Abstract

For honeybees to be kept in a species-appropriate manner, regular checks of the brood space and intervention in the bee colony are essential. This invention simplifies the preparations that are necessary to work on the bee colony, thus protecting the beekeeper's back and reducing the working time per colony. The device means that there is no longer any need to lift the heavy honeycomb for the weekly inspection. As a result, beekeeping is also possible for people who are physically unable to do so because of the heavy honeycomb frames.

The device is a holder for the brood chamber frame (s), which can be pushed out and in again on guide rails installed in the holder.

When the brood chamber frame (s) are pulled out, a wedge is removed which holds the brood chamber frame horizontally and directly under the honey chamber frame. After the wedge has been removed, the incubator frame can be lowered onto the guide rails and pulled out.

The brood chamber frame (s) can be pushed inwards on the guide rails and lifted onto the lid. By pushing the wedge under the brood chamber frame, the brood chamber frame is held directly under the honey chamber frame.

In the lid there is a rectangular opening the size of the frame opening so that one or more honeycomb frames can be placed on the device with a barricade if necessary. If no honeycomb frames are placed on the device, the opening is closed in a watertight manner with a lid. The device can be used for all types of magazine hives and can be operated with one or two brood chamber frames.

The device is a holder for one or more brood chamber frame (s) populated with bees, which surrounds the frame and is placed on the floor. The device holds the brood chamber frame (s) on a rail installed on each side. The angle of the rails can be adapted to the respective dimensions of the available frames. The device holds the incubator frame (s) firmly to the underside of the lid by the front end of the rails and a wedge at the rear. The device has a cutout in the cover in which further frames can be inserted. Thus, the frames (e.g. honey frames) inserted in the lid have a connection to the incubation frame in the device. The device has a folded opening in the lid into which a gate can be inserted between the brood chamber and the honey chamber. The device has a folded opening in the lid in which a beehive can be inserted between the brood chamber and honey chamber in order to facilitate the honey harvest.
