Abstract

A composite sheet of two or more different flat materials bonded together with an adhesive uses at least one translucent and at least one transparent layer, the latter material being the substrate for the other. The transulucent layer is e.g. metal foil, paper, or fabric; the composite includes preferably a decorative veneer, plastic veneer, glass or acrylic material. ADVANTAGE - The product is suitable for use in furniture in particular. It is free from solid timber or e.g. environmentally valuable tropical woods. The transparent and translucent layers, provide attractive appearances. Good visual effects can be obtained by the use of a light source to suit the materials.

Description

Stand der TechnikState of the art

The invention relates to a composite material according to the Genus of the main claim. Such composites are known in various forms, especially in connection with Plastics, e.g. B. Glass with plastic, wood with art fabric, glass with metal and especially in the furniture sector Plywood or chipboard with veneer.

The one in furniture construction next to the wood-plastic connection on most used composite plywood or pressed wood plus Veneer is used because the plywood is very is high quality and expensive, while as plywood or pressed wood comparatively simple and inexpensive wood can be used can, since it does not appear visually. The blocking or pressed wood thus serves as a support and stabilize of the element for the only outward appearance kicking veneer.

On the one hand, it is disadvantageous that the composite plates made of material at least on both sides Veneer covered and the edges additionally glued need to get an attractive visual impression aim, and on the other hand that a connection of the noble Veneers with the "base" plywood or pressed wood from many Users such as consumers and designers or architects is considered unsuitable and therefore increasingly used solid wood is used. In addition to the high cost of Solid wood furniture is the environmental aspect of the Don't forget to use mostly tropical woods to let.

It is therefore an object of the invention to provide a composite material specify which can be used in particular in furniture construction and does not have the disadvantages listed.

This task is accomplished by a generic composite substance with the characteristic features of the main claim solved.

The use of translucent material and clear term material, which acts as a carrier for the translucent Serves material has the advantage that the so formed Composite material is a particularly appealing optical Impression and therefore this composite material for the Particularly suitable for use in furniture and interior design is. It is due to the composite material according to the invention possible to use any translucent material as to design stable component and at the same time the  special visual impression of this translucent Get material. The clear material serves as a carrier for the usually thin-layered wear-through material, which alone is not sufficient stability comes to use this alone as a component.

Another advantage of the composite material according to the invention is that materials that are usually not in Review are now open for this application stand. For this purpose, the composite material according to the invention is an advantageous embodiment in connection with a Light source used, which through the composite material shine. Many materials result in a completely new one and surprising optical effect when this is in view is looked at. By appropriate illumination of the ver material can either be the usual visual impression can be achieved or with backlighting the composite a translucent effect caused by the material completely different aspects of the screened material for Shines out and brings to bear. As a translucent Material can for example be a metal foil, paper or Textile material can be used.

According to a further advantageous embodiment of the Erfin dung that is also claimed for itself is at least one of the composite materials is a clear one Material and at least one of the materials veneer.

The use of clear material and veneer for A composite material has the advantage that for the veneer a stable, inexpensive and easy to process Carrier is provided that not only that optical appearance of the high quality material of the Leaves veneer undisturbed, but even this emphasizes and supports.

Another advantage is that a two-layer Composite material made of clear material and veneer is sufficient to create a visually appealing all-rounder to achieve pressure. In connection with the characteristics of the Claim 1 results from this combination completely new and surprising optical effect if this Composite material is viewed in transparency. By ent Talking illumination of the composite material can either the usual visual impression from veneered wooden panels can be achieved or with backlighting this plate one translucent effect is created, the completely different one Aspects of the material veneer come to the fore and stand out brings.

After an advantageous development of these features used as real wood veneer. The special peculiarity and the uniqueness of this natural material brought to bear and a particularly demanding ver composite material created.

According to another advantageous embodiment of the invention is considered at least one of the materials plastic tournament used. Plastic tournament is inexpensive and in particular which, according to the invention, is difficult for laypeople behind glass Distinguish wood veneer.

According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention glass becomes the transparent material of the composite material used. Glass is used, especially as special glass perceived as a valuable material like veneer, so that the Combination of these two materials to form a composite not averse to dislike, even in more demanding people bumps.

According to another advantageous embodiment of the invention Acrylic glass is used as a solid, clear material. This configuration has the advantage that an approximate comparable visual impression is produced as in the use of glass while taking advantage of acrylic glass such as light weight, breaking strength, etc. used can be.

According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention the composite material is made up of three layers, whereby the veneer layer sandwiched between two transparent ones Layers is introduced. This configuration has the fore partly that the veneer layer is protected from external influences thereby increasing the durability of the composite. Different types of clear material can do this  Find use, especially safety and laminated glass, as well as acrylic glass to ensure adequate stability and security to ensure the composite material.

According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention the surface of the clear material is additional processed, for example by etching, scratching or others known processing methods for glass or other clear visible materials.

According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention the surface of the translucent material is processed, for example in the case of veneer by pickling, letting in or a other known woodworking process.

According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention the composite material is plate-shaped, wherein According to an advantageous embodiment, one of the levels Form deviating form can be provided, for example a wavy, folded or curved shape. The plate illustrated in FIG. 1 1 of the inventive composite material has two layers constructed with a glass layer 2 and a veneer layer 3 which are connected by an adhesive to each other. The plate 1 is designed as a wall or decorative element and has a plurality of recesses 4 at its upper and lower ends for hooking in a suspension device 5 . Headlights 6 and 7 are shown on the left and right of the plate 1 , as are the light cones 8 and 9 generated by them. In the sectional area 10 of the light cone 8 with the plate 1 , the optical effect of the veneer with reflective exposure and in the sectional area 11 of the light cone 9 with the plate 1, the optical effect deviating therefrom is shown when the light shines through. By switching the light sources 6 and 7 on and off, it is thus possible to choose between two different optical appearances of the plate 1 .

The four plates 12-15 shown in FIG. 2 made of composite material according to the invention are in turn constructed in two layers and provided with different decorations on their glass top. These embellishments consist, for example, in images or texts applied in the screen printing process or in patterns or characters produced by sandblasting. Such plates 12-15 are therefore very useful as advertising media in addition to jewelry.

The four plates 16-19 shown in FIG. 3 made of composite material according to the invention are corrugated, curved or folded by techniques known from glass processing before or after the production of the glass veneer composite. Of course, other shapes are also possible within the mechanical properties of glass and veneer. The same applies to other transparent materials.

The composite panel 20 shown in cross section in FIG. 4 has three layers, the middle layer 21 being made of veneer and the two outer layers 22 and 23 being made of glass. Layers 21 and 22 or 21 and 23 which are adjacent to one another are connected to one another by means of an adhesive, in particular a crystal-clear adhesive such as resin, silicone, acrylate or polyvinyl butyral film.

All in the description, the following claims and The features shown in the drawing can be both individually as well as in any combination with each other be essential.
