3. Der fest anbringbare Abstandshalter für Bienenrahmen funktioniert wie folgt:

A) Ein Bienenvolk muss regelmäßig kontrolliert werden. Hierzu müssen alle Bienen-Waben einer Sicht-Kontrolle unterzogen werden.
B) In der Bienenhaltung werden die einzelnen Rähmchen in einem Bienenkasten (Zarge) mit einem Festabstand voneinander getrennt, um den Bienen genügend Platz zum Bauen, Laufen und Arbeiten zu geben und gleichzeitig die Arbeit des Imkers zu vereinfachen.
C) Für die regelmäßigen Arbeiten am Bienenvolk ist es von Vorteil, wenn mit Abstandshaltern gearbeitet wird, da der wenige Platz im Innenraum sich auf die Tiefe des Rähmchens und den entsprechenden Abstand dazwischen verteilt.
D) An jedes Rähmchen werden vier Abstandshalter geschraubt. So können die Rähmchen ohne Rütteln und Rutschen nach der Arbeit wieder in die Zarge gehängt werden. Der Abstand zwischen den Rähmchen ist gleichmäßig und die Bienen müssen nicht unnötig gestört werden. Das erleichtert die tägliche Arbeit, schützt den Bienenbestand und verhindert unregelmäßig bebaute Waben und Rähmchen.
E) Die Abstandshalter müssen einmal mit Schrauben an dem Rähmchen angebracht werden und behindern den Imker bei seinen täglichen Arbeiten, z. B. Kontrolle der Waben und Bienen, Säurebehandlung, Wachs einschmelzen und Rähmchen säubern, nicht.
F) Ist ein Rähmchen defekt, können die Abstandshalter abgeschraubt und an ein neues Rähmchen angeschraubt werden.
