Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an exhaust sound damper, especially for internal combustion engines in Motor vehicles with a silencer cam penetrating the muffler housing, if necessary deflected exhaust pipe, which has a variety of public Connections with the silencer chambers dung stands, with the exhaust pipe at least one through Deformation of the exhaust pipe contains nozzle formed, de ren suction opening on the underside of the - at least in this area on the bottom of the muffler housing arranged - exhaust pipe is located.
In the usual Abga proposed so far mufflers (see especially DE-AS 29 14 159, the DE-OS 32 13 111) the exhaust pipe is considerable Distance from the bottom condensate collection area and is connected to it via a suction pipe. Obtained from the need for this suction lift itself in the narrow, relatively long intake manifolds term losses that effective suction and entrainment the condensate accumulating in the bottom area sats does not take place.
To avoid this difficulty, Pa tentschrift DE 32 41 887 an exhaust silencer proposed at the beginning, in which the narrow, relatively long suction pipes, and thus the losses caused by them when vacuuming the Condensers are completely avoided.
Exhaust silencers according to the type of the patent DE 32 41 887 have proven to be extremely good in operation. Only in the case of the installation of exhaust gas silencers in an inclined position, as a result of which the condensate can collect in the area of an end wall, in particular the one end end wall, difficulties can also arise when using the very advantageous nozzle design according to this patent. The formation of the nozzles as arranged on the underside of the exhaust pipe gills, as proposed in this Pa tentschrift, requires that the actual nozzle must have a minimum distance from the end wall which is not to be undercut, with the result that in such inclined installed Exhaust silencers the condensate from the corner can not be completely absorbed.
To completely eliminate this difficulty ten, it is provided according to the invention that at least in Area of an end wall, in particular an end forehead a nozzle in the form of a silencer chamber one - narrow side suction openings - Longitudinal slot of the exhaust pipe is provided, which is extends to the front end of the exhaust pipe.
Through this nozzle design, preferably that Exhaust pipe at the edges of the longitudinal slot in NEN is inflected, an inflow of air up to towards the end of the exhaust pipe and therefore up to reach the front of a silencer chamber. If the exhaust pipe is brought close enough to the front wall of the silencer chamber thus ensures that the corner area of the Chamber the condensate over the incoming air Current is effectively taken, so that also Tilting of the exhaust silencer in motor vehicles Do not collect condensate at these points can.
The suction intensity and the back pressure can be controlled by the slot height s between the tube and the chamber floor and the slot length 1 who the.
After all, it is also part of the Erfin dung, the exhaust pipe through a cap-shaped, up to Complete the longitudinal slot-extending end wall so that the exhaust gas flow is not partially through the front opening and only partially through the suction openings along the Edges of the longitudinal slot, but only over these narrow side suction openings. There this results in an even greater degree Gas flow through the side suction openings and thus an increased certainty that actually that all condensate also from the edge areas vacuumed oblique silencer chambers becomes.
Dabei zeigtOther advantages, features and details of the Er finding result from the following description exercise of some embodiments and based on the Drawing. It shows
Fig. 1 einen Schnitt durch einen Abgasschalldämpfer mit in verschiedenen Ebenen mäanderförmig geführtem Abgasrohr, Fig. 1 shows a section through an exhaust gas silencer with a meander shape is guided in different planes exhaust pipe,
2 and 3 shows a cross section along the line 11-11 in Fig. 1 by a nozzle formed according to the invention in two different embodiments, and
Fig. 4 shows a longitudinal section through an exhaust sound damper as in Fig. 1, in which both nozzles are of the same design and in addition, the exhaust pipe laid on the bottom is completed at its front end.
In the illustrated exhaust silencer, the exhaust pipe is deflected in a meandering manner, the individual sections 1 a, 1 b and 1 c running at different heights. The outlet-side exhaust pipe section from 1 c is arranged directly on the bottom side of the silencer housing 2 . In at least one, possibly all muffler chambers 1 , 11 and 111 , which are separated by bulkheads 3 , section 1 c of the exhaust pipe is provided with a nozzle 4 , 4 'formed by deformation, the conditions on the underside of the suction openings Bottom of the housing 2 collecting Kon sucks in, entrains and ejects through the exhaust. In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1 - the muffler muffler 111 is of course at the bottom through corresponding recesses in the bulkhead 3 in connection with the preceding chambers, so that the condensate which may occur there runs into these chambers and is also sucked off via the nozzles 4 , 4 ' can - the nozzles 4 arranged in the middle silencer chamber 11 are gill-shaped, as has been proposed in the patent DE 32 41 887, which has already been mentioned several times. The arranged in the area of the input muffler chamber 1 Dü se 4 ', however, is formed by a longitudinal slot 5 of the exhaust pipe section 1 c. The longitudinal edges 6 of the longitudinal slot 5 can, as shown in FIG. 2, also be bent inwards. In any case, such a, up to the front end 7 of the exhaust pipe section 1 c, ie up to the front wall 8 of the housing sufficient longitudinal slot 5 narrow side suction openings 9 through which the exhaust gas is sucked into section 1 c and thereby in condensate located in this area is carried away and ejected via the exhaust. The special design of the nozzles 4 '- in contrast to gill-like nozzles 4 - achieved that an exhaust gas inflow can take place with entrainment of the bottom condensate up to the end wall 8 , which is particularly important when the silencer housing is installed obliquely , so that the condensate would preferentially accumulate in the area of the corner 10 .
Dadurch wird in noch größerem Ausmaß sichergestellt, daß das Kondensat auch aus dem Eckbereich 10 wirksam mitge rissen und ausgetragen wird., Apart from the fact that the nozzle in the region of the middle chamber 11 is formed c through a longitudinal slot of the pipe section 1, the exhaust pipe by a cap-shaped, after un th to reaching to the longitudinal slot end wall 11 abge included in the arrangement of Fig. 4, so that the air inflow occurs exclusively through the lateral suction openings 9 . This ensures to an even greater extent that the condensate is effectively entrained and discharged from the corner area 10 .
Fig. 5 shows a modified embodiment in which the exhaust pipe 1 c in the area of Ansaugöffnun conditions by stamping is shaped like a nozzle.
