen Nager, Insekten oder Mikroben
gewährleistet.
Weiter sieht die Erfindung vor, daß das Beschichtungs
material
- - gleichmäßig durchgehend bzw. ununterbrochen oder
- - in punktförmiger, wellenförmiger oder streifenförmiger Verteilung oder
- - in vorgegebenen geometrischen Mustern oder
- - an ausgewählten Stellen aufgebracht wird.
Ferner besteht die Möglichkeit, daß die Oberfläche des
Beschichtungsmaterials als glatte oder profilierte Ober
fläche ausgebildet ist. Die Schichtdicke des Beschichtungs
materials beträgt bei glatter Oberfläche zweckmäßigerweise
0,01-0,5 mm und bei profilierter Oberfläche 0,2-1 mm.
Nach einer bevorzugten Ausführungsform der Erfindung ist
das Beschichtungsmaterial als Deckfolie bzw. Kunststoffolie
ausgebildet. Die Deckfolie kann entweder isotrop oder mit
einer vorgegebenen Vororientierung, z. B. mit uniaxialer
oder biaxialer Vororientierung aufgebracht werden.
Im folgenden wird die Erfindung anhand einer lediglich
ein Ausführungsbeispiel darstellenden Zeichnung näher er
läutert. Die einzige Figur zeigt eine Schrumpfmanschette
1 mit Beschichtungsmaterial 2 aus Kunststoff.
Auf die Schrumpfmanschette 1, welche durch eine Oberflächen
behandlung wie Aufrauhen, Beflammen, Korona oder dergleichen
beklebbar gemacht worden ist, ist streifenförmiges Be
schichtungsmaterial 2 aus Kunststoff senkrecht zur Schrumpf
richtung und in einem Abstand von ca. 2 mm im Wege einer
Schmelzbeschichtung aufgebracht worden. Die Dicke der
streifenförmigen Kunststoffbeschichtung 2 bzw. Kunststoff
streifen beträgt ca. 0,3 mm. Als Kunststoff ist ein Poly
amid 4,6 verwendet worden, welches einen Kristallitschmelz
punkt von 290°C besitzt. Dieser Kunststoff ist mit 5%
Kurzglasfasern 3 gefüllt, die lediglich angedeutet sind.
Ein Kleber 4 auf der Innenseite der Schrumpfmanschette 1
wird bei einer Oberflächentemperatur von ca. 290°C akti
viert, und die Schrumpfmanschette 1 schrumpft.
Die gewünschte und erforderliche Schrumpftemperatur ist
erreicht, wenn das Beschichtungsmaterial 2 zu fließen be
ginnt. Nach dem Aufschmelzen des streifenförmigen Be
schichtungsmaterials 2 entsteht eine nahezu durchgehende
Deckschicht, wobei die "Kunststoffstreifenschicht" an der
für Nagerfraß gefährdetsten Stelle - an der dünnsten Stel
le - am dichtesten ist und dort einen besonderen Schutz
darstellt.
Claims (9)
1. Wärmesensible Oberflächenbeschichtung für wärmeschrumpf
fähige Produkte, insbes. Schrumpfmanschetten aus thermo
plastischem Kunststoff für Kabelmuffen, zum Anzeigen einer
optimalen Schrumpftemperatur, gekennzeichnet
durch ein thermomorphes Beschichtungsmaterial (2) aus
Kunststoff, welches unter Bildung eines innigen Verbundes
auf die Manschettenoberfläche aufbringbar ist.
2. Oberflächenbeschichtung nach Anspruch 1, dadurch ge
kennzeichnet, daß das Beschichtungsmaterial (2) aus einem
typenreinen Kunststoff oder Co- bzw. Terpolymer oder einer
Polymermischung besteht.
3. Oberflächenbeschichtung nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch
gekennzeichnet, daß in das Beschichtungsmaterial (2) kurze
Glasfasern (3) und/oder Insektizide eingebracht sind.
4. Oberflächenbeschichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis
3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Beschichtungsmaterial
(2)
- - gleichmäßig durchgehend bzw. ununterbrochen oder
- - in punktförmiger, fleckenförmiger oder streifenförmiger Verteilung oder
- - in vorgegebenen geometrischen Mustern oder
- - an ausgewählten Stellen aufgebracht ist.
5. Oberflächenbeschichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis
4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Oberfläche des Be
schichtungsmaterials (2) als glatte oder profilierte Ober
fläche ausgebildet ist.
6. Oberflächenbeschichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis
5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Schichtdicke des Be
schichtungsmaterials (2) bei glatter Oberfläche 0,01-0,5
mm und bei profilierter Oberfläche 0,2-1 mm beträgt.
7. Oberflächenbeschichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis
6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Beschichtungsmaterial
(2) als Deckfolie bzw. Kunststoffolie ausgebildet ist.
8. Oberflächenbeschichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis
7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Deckfolie isotrop oder
mit einer vorgegebenen Vororientierung, z. B. mit uniaxialer
oder biaxialer Vororientierung aufgebracht ist.
9. Oberflächenbeschichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis
8, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Beschichtungsmaterial
(2) unter Erzeugung einer Adhäsivverbindung auf die Man
schettenoberfläche aufgebracht ist.
