Description
The invention relates to an exhaust silencer for an exhaust pipe, in particular for an emerging from an oil-fired boiler exhaust pipe, with a sound-absorbing functional chamber, which is connected to at least one exhaust gas inlet and at least one exhaust gas outlet.
Exhaust silencers of this type are known in mutually different versions. In the prior art, a distinction is made between absorption silencers and reflection silencers. In order to achieve a broadband damping, both operating principles are combined in separate functional chambers within an exhaust silencer in the prior art.
Known absorption silencers in this case have at least one absorption chamber filled with sound-absorbing material, the absorption chamber can be coupled via a perforated wall to the exhaust gas stream. With the help of analytical equations systems are formed, this z. B. Helmholtz resonators, chamber mufflers and surface resonators used.
Die bekannten Abgasschalldämpfer sind somit kompliziert aufgebaut. The known exhaust muffler are thus complicated.
The invention has for its object to provide an exhaust muffler of the type mentioned, despite a simple Structure characterized by a good soundproofing. The simpler structure should lead to a cost reduction and also to a space optimization.
This object is achieved in that at least a second sound-absorbing function chamber is provided and both function chambers are connected to each other via at least one Schallleitkanal.
By inventively provided further functional chamber a structure of functional chambers is formed, which is tunable to the sound to be damped. The function chambers preferably have no flat surfaces and no rectangular basic shapes. The connection of the function chambers via at least one sound-conducting channel advantageously expands the frequency band in which the muffler operates.
A Schallleitkanal for connecting the functional chambers may be associated with the exhaust gas inlet according to a development of the invention. Here the Schallleitkanal leads to a distribution of the main flow of the exhaust gas to the at least two functional chambers.
Furthermore, according to a development of the invention, a sound-conducting channel for connecting the functional chambers can be assigned to the exhaust gas outlet. Even shortly before the exit of the exhaust gas from the muffler there is once again the possibility of sound wave propagation into both chambers. The exhaust duct associated with the sound channel may preferably have a smaller width than the exhaust gas inlet associated Schallleitkanal. The exhaust duct associated with the Schallleitkanal does not serve the distribution of the incoming exhaust gas, therefore it may be smaller in size. Sound waves can dissipate at this smaller sized Schallleitkanal, so that their attenuation occurs. According to a next development of the invention it is provided that the exhaust muffler is made as a one-piece housing. The exhaust silencer consists of housing walls, these can be in one piece z. B. be made of plastic. The use of sound-absorbing materials is not required, so that overall production is simplified. The plastic may be unreinforced, for example polypropylene is used.
The exhaust silencer according to the invention can be arranged so that a drain of condensate is possible. It then form no condensate bubbles. Flow channels can be equipped with cross-sections that allow the flow of large amounts of water, such as rain, without the operation of the burner is disturbed.
The exhaust silencer according to the invention has a high attenuation in the frequency range between 50 Hz and 200 Hz. In this case, the exhaust silencer invention uses the function of damping by fluid-structure interaction, are included in the natural frequencies of the structure. At the same time, the basic principles of absorption and reflection are combined in order to cover a large frequency spectrum while being as compact as possible and to achieve a high attenuation performance.
The function chambers and sound-damping channels are smooth-walled according to a development of the invention. They can be stiffened with ribs or beads.
