Description

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Verbinden von Bauteilen von Scheinwerfern oder Leuchten für Kraftfahrzeuge gemäß dem Oberbegriff des Patentanspruchs 1.
Bei der Herstellung von Scheinwerfern und verschiedenen anderen Leuchten für Kraftfahrzeuge ergibt sich die Notwendigkeit, ein Bauteil aus einem anorganischen Werkstoff wie z. B. Metall oder Glas mit einem zweiten Bauteil aus schlecht verklebbarem thermoplastischen Kunststoff, z. B. einem Polyolefin, zu verbinden. Dieses Verbindungsproblem tritt insbesondere dort auf, wo eine Abdeckscheibe aus Glas an einem Reflektor aus polyolefinhaltigem Werkstoff befestigt werden soll, die mit den derzeit verwendeten Klebstoffen nicht miteinander verklebt werden können. Bestenfalls lassen sich eine Frontabdeckscheibe aus Glas und ein Reflektor aus einem Polyolefin unter Verwendung hochentwickelter und somit teurer Klebstoffe zusammenfügen, jedoch ist eine derartige Verbindung von geringer Festigkeit gegenüber Schwindungen und Stößen, und dichtet den optischen Block nur sehr schlecht ab. Ferner sind derartige Klebstoffe, soweit sie überhaupt existieren, hitzehiirtbarc Harze, die nur langsam trocknen oder polymerisieren, was einen größeren Nachteil dann darstellt, wenn sie in einer verketteten Fertigungsanlage mit kurzen Taktzeiten Anwendung finden. Analoge Schwierigkeiten ergeben sich zum Beispiel beim Zusammenfügen eines Gehäuses oder Sockels aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff mit einer Trägerplatte
ίο aus Metall.
Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde, ein Verfahren der im Oberbegriff des Patentanspruchs 1 beschriebenen Gattung zu schaffen, das es gestattet, ein Bauteil aus anorganischen Werkstoff mit einem Bauteil aus schlecht verklebbaren thermoplastischem Kunststoff 0'hne Verwendung von teurem Klebstoff mit hoher Festigkeit in kurzer Zeit dicht zu verbinden und mit dem sich beispielsweise Scheinwerfer für Kraftfahrzeuge erzielen lassen, bei denen die Fügung eine sehr gute mechanische Festigkeit sowie eine sehr gute Dichtheit aufweist.
Diesie Aufgabe ist erfindungsgemäß mit den kennzeichnenden Merkmalen des Patentanspruchs 1 gelöst. Vorteilhafte Weiterbildungen des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens sind in den Unteransprüchen beschrieben.
An Ausführungsbeispielen wird die Erfindung im folgenden anhand schematischer Zeichnungen näher erläutert. Es zeigen

F i g. 4 bis 6 perspektivische Teilansichten eines aufgeschnittenen Scheinwerfers für ein Kraftfahrzeug vor und nach dem Verbinden seines Gehäuses mit der Frontabdeckscheibe.
Der in F i g. 1 bis 3 dargestellte Reflektor 10 sowie das Gehäuse 30 gemäß F i g. 4 bis 6 sind aus einem thermoplastischen Kunststoff auf Polyolefin-Basis hergestellt, beispielsweise aus Polydienen auf Isopren-Basis wie Polychlorisopren, Polychlorisopren-Butadien, Polyoxyisopren und Polythiooxyisopren, aus Polyvinylen wie die Poiyvinylacetale, namentlich Polyvinylacetat und Poiyvinylformal, wie Polymethyl-a-chloracrylat, Polymethylmethacrylat, Polyvinylacetat, aus Polyvinylhalogeniden wie nachchloriertem Polyvinylchlorid, Polyvinyltrifluorchlorid, sowie aus Polyvinyl-Kohlenwasserstoffen wie Polybutylen, Polyäthylen, Polymethylstyrol, Polystyrol, Polyvinylcarbazol etc., alles Werkstoffe, die nicht in zufriedenstellender Weise mit einem anorganischen Werkstoff, wie z. B. Glas oder Metall, verklebt werden können.
Bei dem in F i g. 1 bis 3 dargestellten Beispiel wird der aus einem Polyvinyl hergestellte Reflektor 10 mit einer Frontabdeckscheibe 12 aus Glas verbunden.
Der Reflektor 10 endet in einem Flansch 14, der eine Verbindungsfläche 16 und einen dazu im wesentlichen rechtwinkligen Rand 18 hat. Die Frontabdeckscheibe 12 endet in einem entsprechenden Kragen 20, dessen Anlagefläche 22 dazu bestimmt ist, mit der Verbindungsfläche 16 zusammenzuwirken.
Im Flansch 14 wird ein Ersatzteil 24 so verankert, daß es noch teilweise herausragt. In den dargestellten Beispielen ist das Einsatzteil 24 als Wendel aus Metall ausgebildet; die Wendelform 24 ist vorteilhaft, da sie bei gekrümmten Konturen leicht anzuwenden ist. Das Verankern des Einsatzteils 24 kann dadurch erleichtert sein, daß in der Verbiridungsfläche 16 des Flansches 14
eine Nut 26 vorgesehen ist
Zum Verankern des wendeiförmigen Einsatzteils 24 aus Metall wird dieses während einer festgelegten Zeitdauer, z. B. durch elektrische Widerstandswirkung oder induktiv, gewärmt und mit einem bestimmten Druck in den durch die Erwärmung vorübergehend erweichenden thermoplastischen Werkstoff des Flansches 14 eingedruckt
Nach Beendigung dieser ersten Phase des Verfahrens ragt ein freier Verankerungsabschnitt des Einsatzteils 24 aus der Verbindungsfläche 16 des Flansches 14 heraus.
Der Reflektor 10 und die Frontabdeckscheibe 12 werden sodann durch Auftragen einer Klebstoffschicht 28 miteinander verbunden. Die Klebstoffschicht 28 haftet einerseits am Kragen 20 der Fronlabdeckscheibe 12 und umschließt andererseits den genannten freien Verankerungsabschnitt des Einsatzteils 24 vollständig. Dieser Klebevorgang bietet jetzt keinerlei Schwierigkeit mehr, da es Klebstoffe gibt, die anorganische Werkstoffe wie Glas zu kleben vermögen. Ein derartiger Klebstoff, beispielsweise Epoxidharz, haftet am Kragen 20 der Frontabdeckscheibe 12 einwandfrei und hält den freien Verankerungsabschnitt des Einsatzteils 24 gefangen, was nach dem Abbinden des Klebstoffs zum Entstehen einer mechanisch festen und dichten Verbindung zwischen dem Reflektor 10 und der Frontabdeckscheibe 12 führt.
Der am Flansch 14 des Reflektors 10 ausgebildete Rand 18 verhindert das Überlaufen der Klebstoffschicht 28 und ermöglicht, daß diese den Kragen 20 zumindest teilweise umschließt, was zu einer noch haltbaren Verbindung führt.
Das Verfahren kann auch, wie in Fig.4 bis 6 dargestellt, zum Verbinden eines Gehäuses 30 mit einer Frontabdeckscheibe 12 angewandt werden und wird in diesem Falle in exakt gleicher Weise wie vorstehend beschrieben durchgeführt.

Claims (7)

Patentansprüche:
1. Verfahren zum Verbinden von Bauteilen von Scheinwerfern oder Leuchten für Kraftfahrzeuge mittels eines Klebstoffs, wobei ein Bauteil aus anorganischem Werkstoff, z. B. Metall oder Glas, und ein anderes Bauteil aus schlecht verklebbarem thermoplastischem Kunststoff besteht, insbesondere zum Verkleben eines Reflektors oder eines Gehäuses mit einer Frontabdeckscheibe aus Silikatglas oder einer Trägerplatte aus Metall, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß an dem Bauteil aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff (10,30) ein Einsatzteil (24) in der Verbindungsfläche (16) so verankert wird, daß es noch teilweise aus diesem Bauteil (10, 30) herausragt, und daß dann eine solche Klebstoffschicht (2(1) zwischen die Bauteile eingebracht wird, daß der hierausragende Teil des Einsatzteils (24) vollständig innerhalb der Klebstoffschicht liegt.
2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß ein Einsatzteil (24) aus Metall verwendet wird.
3. Verfahren nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß als Einsatzteil (24) eine Wendel aus Metall verwendet wird.
4. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß in die Verbindungsfläche (16) des Bauteils (10; 30) aus thermoplastischem Werkstoff zum Positionieren des Einsatzteils (24) eine Nut (216) eingearbeitet wird.
5. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 2 bis 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß zum Verankern des Einsatzteils (24) dieses auf eine vorbestimmte Temperatur erwärmt und in das Bauteil aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff eingedrückt wird.
6. Verfahren nach Anspruch 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Erwärmung des metallischen Einsatzteils (24) durch Ausnutzen elektrischer Widerstandswirkung erzielt wird.
7. Verfahren nach Anspruch 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das metallische Verbindungsstück (24) induktiv erwärmt wird.
