Menge in Lösung geht.
Process for the preparation of calcium hypochlorite solutions. The extraction
of calcium hypochlorite bleach, so-called liquid chlorinated lime, offers .im
Comparison with the representation of sodium and potassium hypochlorite solution by exposure
from chlorine to dilute alkali lye certain difficulties. The calcium hydroxide,
to which the chlorine is to be bound is a body that is only slightly
Amount goes into solution. According to this, there is always an extremely low concentration of lime,
which makes it difficult to bind the chlorine gas. Man: is therefore forced to either
introducing the chlorine much more slowly than if it were bound to dilute alum lye
should be, or for a particularly intimate and long-lasting contact between
Chlorine gas and milk of lime have to be taken care of .. They are therefore high, sprinkled with milk of lime
Towers or a series of absorption troughs connected in series for this purpose
has been proposed, with chlorine and milk of lime are fed in countercurrent.
A second difficulty in making lime bleach
The fact is that the diluted milk of lime has a tendency at every point where there is a lesser one
Movement of the liquid prevails, the suspended hydrated lime and especially the
. in the technical milk of lime never to settle missing heavier, sandy components.
The absorption apparatus are therefore quickly - silted up, they sand up and are
then limited in their effectiveness .-- Towers sprinkled with milk of lime in particular
They quickly lose their effectiveness due to the silting up of the packing.
These drawbacks and difficulties are avoided, and there will be
at the same time, rapid absorption of the chlorine gas ensures permanent readiness for work
scored when
one proceeds according to the present invention so that
: one chlorine and milk of lime together and in cocurrent with the help of a pumping device
drifts through a coil connected to a storage vessel for so long
until it is saturated with chlorine. If you take the speed of the
Keeps the liquid flow high enough, then the coil remains free of
the deposition of solid parts.
Abbildung wesentlich schematisch veranschaulicht.
An apparatus constructed in accordance with the invention: is illustrated essentially schematically in the accompanying drawing. The actual absorption apparatus consists of a pipe coil B made of chlorine-resistant material (stoneware or lead), in the upper end of which at F the chlorine gas from the bomb H enters through a suitable nozzle. The lower end of the line is connected to a vessel A made of stoneware or concrete, in which a stirrer ensures that the milk of lime is thoroughly mixed. A centrifugal pump D sucks the liquid through the suction line E from the upper part of the vessel A and presses it through the pressure line C into the upper end of the coil. The performance of the pump is chosen so that the flow rate of the liquid in the coil is so high that any deposits of lime sludge inside the coil are definitely avoided. The chlorine gas entering through the nozzle at F is carried away by the liquid stream in the form of individual bubbles and forms an intimate mixture with it, a kind of emulsion, which now finds the best opportunity for safe absorption on the relatively long way through the snake. Very large amounts of chlorine can thus be bound by diluted milk of lime in a unit of time. Any traces of chlorine, which should pass the snake uri-absorbed, are then bound in the mixing vessel A, so that the whole process is odorless and a gas-tight covering of the vessel A appears just as unnecessary as a discharge of the exhaust gases. The liquid circulates in a circle through the snake and mixing vessel until the necessary amount of chlorine has been introduced and the milk of lime is saturated to the desired strength, whereby it is advisable to work with a small excess of hydrated lime. Centrifugal pumps, pipes and stirrers can be made of iron, as they only come into contact with the alkaline bleaching liquor.
It is not enough to continuously measure chlorine gas and diluted lye
Introduce quantities into a pipe coil. It must be the speed of the liquid
in line, because of the amount of chlorine gas introduced at the same time
is conditional, to be kept far too low for a deposit to be possible
of lime in the line and to prevent silting up of the latter. A
continuous serpentine apparatus is therefore not suitable for the production of lime bleaching liquor
usable. Only by having the snake with a storage jar and a
.Pump connects and makes the process discontinuous, it becomes possible
to circulate the liquid repeatedly and at such a rate
to drive through the .Snake that a deposit of solid parts in the latter
is prevented. At the same time, the high speed of the liquid flow promotes
the entrainment of the chlorine bubbles and the intimate mixture of them with the milk of lime.
