3. Verfahren zur Herstellung von 2-Alkylthio-4.6-diamino-s-tnazinen
der Formel I des Anspruchs 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man in an sich bekannter Weise Cyanurchlorid in Gegenwart
eines Lösungs- oder Verdünnungsmittels in btiiiebiger Reihenfolge mit einem Aminoacetal
der allgemeinen Formel II
in der R, den Methyl- oder Äthylrest, R2 einen gegebenenfalls
durch Cyan substituierten Alkylrest mit 1 bis 4 Kohlenstoffatomen oder einen Cycloalkylrest
mit 3 bis 5 Kohlenstoffatomen, R3 und R4 unabhängig
voneinander je einen niederen Alkylrest oder zusammen dieÄthyiengruppe unter Ausbildung eines Dioxolan-Ringes
bedeuten.
In dieser Formel stellen R2, R3 und R4 den Methyl-,
Äthyl-, n-Propyl- oder Isopropyl-Rest oder einen der
vier isomeren Butyl-Reste dar, im Falle R2 können
solche niederen Alkyl-Reste durch Cyan substituiert
sein. R2 kann ferner den Cyclopropyl-, Cyclobutyl- oder Cyclopeniyl-Rest bedeuten.
Weiterhin betrifft die Erfindung ein Verfahren zur Herstellung dieser Verbindungen gemäß Formel I.

4. Mittel zur Bekämpfung von ein- und zweikeimblättrigen

Schließlich betrifft die Erfindung ein Mittel zur Bekämpfung von ein- und zweikeimblättrigen Unkräutern,
das dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, daß es aus einem 2-Alkylthio-4,6-diamino-s-triazin der Formel
I als herbizidem Wirkstoff und üblichen Begleitstoffen besteht.
Als Losungs- oder Verdünnungsmittel für die erfindungsgemäßen
Umsetzungen kommen Wasser, aliphatische und aromatische Kohlenwasserstoffe und
Halogenkohlenwasserstoffe, Ketone, wie Aceton und Methyläthylketon, Äther und ätherartige Verbindungen,
Nitrile, Ν,Ν-dialkylierte Amide, Sulfoxide, sowie
Gemische solcher Lösungsmittel untereinander und mit Wasser in Betracht.

kocht die Mischung 20 Stunden am Rückfluß,
läßt auf Raumtemperatur abkühlen und trennt die
wäßrige von der organischen Schicht. Die Toluol phase
wird mit Wasser gewaschen, getrocknet und eingedampft. Das 2-Methylthio-4-methylamino-6-(l,3-dioxolan-2-yl-methylamino)-s-triazin wird aus Benzol
umkristal'iisiert und hat den Fp. 111 bis J13'.

wird abfiltriert, getrocknet und aus Aceton umkristallisiert. Aus dem Filtrat läßt sich auch noch eine
kleine Menge 2-Chlor-4-äthylamino-6-(/i./i-diathoxy-3thylamino)-s-triazin

1 Der Austausch des 1. Chloratoms im Cyanur-Siorid-Molekül
findet im Bereich von -20 bis 100C Statt, der des 2. Chloratorr.s im Bereich von 0 bis 50r C
und der des 3. Chloratoms im Bereich von 30 bis 120' C.
Der Austausch des Chloratoms durch den Methyl- *io- oder Äthylthiorest erfolgt, indem man eine
Suspension des entsprechenden 2-Chlor-triazins in einem Verdünnungsmittel, z. B. Aceton/Wasser mit
wäßrieer Trimethylamin-Lösung versetzt und rührt, .«..*.... . , ,

Beispiel ϊ
a) Herstellung der Ausgangsverbindung 1,3-Dioxolan-2-yl-methylamin
40
62,5 g Chloracetaldehyd-äthylenacetal werden mit 800ml Methanol und 585 g Ammoniak 10 Stunden
im Autoklav bei 135 bis 145° gehalten. Nach dem Abdampfen des überschüssigen Ammoniaks engt
man auf etwa 800 ml ein, gibt 200 ml 5%ige Kalilauge zu und engt weiter auf 200 ml ein. Die Mischung wird
nun mit Natriumchlorid gesättigt, mit 200 ml 50%iger Kalilauge versetzt und mit 500 ml Äther kontinuierlich
extrahiert. Nach dem Trocknen und Eindampfen des Ätheirextraktes erhält man die obige Verbindung
(Aminoacetaldehyd-äthylenacetal) mit dem Kp. bis 57 ^ bei 15 Torr.
b) 29,6 g 2-Methylthio-4,6-dichlor-s-triazin werden in 180 ml Benzol gelöst und 15,5 g Aminoacetaldehydäthylenacetal
bei 10 bis 15° langsam zugetropft. Danich werden bei der gleichen Temperatur noch 6 g
Natriumhydroxid gelöst in 40 ml Wasser zugetropft. Man läßt 4 Stunden bei Raumtemperatur rühren,
nitriert und kristallisiert aus Benzol um. Das 2-Methylthio
- 4 - chlor - 6 - (1,3 - dioxolan - 2 - yl - methylamino)-s-triazin
hat den Fp. 123 bis 124 .
c) 6,6g 2- Methylthio-4-chlor -6-( 1,3 -dioxolan-2-yl-methyIamino)-s-triazin
werden in 100 ml Toluol gelöst und bei Raumtemperatur unter Rühren 4,6 g 36,4%ige wäßrige Methylamin-Lösung zugetropft.
193,4 g 2,6-Dichlor-4-äthylamino-s-triazin werden in einer Mischung aus 11 Aceton und 11 Wasser
suspendiert und bei Raumtemperatur 105 g Aminoacetaldehyd-dimethylacetal
unter Rühren zugegeben. Bei der gleichen Temperatur tropft man noch 200 ml
5 η-Natronlauge zu und rührt so lange, bis die Mischung neutral reagiert. Dann gibt man 56,5 g
Trimethylamin in Form einer 40%igen wäßrigen Lösung zu und rührt bei Raumtemperatur, bis alles
in Lösung ist. Nun werden 48 g Methylmercaptan eingeleitet und bei Raumtemperatur weitergerührt.
Nach 24 Stunden wird das 2-Methylthio-4-äthylamino-
6 - {ß,ß - dimethoxy - äthylamino) - s - triazin abfiltriert
und aus Äther/Petroläther umkristallisiert, der Fp
ist 66 bis 67°.
184,4 g Cyanurchlorid werden in 1000 ml Toluo gelöst und auf —5" abgekühlt. Man gibt unter Rührei
105 g Aminoacetaldehyd-dimethylacetal zu. die Tem peratur darf nicht über 0° steigen. Dann gibt man be
derselben Temperatur 40 g Natriumhydroxid, gelös in 160 ml Wasser, zu und rührt so lange, bis ein
Probe neutral reagiert. Nun werden bei 0 bis 5C 48;
Methylmercaptan eingeleitet, tropfenweise mit 40 Natriumhydroxid gelöst in 160 ml Wasser verset2
und bei O bis 5° so lange gerührt, bis die Mischung
neutral reagiert. Danach werden bei Raumtemperatur 45,1 g Äthylamin in Form einer 52%igen wäßrigen
Lösung zugegeben und bei derselben Temperatur gleich darauf eine Lösung von 40 g Natriumhydroxid
in 160 ml Wasser. Man kocht die Mischung am Rückfluß, bis sie neutral isagiert, läßt abkühlen und trennt
die wäßrige Phase von der organischen. Die wäßrige Phase wird mit 100 ml Toluol gewaschen, die vereinigten
Toluolphasen getrocknet, eingedampft, mit Äther gewaschen und getrocknet. Man erhält das
2 - Methylthio - 4 - äthylamino - 6 - (ß,ß - dimethoxyäthylamino)-s-triazin
mit dem Fp. 66 bis 67°.
4,8 g Methylmercaptan werden bei 20° in eine Lösung von 4 g Natriumhydroxid in 100 ml Äthanol
eingeleitet. Diese Lösung wird bei Raumtemperatur zo
mit einer Lösung von 28,9 g 2-Chlor-4-tert.-butylamino
- 6 - (ß,ß - dimethoxy - äthylamino) - s - triazin (erhalten
nach dem im Beispiel 2 a angegebenen Verfahren) in 150 ml Toluol versetzt und unter Rühren
am Rückfluß gekocht, bis die Mischung neutral reagiert. Man gibt bei 20" 500 ml Wasser zu, trennt di<*
beiden Phasen voneinander und extrahiert die wäßrige Phase mit 100 ml Toluol. Die beiden Toluol-Lösungen
werden vereinigt, getrocknet und eingedampft. Das 2-Methylthio-4-tert.-butylan4ino-6-(/i,/i-dimethoxy
- äthylamino) - s - triazin wird aus Hexan umkristallisiert und hat den Fp. 72 bis 74".
Nach einem der beispielhaft angeführten Verfahrensvarianten ist z. B. auch 2-Äthylthio-4-tert.-butylamino
- 6 - (ß,ß - diäthoxy - äthylamino) - s - triazin (Fp. 91 bis 93") erhältlich.
Weitere erfindungsgemäße Verbindungen mit ihren Schmelzpunkten sind in der Tabelle I aufgerührt.
Die neuen Alkylthio-diamino-s-triazine der Formel
I besitzen ausgezeichnete herbizide Eigenschaften und sind besonders zur Bekämpfung von grasartigen
und breitblättrigen Unkräutern in verschiedenen Kulturpflanzungen geeignet. In hohen Konzentrationen
angewendet, wirken die neuen Verbindungen als Totalherbizide, in niederen dagegen als selektive Herbizide.
Von den Wirkstoffen der Formel I werden schwer bekämpfbare und tiefwurzelnde, ein- oder mehrjährige
Unkrautarten mit gutem Erfolg im Wachstum geschädigt oder vernichtet. Die Applikation der neuen
Wirkstoffe kann mit dem gleichen guten Erfolg vor dem Auflaufen (preemergence) und nach dem Auflaufen
(postemergence) erfolgen. So können Ackerunkräuter, wie Hirsearten (Panieum sp.), Senfarten
(Sinapis sp.), Gänsefußarten (Chenepodiaceae), Ackerfuchsschwanz (Alopecurus sp.) und andere Fuchsschwanzarten,
z. B. Amarantus sp., Gräser, z. B. Lolium sp.. Korbblütler, z. B. Taraxacum sp., Kamillearten
(Matriacaria sp.), vernichtet oder im Wachstum behindert werden, ohne daß bei Nutzpflanzen, wie
Getreide, Mais, Baumwolle, Sorghum und Sojabohnen,Schäden hervorgerufen werden. Weiterhin werden
von diesen Wirkstoffen in Reiskulturen schwer bekämpfbare Unkrautarten erfaßt: z.B. in Wasserreiskulturen
Echinochloa sp., Elocharis sp., Panieum sp., Cyperaceen und Paspalum sp.; in Trockenreiskultüren
ebenfalls Echinochloa sp., Digitaria sp., Brachiaria sp., Sida sp., Cyperaceen und Acanthosperum
sp.
Da die Wirkstoffe für Warmblüter, Fische um Fischnährtiere in üblichen Anwendungskonzenira
tionen nicht toxisch sind, die Pflanzen allmählic abtöten und somit die Sauerstoffbiianz und da
biologische Gleichgewicht nicht beeinträchtigen, siw sie für die Anwendung in Wasberreiskulturen seh
gut geeignet. Außerdem besitzen die Wirkstoffe eii breites Wirkungsspektrum gegen verschiedenartig
Wasserunkräuter, z. B. emerse Pflanzen, Wasserpflan
zen mit und ohne Schwimmblätter, submerse Pflanze: und Algen.
Das breite Wirkungsspektrum der neuen Alkylthio diamino-s-triazine der Formel 1 erlaubt es. sie auel
zu der wichtigen Bekämpfung von Unkräutern um Ungräsern auf den Reiskulturen umgebenden Flächei
wie Gräben, Kanalbetten, Dämmen einzusetzen. Voi diesen Wirkstoffen werden nicht nur die genann.en
in Reiskulturen vorkommenden Ungräser. sonderr auch andere grasartige und breitblättrige Unkraute
vernichtet. Die Wirkstoffe können bei der Vorbe reitung der Reisbetten, nach dem Auflaufen de:
Pflanzen auch zur Vernichtung eines bereits aufge laufenen Unkrautbestandes verwendet werden. So
wohl der in Wasser als auch in Trockenkulturen an gebaute Reis erleidet durch Applikation der neuer
Wirkstoffe in den üblichen Aufwandmengen keine Schädigung, in hohen Aufwandmengen weitgehen c
reversible Schäden. Die Aufwandmengen sind verschieden und vom Applikationszeitpunkl abhängig
sie liegen zwischen 0,1 bis 10 kg Wirkstoff pro Hektar bei Applikation vor dem Auflaufen der Pflanzen bis zu
1 kg Wirkstoff pro Hektar und nach dem Auflaufen der Pflanzen bei 3 bis 10 kg Wirkstoff pro Hektar.
wobei für eine solche totale Vernichtung des gesamten Unkrautbestandes, beispielsweise auf dem Kulturland
benachbarten Brachland, mehr als 10 kg Wirkstoff pro Hektar angewendet werden müssen. Die für
den Reisanbau wichtige Fruchtfolge kann bei Anwendung der neuen Wirkstoffe ohne Beeinträchtigung
erfolgen.
Die herbizide Wirkung der erfindungsgemäßen Wirkstoffe wurde an Hand der folgenden Versuche
festgestellt:
1. Herbizide Wirkung bei Applikation der Wirkstoffe
vor dem Auflaufen der Pflanzen
(Preemergence-Applikation)
a) Die Wirkstoffe werden mit Saatbeeterde in einer Konzentration von 100 mg Wirkstoff pro Liter Erde
vermischt. In diese Erde werden folgende Testpflanzen eingesät (Saatschalen):
Avena sativa,
Lolium multiflorum,
Setaria italica,
Sinapis alba,
Solanum lycopersianum.
Lolium multiflorum,
Setaria italica,
Sinapis alba,
Solanum lycopersianum.
Anschließend werden die Saatschalen bei 22 bis 25° und 50 bis 70% Luftfeuchtigkeit im Gewächshaus
gehalten. Nach 20 Tagen wird der Versuch ausgewertet. Die Bonitierung erfolgt nach dem 9er Index:

aus einem 25%igen Spritzpulver, auf die Erdoberfläche appliziert. Dann werden die Saatschalen
bei 22 bis 23° und 50 bis 70% relativer Luftfeuchtigkeit gehalten. Nach 28 Tagen wird der Versuch ausgewertet.

2. Herbizide Wirkung bei Applikation der Wirkstoffe
nach dem Auflaufen der Pflanzen Wirkstoff
(Postemergence-Applikation) 2 2 6
A vena Sinapis Papaver saliva alba rlioeas
a) Avena sativa, Sinapis alba und Papaver rhoeas werden im 4- bis 6-Blatt-Stadium mit einer wäßrigen
Wirkstoffemulsion (erhalten aus einem 25%igen emulgierbaren Konzentrat) in einer Konzentration von
0,5 g Wirkstoff pro Quadratmeter Erde (= 5,0 kg pro Hektar) gespritzt. Die Pflanzen werden dann bei
25 bis ;!8° und 40 bis 50% relativer Luftfeuchtigkeit gehalten. 14 Tage nach der Behandlung wird der
Versuch ausgewertet. Die Bonitierung erfolgt nach dem 9er Index:
9 = Pflanzen ungeschädigt (Kontrolle). 1 = Pflanzen abgestorben.

Zusammensetzung des emulgierbaren Konzentrates: 25 Teile Wirkstoff, 5 Teile einer Mischung von
Nonylphenolpolyoxyäthylen und Calcium-dodecyl benzol-sulfonat und 70 Teile Xylol.
Die Ergebnisse finden sich in Tabelle III.

b) In Saatschalen werden als Testpflanzen eingesät:

Im 4-Blatt-Stadium werden die Pflanzen mit einer
6ci 2%igen wäßrigen Wirkstoff-Emulsion (erhalten aus
einem 25%igen emulgierbaren Konzentrat der unter
2a angegebenen Zusammensetzung) behandelt und
anschließend bei 25 bis 28° und 40 bis 50% relativer
Luftfeuchtigkeit unter Tageslicht gehalten. Nach
18 Tagen wird der Versuch ausgewertet; die Boni-
tierung erfolgt nach dem 9er Index.
Die Aufwandmengen sind in der Tabelle IV angegeben.

3. Herbizide Wirkung bei Preemergence-Applikalion der Wirkstoffe in Reis mit eingesäten Unkräutern
a) Trockenversuch
Töpfe werden mit Gartenerde gefüllt und als Testpflanze Reis (Oryza oryzoides) sowie als Unkraut
Echinochloa crus galli eingesät. Der Wirkstoff wird zu einem 25%igen Spritzpulver aufgearbeitet und als
wäßrige Dispersion unmittelbar nach der Saat auf die Erdoberfläche appliziert (Brühmenge: 100 ml pro
Quadratmeter).
-5 b) Naß versuch
Die wäßrige Dispersion des Wirkstoffes wird auf die Erdoberfläche der Versuchsgefaße appliziert und
etwa 1 cm tief eingearbeitet. Hierauf werden die Testpflanzen Reis und Echinochloa crus galli eingesät
und der Boden mit Wasser vollständig gesättigt. Nach dem Auflaufen der Saat wird der Wasserstand
in den Gefäßen auf etwa 2 bis 3 cm über die Erdoberfläche angefüllt.
Beide Versuche werden im Gewächshaus bei 24 bis 27° und 70% relativer Luftfeuchtigkeit durchgeführt.
Die Auswertung der Versuche erfolgt nach 28 Tagen, die Beurteilung nach dem 9er Index:
9 = Pflanzen ungeschädigt (Kontrolle). 1 = Pflanzen abgestorben.
8--2 = Zwischenstufen der Schädigung.
