Schweissnähten in biaxial verstreckter Folie
Die Neuerung bezieht sich auf eine Schweissvorrichtung zur Herstellung von kontinuierlichen Schweissnähten
mit einem beheizten Schweisswerkzeug zur Verbindung von zwei
oder mehreren Folienlagen. ■
Es.ist seit langem üblich, zum Verpacken von
Verbrauchsgütern, beispielsweise Lebensmitteln, Folien aus thermoplastischen Kunststoffen zu benutzen. Die Verwendung
der Kunststoffolien erfolgt meist derart, dass das zu ver=»
packende Gut in einem aus einer Flachfolie gebildeten Schlauch eingeschlagen wird, dessen Längsnaht dann durch eine
Schweissnaht verschlossen wird.. Vielfach werden für diesen Zweck auch aus Flachfolienbahnen kontinuierlich Schläuche
geformt und durch eine Längsschweissnaht verschlossen* Von
dem erhaltenen endlosen Sehlauch werden dann die zur

Herstellung der einzelnen Verpackung "benötigten Stücke abgeschnitten. Die vorerwähnte Verpackungsart findet bevorzugt
Anwendung bei der Herstellung sogenannter Schrumpfpackungen 9
d.h. bei solchen, bei denen das Verpackungsgut verhältnis«=
massig lose mit einer Kunststoffolie umgeben wird, die dann
durch eine nachfolgende Hitzebehandlung zum engen.Anliegen
an das Verpackungsgut, gebracht wird,..
Bisher wurden Schläuche aus Ilachfolien in der
Weise hergestellt, dass man die flache Folienbahn zu einem Schlauch faltete und die gegeneinander liegenden Enden
mittels einer Trennschw.eissung verband. Der lachteil dieses
Verfahrens besteht darin, dass., um diese Schweissart über"
haupt erst zu ermöglichen, die Schweissnaht etwa 1 cm von
der Aussenkante der den Schlauch bildenden Rollenbahn durch» geführt werden muss. Dies hat zur folge, dass zwei 1 cm breite
Folienstreifen als Abfall anfallen, der aus der Maschine .
herausgeführt werden muss. Dies ist ie-ä-et-ea? sehr umständlich
und .gibt vielfach Anlass zu Störungen, des Maschinenablaufs*
Ein weiterer wesentlicher Nachteil des bekannten Verfahrens besteht darin, dass die bei der Schweissung erfolgende Wärmezufuhr nicht unmittelbar auf die Schweissnaht begrenzt bleibt,
sondern dass auch die nähere, Umgebung der Schweissnaht erheblicher
Wärmeeinwirkung ausgesetzt ist. Das führt bei der
Verarbeitung von verstreckten Folien, wie sie bei der Her«

stellung von Schrumpf packungen stets verwendet werden,: dazu,
dass die.Folien in der Umgebung der Fant stark desorientiert
werden, was einen wesentlichen-Verlust.an-Festigkeit mit sich
bringt. .
Man hat auch "bereits vorgeschlagen, die Herstellung
einer Längsschweissnaht an einer zum Schlauch gefalteten
Folienbahn durch Impuls "bzw. Wärmekontaktschweissung herzu·™. stellen,
jedoch führt auch dieser Weg nicht zu "befriedigenden
Ergebnissen, da die verstreckten Folien die leigung haben, an'
den "beheizten Werkzeugen kleben zu bleiben, wenn diese wieder von den zu verschweissenden Folienlagen weggeführt werden.
Das hat zur Folge, dass die S-chweissnaht bereits vor ihrer
Entstehung wieder gelöst wird, ."."■■■-
Aufgabe der Feuerung ist es, eine Vorrichtung vorzusehen, die die kontinuierliche Ausführung einer Längs«
schweissnaht an einer zu einem Schlauch gefalteten Folienbahn gestattet, ohne dass Abfall entsteht. Gleichzeitig
soll die Wärmezufuhr zu den zu verschweissenden Folienlagen
in der Weise durchgeführt werden,, dass sie unmittelbar auf
den Ort der auszuführenden Schweissung beschränkt bleibt*
wodurch eine unerwünschte Desorientierung der Folie verhindert wird, - .

Gegenstand der Neuerung ist eine Vorrichtung zur Herstellung
von kontinuierlichen Schweissnähten in "biaxial
verstreckter Polie. Die erfindungsgemässe Schweissvor«
richtung "besteht aus einer beheizbaren Scheibe, die an einem
schwenkbaren Hebel drehbar gelagert ist und einer elastischen Andruckvorrichtungj und ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die
als Schweisswerkzeug dienende Scheibe auf beiden Seiten mit einem elastischen wärmeisolierenden Material belegt ist,, das
nicht mit den zu verarbeitenden folien verschweissbar ist-,,
wobei der Belag mindestens die gleiche Grosse besitzt wie
das scheibenförmige Schweisswerkzeug» Eine bessere Wirkung
wird jedoch mit der erfindungsgemässen Vorrichtung erzielt,
wenn das elastische Wärmeisoliermaterial etwas über den Rand des Schweisswerkzeuges übersteht»
Das scheibenförmige Schweisswerkzeug kann zur Aus«
führung von kontinuierlichen Schweissnähten einen glatten
Rand besitzen» Vorzugsweise sind jedoch auf dem Rand des
scheibenförmigen Schweisswerkzeuges Höcker"oder Stifte- radial
angeordnet, so dass beim Abrollen des scheibenförmigen Schweisswerkzeuges auf der zu verschweissenden Unterlage eine
Reihe von Schweisspunkten entsteht. Bei der zuletzt ge«
nannten Ausführungsform des scheibenförmigen Schweiss.werk«
zeuges mit Höckern bzw. Stiften am Rand wird in vorteilhafter
Weise auch der Zwischenraum zwischen den- einzelnen Höckern

oder Stiften mit isolierendem, elastischem Material ans«
gefüllt.
Als elastisches isolierendes Material, das.nicht
mit der zu versohweissenden Folie verschweissbar ist, dient vorzugsweise Polytetrafluoräthylen oder.Silikongummi.
Eine vorteilhafte Ausführungsform der erfindüngsgemässen
Vorrichtung wird im folgenden unter Bezugnahme auf die
beigefügten Zeichnungen näher erläutert:-

Das im Punkt 0 drehbare scheibenförmige Schweiss«*»
werkzeug 1 ist über einen -üebel 2 im Punkt A schwenkbar gelagert.
Das Schweisswerkzeug 1 ist gleichzeitig mit einer . Lage aus elastisch verformbarem? wärmeisolierendem Material 3
abgedekktj das etwas über den ausseren Rand des Schweisswerkzeuges 1 übersteht» Eine am Hebel 2 angebrachte Feder 4 sorgt
dafür, dass das mit dem elastischen wärmeisolierenden Material 3 belegte Werkzeug 1 ständig an die auf der Unterlage.
5 befindlichen beiden Folienlagen 6 angedrückt wird.
Am äusseren Band des Werkzeuges 1 sind Höcker bzw. Stifte 7
vorgesehen, die bei der unter dem Druck der. Feder 4 erfolgender

Verformung des elastischen Materials 3 aus diesem hervortreten und auf die zu verschweissenden Folienlagen einwirken.
Beim Fortbewegen der Folienbahn 6 in Pfeilrichtung roll-te das
erfindungsgemässe Schweisswerkzeug auf den Folienlagen 6 und der Unterlage 5 ab>
wobei die Höcker bzw» die Stifte in die zu verschweissenden Lagen 6 eintauchen und Schweiss«
punkte 8.erzeugen» Vorteilhaft ist auch die Stirnseite des
erfindungsgemässen Schweisswerkzeuges mit elastischem,
wärmeisolierendem Material belegt» Es sind lediglich Öffnungen zum Durchtritt der Höcker bzw. StIfte.7 freigelassen,

Der Hebel 2 kann als Gabel ausgeführt sein,, in der
das Schweisswerkzeug 1 samt der beidseitigen wärmeisolierenden
Beschichtung drehbar gelagert ist. Es kann jedoch ebenso ein Schenkel der Gabel fortgelassen und das Werkzeug 1 nur
einseitig am Hebel 2 befestigt werden* Die Wärmezufuhr zur
Heizung des Werkzeuges kann in bekannter Weise, beispiels~ weise durch elektrische Widerstandsheizung erfolgen* Eine
entsprechende Vorrichtung ist aus Gründen der besseren Übersicht
in den beigefügten Zeichnungen nicht dargestellt. .
Die neuerungsgemässe Vorrichtung ermöglicht es, zum
Schlauch gefaltete Folienbahnen, insbesondere aus orientiertem Material durch eine längsnaht zu verschweissen, ohne dass die
der Schweissnaht benachbarten Bereiche der Folie durch uner-

wünschte Wärmeeinwirkung desorientiert und damit in ihrer
festigkeit beeinträchtigt werden und ohne dass, wie "bei
herkömmlichen Vorrichtungen, Abfall entsteht» Die neuerungs—
gemässe Vorrichtung ist besonders geeignet zur Anfertigung von Schläuchen, die zur Herstellung von Schrumpfpackungen.
Verwendung finden, sollen« Der besondere Vorteiljder heuerungS"
gemässen Vorrichtung liegt darin, dass die Schweissung -unter
Druck bei gleichzeitiger Begrenzung der Wärmeeinflusszone
durch die die Schweisselemente umgebende Isolation vor sich
geht, was insbesondere für die-Schweissnahtfestigkeit ver«*
streckter Kunststoffolien von Bedeutung ist. Die neuerungs™
gemässe Vorrichtung ermöglicht ausserdem ein kontinuierliches Arbeiten.

Claims (5)
1. Schweissvorrichtung zur Herstellung τοπ kontinuierlichen. S chwe issnäht en, "bestehend aus einer beheizbaren
Scheibe, die.drehbar gelagert ist, derart, dass sie auf einer Unterlage abrollen kann und in einer elastischen
Andruckvorrichtung, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die als Schweisswerkzeug dienende Scheibe (I)-auf beiden Seiten.·
mit einem elastischen, wärmeisolierenden Material (3) belegt ist, das nicht mit den zu verarbeitenden Folien
verschweissbar ist, wobei der Belag mindestens die
gleiche Grosse besitzt wie das scheibenförmige Schweiss«·
werkzeug. .. . -
2, Vorrichtung und Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
dass das elastische Wärmeisoliermaterial (3). etwas über
den Rand des. Sohweis.swerkzeug.es übersteht.
3« Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 2. und 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass auf dem Rand des scheibenförmigen Sehweiss«
Werkzeuges (l) Hocker oder Stifte (7) radial angeordnet
sind, die als die eigentlichen Schweisswerkzeuge dienen.
4. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
dass auch die Zwischenräume zwischen den einzelnen Höckern
oder Stiften mit isolierendem elastischem Material "ausgefüllt sind.
