Description

Verfahren zur Herstellung von Alkylschwefelsäuren durch Absorption von Äthylen und seinen Homologen. Es wurde die bemerkenswerte Beobachtung gemacht, daß Silber und seine Verbindungen die Geschwindigkeit der technisch wichtigen Absorption von Äthylen und seinen Homologen durch Schwefelsäure in außerordentlichem Maße erhöhen. Während z. B. mit einer 96prozentigen Schwefelsäure in einer bestimmten Zeit ioo Raumteile Äthylen zur Absorption gelangen, werden nach Zugabe von o,i bis o,2 Prozent Silbersulfat in derselben Zeit 1300 Raumteile aufgenommen. Durch Erhöhung der Temperatur kann die Absorptionsgeschwindigkeit noch weiter gesteigert werden. Die Konzentration der Schwefelsäure kann in weiten Grenzen schwanken. Das Silber läßt sich z. B. in kolloidaler Form, als Salz oder als Komplexverbindung verwenden. Es ist schon vorgeschlagen worden, die Absorption von Äthylen aus äthylenhaltigen Gasen mit Schwefelsäure durch Metalle und ihre Verbindungen katalytisch zu beschleunigen. Die Wirkung der bisher verwendeten Metalle, zu denen Silber nicht gehört, ist jedoch nur gering und die Verfahren haben deshalb auch keine technische Bedeutung erlangt.Process for the production of alkyl sulfuric acids by absorption of ethylene and its homologues.
