Aufgrund der unterschiedlichen Abmessungen von Kraftfahrzeugen sind auch die benötigten Potentialabgriffe lokal verschieden. Der Potentialverteiier ist im Verhältnis zu den bekannten Verteilerschienen einfach und kostengünstig herstellbar. Da sich elektrische Kabel weitaus leichter und schneller verlegen lassen als Verteilerschienen ergibt sich insbesondere bei der Installation in Kraftfahrzeugen eine erhebliche Zeitersparnis.
