Description
Device for checking the tightness of pipelines. It is common practice, especially in the case of compressed air lines, to tighten the fastening screws of the pipe connections after inserting a sealing ring and to check the tightness by hearing or by feeling with the hand. However, this is not sufficient to determine minor leaks which, due to their permanent existence, lead to large entanglements, all the more so as minor imperfections in the seal increase very quickly. Care must be taken to create a completely tight pipe connection from the outset. The new device is to be used to check the tightness. The device shown in the drawing essentially consists of two half-pipes a and b, which are placed around the pipe connection with suitable seals c and are pressed tightly onto the pipe f and f1 by means of a few screws d. The apparatus attached in this way includes all parts of the pipe connection. If there is a leak, it collects, e.g. B. in compressed air lines, the air in deal cavity g and flows out through a nozzle h. Your examiner will see this as a recognizable sign that o ') there are leaks, either by means of a whistle or, as the illustration shows, by means of a silk flag which flutters at the slightest leakage of air. The apparatus can also be filled with finite water, in which then recognizable air bubbles rise. In the drawing, the device is shown in a rigid design. The socket parts a and b are made of metal, and the connection with the pipeline is achieved by means of suitable seals. In the semi-rigid version, the sleeve bodies a and b are made of an elastic material (rubber, etc.), which are each attached to a metal frame, which receives the screws and seals. The elastic version is made entirely of rubber, the sleeve body and sealing beads are made from one piece.
Die halbstarre, insbesondere aber die elastische Ausführung des Apparates hat den \"orteil der le'cl:iere z A'i-;-hliehNirkeit a i schwerer zugänglichen Rohrverbindungen, auch wird dem Prüfenden die Mitnahme dieser Ausführung erleichtert. The semi-rigid, but especially the elastic design of the device has the advantage of le'cl: iere z A'i -; - hliehNirkeit a i pipe connections that are difficult to access, it is also made easier for the examiner to take this version with him.
