Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a tap for an electrical cable, which has an electrical conductor that from one Insulating material existing jacket is surrounded, being a Jacket section for attaching the tap is removed.
For electrical cables, especially those used as ground cables serve to ground several electrical consumers, it is often required to the individual electrical consumer to bring this ground cable close to earth in a be agreed cable section with an electrically conductive Ab handle to provide. This is generally done that the Ka used to insulate the electrical conductor removed in this section and the exposed electrical conductor is contacted with a cable lug. The Cable lug is provided with side claws that can be squeezed around the electrical conductor, to contact the leader.
With this tap solution, however, there is a risk that the exposed electrical conductors in the tap area dated because the exposed area of the electrical conductor only airtight in the contact area with the cable lug closed and thus protected against corrosion. But it is basically difficult to get the claw shoe around the bare exposed electrical conductor that the the entire exposed area is covered by the claw shoe. The use of a tubular cable lug was not previously Can be used for a center tap, because the size is inevitable inner diameter of the cable lug ensures a safe crushing could not guarantee with the electrical conductor and a commercially available reducing sleeve could not be fed.
The object of the present invention is therefore a To provide a tap for an electrical cable that is suitable for a Safe contact also ensures with aluminum lines and at the same time corrosion of the exposed electrical Conductor prevented.
This object is ge by a tap according to claim 1 solves. Preferred embodiments are in the dependent An sayings.
According to the invention, a tap has an electrically lei tendency essay, which is an exposed electrical Leader attached to an electrical cable, and that in ner form essentially that of the electrical conductor corresponds to th cable sheath section, and a deformable Cable lug surrounding this electrically conductive attachment can be attached around.
The electrically conductive attachment closes the one for the tap fully exposed electrical conductor in the electrical cable and replaces the one removed to attach the tap Insulation section. The exposed electrical conductor is hereby against environmental influences from outside, which lead to a cor rosion of this conductor could be shielded. Farther is the entire cross section below the deformable cable shoes filled out, so that on the electrically conductive Auf Safe contact when the cable lug is deformed is achieved over the entire conductor cross-section.
The electrically conductive attachment continues to be preferred as composed of two identical half-shells, whereby the attachment lightly around the exposed electrical conductor lets put together and also a simple manufacture This essay is guaranteed.
The cable lug for contacting the electrical cable also has In addition, preferably a tubular element, the In diameter essentially the outer diameter of the Ka belmantels corresponds, and the entire electrical lei covering essay covered and beyond squeezed out sets is. Such a cable lug can be easily on the Electrical cable by sliding it around the electrical cable bring. Furthermore, the squeezing process ensures that the Cable lug reliably over the underlying electrical conductive attachment with the electrical conductor of the Elektroka bels is connected.
In the following the invention is exemplified with reference to Drawing showing a cross section through an electrical cable shows a tap according to the invention, explained in more detail.
In the drawing, an electrical cable 1 is shown, as z. B. is used to ground a battery in a motor vehicle ver. The electric wire 1 , which is circular in cross section, contains a flexible electrical conductor 2 which consists of wires 21 or, to increase the flexibility, of strands which are composed of several wires. Copper or aluminum is preferably used as the conductor material. The electrical conductor 2 is circular in cross section in the illustrated embodiment. However, there is also the possibility of using an electrical conductor with other cross-sectional shapes. Above the electrical conductor 2 there is also a cable jacket 3 , which serves to isolate the electrical conductor. This cable sheath 3 is generally made of rubber or plastic.
In order to enable a center tap of the electrical cable 2 , the z. B. can serve to connect the ver connected with the electric cable 2 electrical consumers to a ground, the insulating cable sheath 3 in the desired tap area 31 is removed. For this purpose, a cylindrical segment is preferably removed from the cable sheath 3 and the electrical conductor 2 with its wires 21 exposed under the insulation. To tap the electrical cable 2 in the area 31 of the exposed electrical conductor, an attachment 4 made of an electrically conductive material, preferably copper or aluminum, is arranged around this exposed electrical conductor. The attachment 4 is laid out so that it corresponds in its shape to the cable sheath section removed from the electrical conductor. The attachment 4 therefore has a sleeve shape in the exemplary embodiment, its inner diameter corresponding to the outer diameter of the electrical conductor 2 and its outer diameter corresponding to the outer diameter of the cable jacket 3 . Furthermore, the length of the attachment is designed so that the entire exposed Mantelab section 31 of the electrical conductor 2 is covered.
In order to be able to simply attach the attachment 4 to the exposed electrical conductor 2 , the attachment 4 preferably consists of two identical half-shells 41 , 42 , which can then be assembled around the exposed electrical conductor. Alternatively, however, there is also the possibility of designing the attachment as a sleeve with a longitudinal slot. To bring around the exposed electrical conductor then the attachment must first be pressed on, then pushed onto the exposed electrical conductor and then pressed again.
After attaching the attachment 4 , a cable lug 5 is pushed onto this attachment for the production of the tap, which is composed in the exemplary embodiment shown in the drawing from a sleeve 51 and a connection tab 52 radially abste from this sleeve. The cable lug 5 is preferably formed in one piece and consists in Chen wesentli of the same material as the attachment 4 , that is, preferably copper. The sleeve 51 of the cable lug 5 has an inner diameter which corresponds essentially to the outer diameter of the Ka belmantels 3 . Furthermore, the sleeve 51 of the Ka belschuhs 5 is designed so that it covers at least the entire set 4 .
After the sleeve 51 of the cable lug 5 is placed on the attachment 4 , the sleeve 51 is squeezed in a section in the area of the attachment, preferably over the entire sleeve cross section. This ensures, on the one hand, that the cable lug 5 is securely held on the electrical cable 1 and, on the other hand, that all wires 21 of the electrical conductor 2 make air-tight contact. The bruise can z. B. with means of pliers or an additional attached clamp. Then the cable lug 5 can then be used to tap the electric cable 2 via the connecting tab 52 , which has a connecting hole 53 for inserting a screw or egg rivet, for. B. connected to an earth cable. Finally, the ends of the cable lug sleeve 51 can then be sealed in a manner known per se with a shrink tube 6 so as to prevent corrosion.
It is essential for the invention that the exposed electrical conductor 2 is completely covered by the attachment 4 and can thus be sealed off from the environment with the aid of a shrink tube, so that corrosion of the electrical conductor 2 in the exposed section 31 can be reliably prevented. Furthermore, by filling the volume between the cable lug 5 and the exposed electrical conductor 2's with the aid of the attachment 4, a safe contact of the electrical conductor is made possible.
